The bar was filled with the matchstick people
Thin,thick ,tall and some fat
Doing what they did last week
And the week before
Maybe even the year before that
So my shiver told me

Wine,red cold and nasty
Dribbled down this unopened jaw
Trying to escape my wanted lips
As I watched them
Yes there I sat mocking and thinking
Is all the that

Strange as I see them
My smile could not come
For I felt in their sorrow a life almost done
Accepted for society this pleasure for hard work
The drinking game a folly that hides a life of dirge

Yet leaning back on the creaked out chair ,I swallowed
The wine now warm, felt fuzzy and inviting
Contemplating life,my mind raced
I could never be a matchstick
The box would never take me ,nor I want to fit

My time had come,
Up I stood ,yet no one noticed me,no one cared
With my glass half full I left
Out I walked
Into life,into the open
My glasses bore a fired refection,as I turned
I could see them burning
Deep within I knew that all matches fade away to nothing
Oh the shiver

These shadows that follow me
know my wane
For they can see my sadness
Feed on my low
Fill the emptiness in my head
Leave me for cold
Stone the dead

In my life all blood runs black
Not from fear nor fright
Just the cold that has become me
My shadows
Every night

My day is all a sleepwalk
This zombie way through life
If only I had the living
I'd bite
I'd scream
I'd write

For my quill is all but broken
Black ink so far from wet
I'm waiting for the shadows
This book I know is read

All that felt so still
Became a stir
A silent beat
That fell into a torrent of thunder

From a touch of hands
To a feinted kiss
In a world of the new
Our time
This place

And now I'm glossed
Smitten by you my love
Fallen
Spellbound to your beauty
Pure

I fall to your prey
Fold on my knees
Bow to your touch
Kiss me
Lets fly my lovely
Fly together
Fly away to the lands
Where our heaven waits

Kiss me my lovely
Hold me
Hold me tight
Run take the whole of me
The wrong
Now becomes
Our right

The sun made its lowly appearance
A vague attempt at light
On another dull day
The blow of the wind caught my breath
Chilled my skin and led my mood
I pondered

My mirror that never lies
Caught me weeping
A reflection of my life
For I was wounded
These failings cut deep
Painful
Sad
Lonely

Mesmerized I stared
Waited for the passing
Waited for the normality of life
My cloth sodden arms wipes the look
The mirror faded
So comes the return
Of
Just another day

The cold of the night hid my grief
Rid my longing
Stole my colour
And painted me black

Inside I was dead
Empty
Wasted for the scrap
Crying from a future
On ears of silent

My dark look ahead
lights all blinkered out
Wishing I was gone
Washed
To screams of a shout

He laughs at all my sadness
Weeps his tears of joy
The angel from the dark side
Plays his music

Wake me into sunlight
Wake me from this world
Hold my hand complete me
Wash the black away
Wash it all
Away

As the sun sets around us
Hands in hand
Skin to skin
I saw in your eyes
The whole

I saw you smile and I knew
You are magic
You are my complete
An angel from the heavens
Destined to meet

It is written in a book
Yet not worded
How this story grows
Through tears of joy
Love and madness

I like that book
I want that role
Become the ending with me
Hand in hand
Smile on smile

Only you can make my world
alive
Only you can make me
smile

One day you'll get the whole of
me
One day I'll wait a while

No boredom here just lots of
love
The ticking goes the clock

One day we'll take the
universe
The beauty of true love
