Listening to ***** rap in class
Staring into the depth of my screen
Fast pace words and faster beats
Backdrop of rhythm making my feet tap
A swath of warm words wrapping me up off my feet

I think that
I was there
when
Venus
danced from
the foam

her ankles
kissing
the sea

like a conch,
put me
to your ear
and you'll
hear the ocean
in me.
His hands were like snakes

slivering up my back

his voice was like ice

as  cold as it could get

his breath was like a bottle of whiskey

a sickling smell to the air

his eyes pierced into me

like i was his belonging

like i was a library book

like i was his pencil

like i was his girlfriend

i was never his to keep

i was his little puppet

i was his secret,a secret that died with him
You
the world is changing

the bird’s chirps sound more

beautiful

the sunsets look more

wonderful

the sun rise seems more

elegant

with you around

the world seems better

with you around

the light is brighter with  you around
the darkness doesn't scare me anymore

The sparks are present but surely they're not flying.
I could have spoken,
but I could not make a sound
These words, they gather,
but they all leave me behind

It wasn't the light
nor the darkness inside-
caging these demons,
I beg them to hide

You're just right beside,
but we're far far apart
You're pulling me through,
please save this withering heart!

Moments have passed
Now time's being wasted
Everything I knew
has finally fully faded

Raindrops stopped falling;
the well has run dry
I'll walk this path alone
and bid my last goodbye

I could have watched,
but my eyes looked away
Sorry for the fire
scorching your way
Will they blend?

Screams, that’s all i could hear in the night

when everyone was fast asleep

tucked in tight

the screaming went on for hours, days and nights

no one complained

no one moaned

no one ever went to the

asylum down the road.

Mummy said that’s where the crazy people go,

the people who loses the sight of the world

Daddy said that’s where you go when you lose

your sanity.

That is where the monsters go.
That is where the monsters go.
I guess this is where the freaks go

where the lights go down

and the show goes on

“ladies and gents”

said the man with the top hat

his face half in the shadows of the tent

he never showed his left side of his face.

he told the crowd to enjoy the show

and don’t go.

i never second thought his choice of words

only that i gave me the shivers

the spotlight hit the acts

everyone sitting in amazement

the end came slow

the horror in the air

no one spoke

no one moved

that is when i promised myself

i would never go to another freak show again
