Close encounters
Alexander Akin Feb 2020
Hi  🙋🏾‍♂
A few thoughts fleeting through my mind
Have you ever seen the moonrise on a bright evening?
Or sunshine on a gloomy cloudy day?
Have you seen the twilight in the belly of the morning?
Did you ever witness northern lights shimmer in the dark?
Or the Orion creep up at night over the easterly horizon?
Have you watched orcas ****** their full girth out of the blue?
Have you seen the stars dance off in the skies on a clear night?
Have you seen yourself in the mirror?
Have you taken the time to look into your very own eyes?
Right in there lie the mystery of your personality
That comes through like sunshine on a rather rainy day
That appears a golden yellow in the distant horizon
A little freckles of brown, a little shade of dark
The closer the better, the farther the best
The more the less, The less the more
The beauty that shines bright and brighter
From dawn to dusk revealing majestic splendor
each minute of the day

What can I do for you?
Alexander Akin Jan 2020
I imagine both of us living in a magical world
where bold wishes matter more than the reality
A place where streams wash up precious pearls
where the birds and the bees wake up with glee
such that anytime I ask what I could do for you
All your wishes are fulfilled at the drop of a hat

Happy Valentine
Alexander Akin Feb 2019
before going into the details of this message, may i say that this text is exclusively written for you. Yes. There is nobody more deserving of my attention in the small hours of the feast of valentine than you are.

Why? Well, for a fact, the why is as much a difficult a question for me to answer as it is for you. I have little idea why it has to be you. I just know you are beautiful. I know your star outshines a thousand stars put together. I know you have magic in your smiles, wonders in your eyes; beauty in your walk; love in your heart; and a crown on your head. in spite of all of these, the "why" still remains a a big ask.

So I  take a voyage to the deepest recesses of my soul, I search my heart. I find the answer. Only that the answer still begs the question. Why? The answer is embedded in the question -- The two are inseparable.

I imagine myself walk down a garden full of
ornamental flowers: roses, daffodils, tulips, etc. The mixed aroma gives me a joy. But then when I think about it again. so that I could be able to tell what these flowers smell like, I become helpless. One of the things that make every flower unique is the ineluctable smell that describes it. My imagination takes me thus far. I can tell how I feel about the scented savour of a rose but I can't describe how it smells.

A Rose is a rose. The smell, the pinky red color and every attributes are what contribute to its uniqueness. But the aromatic smell it gives off, though can never be mistaken for any other flower, is impossible to describe without talking about roses. The only perfect description of a rose is a rose. If I am talking about roses, I have to just say "roses". If anyone hasn't seen or smelled roses before, that fact would be lost on them. You are a rose, your attributes speaks for you.

Every so often, I fall into the trap of having to describe you by you. Because you are peerless, you have no equals. You are living in a magical world of your own. But then, I realize that for communication and understanding sake I have to put that magic into words. I have to use the best metaphors. I have to describe you with similes. And I have to personify wonders in your image. I am beginning to realize that feelings, no matter how great they are, must find expression in words and actions. So I crafted all the sweet words, and write lyrics to ballads. Hoping that one day, I can be able to describe what roses smell like without talking about roses. Hoping that I can talk about you without using you as my frame of reference. What better day to do that than on this day

Today is St. Valentine's day. A festival of love, even when the opposite person hates, you still keep a lot of love in your heart, and pour out from the unending flow. They might not appreciate it now, but they will thank you in the future for being a soldier of love.

On this day, I celebrate you. I celebrate all the
"whys" that gravitate me towards you.

Happy Valentine
Sincerely

Happiness means love
Alexander Akin May 2015
I can grow my love taller than Eiffel
I can open up your heart like petals
Pour my essence in your quintessence
Like the beeswax melts in the sun
have you melt my heart in yours
Under the spell of love I can do all
Wait,  there is no height I won't climb
Can lead a rescue team for your
There is no army I won't subdue
as long as it takes me to you
If that is all what I need do
Hey, it is either only me and you
Else, it would be me against the world
Cupid now?
come out the underworld
Will you?
Never tarry, Godspeed in your steps
shoot your venom right into the chest
then will I become the wholesome lad
who rides on love's wave to win an olympiad

Endless
Alexander Akin May 2015
Because you ooze grace and beauty
I take a vow to remain faithful and hearty
Because your light shines million miles away
I promise to have you around me all day
Because you personify all that glitter
my affection and feelings won't dither
Because you are wonderfully made
I will make you my queenly maid
Because you are set to rule the world
I have decided to make you my fortress
Because you have a smile that  lights up your city
I won't leave you for a moment, it'll be for eternity
Because I can be for you and you for me
I will be the custodian of your heart
and Because of all the becauses above
I remain under your causes(curses)

Miss Anonym
Alexander Akin Dec 2014
Til twinkle pinkie rosebuds turn shrubbery so wild
wilder than the fume upon which the moonglade
climbs gloomy tide to make welcome of the night
until the little birds sing your name
then times be as happy as flame
One goldfinch and 3 white pigeons
a colourful macaw parrot and falconet
or the black crowncrane of large pinions
soul's fleeting harbinger of the lorikeet
type, as i await the little birds sing
The whole of my being approves
by the star shining in northerly clime
as in clinging on tight to a feeling so true
of grim death in moment so prime
until the birds vocalize your name
only then shall I not feel the disdain
Patience robs the clamouring chest
heels are still weary and cold in rest
and soon little birds send me tweets
by the dawn chorus of early birds' beats
shall one become happy and gay
