the master of my own
demise is that I can't
dwell forever in the
ranks of the high
society your heart doth occupy

Happy are the stars,
for only they can
light
a guiltless path
paved by those astray

If you are a lover of words,
you’d understand the
beautiful curse      that befell us,
those who strive and endeavor
with a passion planted inside us
that flourishes and thrives.
Like Athena and her web,
our webs are made of
hundreds of words, woven with
our pencils like needles,
and so we get better at
sewing our works.

A girl
once loved words
wholeheartedly,
but occasionally tried
to let love go
before sewing poems
became her favorite thing
and nothing more.
This is when I found my voice. Written on March 24, 2013.

Tom McCone
memory clings to my porous depths,
moments now all but nonexistent, in a
shatter-scar painted fog,
rolling in further,
each hour before dawn.

what I have not yet even begun
has already transpired,
and dug ditches into
point-blanched seconds,
as I sit,
on the windowsill,
looking out over the ocean.

its countless cerulean rivulets,
tugging, at the
worn-down and torn-apart fabric,
binding the center of my chest,
each little shard
another droplet of
growing, smiling sharpness.
it whispers:

"you're in love
with the sea,
so
why don't
you just
god-
**** drown?"

so I set aside
all my nails,
and walk down,
to the shoreline;
but

I'm just
sad words,
and
no action;

so I slip back, to square one,
just a little further down,

and

rinse,
and repeat.

You are weary, I think

Of endless puzzles and games

And short romantic flames

You have grown disenchanted

With everything

Every stupid girl and foolish fling

You are bored

Of things built upon passing waves

Of all these conformists, these slaves

You have grown spiteful

Against people whining and nagging

And keeping secrets and bragging

And you are exasperated, maybe,

With all your toys breaking

As soon as you take them out of their boxes

It may be you are sick

Of instability and castles of crumbling sand

Of things reeling and getting out of hand

You have grown impatient

With cheaters and capricious ******

Who claim they are forever yours

You are tired, perhaps

Of feeling alone

And things aching through no fault of your own

I may not be

The sturdiest thing you've ever laid eyes on

I am little, and frail

And weak and pale

And I stumble when it's windy out

But I know, without a doubt

That for you I will be strong

That I will never do you wrong

I'll keep you from going off the brink

Because you are weary, I think

In The Woods
 Apr 2013 hello
Marian
The sun shines upon the trees
With its warm red glow
And the sunrays shine upon the trees
Where birds perch in the branches and sing
Where flowers secretly unfurl their soft petals and sweetness
Where bluebells grow and cover the ground
In purplish-blue
Where the sky is forever sapphire blue
Where the violets and moss grow
Where the breezes dance and caress my fair cheeks
Where periwinkles bloom
And peach blossoms unfurl their petals
And lift up their heads
And feel the warm sunshine on their pink cheeks
And where Fairies dance and waltz
At nighttime when Night wears her dark
Majestic gown of celestial beauty
Where the Fairies dance
And play Enchanted instruments
Like the harp
Which brings forth its nocturnal melodies
That dance upon the air
Which is perfumed with dazzling flowers
That bloom at Night
Where mist lingers in the sky
And sunrays dance upon its
Beautiful path
Where sunsets greet the west
And where sunrises say hello to Dawn
And where Dusk settles bringing
The dancing Fairies
That hush the world to sleep
With their sweet lullabies

Amelie
First you try and create the mood,
A quiet and peaceful atmosphere
Give us more romance than you should,
Find your inner voice, calm and clear.

Then your hands on the piano
Should look like the wings of a butterfly
Tell us about that girl you know,
Tell a story that would make us cry.

Just write a love song,
With stupid clichés and stupid romance
Make us sing along,
And give us the chance
To fall in love tonight.

Try to remember about
All the chances you missed
And what hurt the most in your past
And all those goodbye kisses ;

Turn those memories into
A stupid song with a stupid name,
Like "That girl I thought I knew",
And don't come back with no fame.

Just write a love song,
With stupid clichés and stupid romance
Make us sing along,
And give us the chance
To fall in love tonight.

And here we go, you're on stage,
The crowd listens to you.
Locking your heart away in a cage,
Locking away everything you knew.

Sing with your own voice the painful words
That couldn't get out of your throat ;
Admit your feelings to that special girl,
Or don't say anything at all...

Just write a love song,
With stupid clichés and stupid romance
Make us sing along,
And give yourself the chance
To fall in love tonight,
For the last time.
