Sketching faces with chalky ink
On a page empty blank
Into lines, into lies
I have again sank

Tracing features with weary eyes
Learning how they flow
Into life and onto faces
And how your smiles grow

I learn to shape those upturned lips
to create a seamless smile
Forgetting false falsetto all around
This now away I while

I want to sketch you into moments
Into movement and time
I want my pen to introduce you
Into my world, make you mine.

ALAS
My pen does not possess this power
And your eyes are distant real
3D is painfully not art,
In that form,
I so want
I can't
make
you
feel.

Opening scene: a girl and a guy we see
begin to converse, apple bobbing for words.

Time ebbs along just like a new song
tingling your skin with that guitar riff.

And she can't describe the world in his earnest eyes
he'll catch every golden wisp of a word fallen from her lips.

I see her laugh from the soul like I have
with you too many times to remember the trigger lines.

our story so similar to Him and Hers
so perfectly crafted, no acting required
but that idealistic movie proves to be
nothing but pictures in motion, no I love you spoken

Our fairytale
is doomed to fail
in technicolor life.
You and I
can only reside in
cinematic black and white

He thinks of her face in every wandering place
sits beneath an oak tree writing lyrics she'll never see.

She still can't forget when their curious eyes met
and serendipity will cause them to meet again.

They'll gaze at the stars and talk of how far
they feel from the earth cos what they've found is worth

more than gold dust
it could have been us
why must reality
eat greedily my fantasy?

Inevitably
the beautiful tapestry
of the love that people are made for

Will come undone
just when no one
expects it like
a thief in the night

Because this rainbow is defective
the agony and malice reflected
in lashing tongue red, those
words fall blue like hailstones

But this is the fee I pay life
for the golden creases of light
when you speak your mind
weaving hues I will never find
anywhere else
with anyone else

Our fairytale
may be doomed to fail
in technicolor life

But I'll take that chance
at happiness

Because life with you is far from
Black and White.
This would have been a song but c'est la vie... I'm not a hopeless romantic... Really..

you told me i am a touch of heaven
and i said everyone is a touch of heaven
you said no
i said yes,
you just have to
dig it up sometimes

you told me that i am the only good thing in this world
i say
if i am the only good thing
this world is total ****
and that's not true.
it looks like it sometimes
but we spend a lot of time
not looking at it right

you keep telling me you love me
and i keep saying
you're such a sweetheart
because those other words
won't come out of the pit in my stomach

you say
i shouldn't have waited
if god cared he would come down and school us
i say that he does
we're just a bunch of highschoolers who'd rather **** around
than listen

I smooth a frown line on this skin
constant suggestion of a sin
Lightening hearts and caressing fingers
stubbornly still it lingers
Reminding me of the piercing rays
of his smile and that haze
of rain that fell in her eyes
And your feelings that you shroud in disguise
as nothing.
They're under an invisability cloak
And her face is hidden in a heavy smoke
And I had searing sun and enviable tan
But sweet summer fades and leaves me no man
or beast or beauty or being at all
It's just me. And this mirror gazing on the wall...

I need to heal, where should I begin?

...with the damage I did to my skin

please don't move a muscle
don't mutter, don't breathe
like a photographed creature
I know you hate being confined

but I don't trust those mischievous
fingers of time and earth
as they dabble with our very beings
pocket a penny of your boundless worth

this us is not celestial
nor a flawless perfect scene
but it's chaos, it's inked lyrics on skin
and somehow there's space for you and me

between the endless open road ideas
born in this cardboard ghost town
and our opinions too fierce for them to hear
honesty never pleases the crowd

alone I know I don't belong here
but with you it's not just ok
we accept we're in no way superior
just speaking a different language

how did I find you as you are?
this ideal second set of eyes
to view this vast expanse of maps
like you cut through the undergrowth of lies

a world of black and white laid out
before us, car bonnets as the beach sun sets
and our colours bleed into the monochrome
I'm rich if this dream is all I have left
Cold rains, wet and weary... seeping through the sky,
spectres pass ’long side me... bent, with collars high,
my visions are invisible and no one sees me cry.

Minstrels of destruction... rapping at my door,
naked anvils aching... heavy hammers roar,
their monodies of emptiness pulse, bleeding through the floor.

House of cards collapsing... sagging walls of wax,
deuces in dissension... aces slip through cracks,
the Joker’s lost and lumbers by, alone, along the tracks.

Steeple steps dismantled... muted bells below,
ruins quake and tremble... frozen in the snow,
their pains implode within my brain while pale winds cruelly blow.

Prophets tumble temples... residues of tea
highways of no entrance... paths of destiny,
where phantoms haunt my nightmare dreams, tell tales of roaming free.

Foghorns moaning lonely... waves awash in sound
silver schooner sinking... swirling round and round,
at midnight’s stroke, the mainsail broke, and driftwood drifts aground.

Silent seas misshapen... moonbeams painted ***,
teaspoons sifting ashes... fingers cold and numb,
an incandescent candlestick’s impaled the sinking sun.

Smothered fires smoking... oceans filled with ice,
lightning lashing windows... blades from paradise,
like tongues of limpid laughter licking wounds of sacrifice.

Flowing fields of flowers... silent harmony,
rolling river reveries... washing to the sea,
my love, she was my daylight bliss, she once belonged to me.
find beauty in the ugly
when times get hard
and skies darken
billowing thunder
night time harshness
you'll need it
don't let the mind
become too dark to see
that from the rubble of malice
you can build a new greatness
rising and falling and rising and falling
like the ocean front
wave after wave after wave
every sentence has an ending.
but don't let them break you
to stop you from writing the next
find beauty in ugly
for the times
when all you see in the mirror
is hideous tricks of light
assaulting the senses
do it for the times
when you are so high
you kiss the sun
for the times when you fall
for the times when you get up
and for the times when you take off

it has been discovered
by yours truly
that no matter how bad your thighs look when you sit down in ***** shorts
it's ******* worth it
you don't need to sit down anyway
you're a girl.
they'll take you standing up
or anywhere else
they can get you
just wear those ***** shorts,
baby
they say
i got depressed in the middle of writing this

******* **** ******.

you tried to say that i was pretty
and i said i agreed with you
and i wasn't trying to be stuck up
i didn't care if you thought i was pretty
or not
i like me
and that's all that matters
to me
then you said
that sometimes you don't know if im being honest
or if im just giving you
some "spiel"...
...i almost started kicking chairs over
right then
i don't have a ******* spiel
you ******* **** ******
you get lilred undiluted
115% of the time
then you asked me
if i came with a warning label
and i said
like **** i do
"harmful if swallowed"
"handle with care"
then you tried to say something nice
about my eyes
i told you to go to hell

god, i'm good with boys
