Freckles

As you count
The number of
Times the sea
Kisses the shore
I count how many
Freckles I will
Have to kiss
Before my lips and
Your cheeks
Become well
Acquainted
You asked, 'is this your car dear john',
I carried on
speeding
leading you,
and though my eyes were scarred,shut tight
I saw you
to my right and looking like for all the world
a frightened girl
but this was never meant to scare you just to share with you
a moment
up on seaview heights to watch the lights go down
and then to drive
back
to the town.

But speed is needy ever greedy and I must confess to you that I like loving speeding,needing that excitement,
more than you that's heaven sent and I am earthly bound and tied and live to ride the wings that fly in cars where you are looking scared.

I never dared say that before
I put the metal to the floor, just one more flicker on the dial,one more twitch another mile and then we're home
I see relief in your wan smile,
you'll be back
you like to track and trek with me
you'll break your bleedin' neck with me
and only speeding will we see
what will be.
I told you once
but I will say it again:
when you live for Flesh
it's the beginning of the End;

It will take you in,
it will spit you out;
Behold: the Flesh,
and the Power it holds!

Passion is a poison,
laced with Pleasure bitter-sweet.
One of many thistles
that hides deep beneath;

It will take you in,
it will spit you out;
Behold: the Flesh,
and the power it holds!

Touch!
Taste!
Breathe!
Consumed!

Deja vu, already knew
from the first encounter,
But now I know to let go
of Words; to speak no more!

Like a Wind upon your Face:
you can't see it but you know it's there.
When Beauty shows its ugly face,
just be prepared!

Passion burns,
like Fire carried by the Wind.
The End of a Time,
a Time to begin;

It will take you in,
it will spit you out;
Behold: the Flesh,
and the Power it holds!

It builds you up one way,
and tears you right back down.
A Time to begin;
the End of a Time;

It will take you in,
it will spit you out;
Behold: the Flesh,
and the power it holds!

Touch!
Taste!
Breathe!
Consumed!

Deja vu, already knew
from the first encounter;
but now I know to let go
of Words; to speak no more!

Like a Wind upon your Face;
you can't see it but you know it's there.
When Beauty shows its ugly face,
just be prepared!
I'mma be performing this song with a few friends in a week or so;
the lyrics ring true to me on many personal levels..

..and wake you did
hidden deep below where only sleeping men and angels go
and I,
lay watching you in all your splendour as tender thoughts arise from flashing lights within your eyes.
No surprise we stayed in bed
and I,
with cotton candy in my head was led into the sweetness of,
a looking forward to
being in another day with you.

Lips like morphine drip
They numb me and I want more
Please feed my addiction

Skin like alabaster
Touch me with your fluid skin
Quench my thirst for you

Eyes like the night sky
Star filled beneath their darkness
Fill my black holes too

If I could, write down
One perfect word...

I would write down your name
Script or...in cursive
The meaning would all be the same

We just met, but I feel like
you and I have met before

Our chemistry, immediate bond
Keeps me waiting for a little more

I see your heart and honest smile
Are you an angel in disguise?

Your the best I never had
Your the greatest unopened surprise

I sit back, wonder...
What it be like to hold your hand

I sleep and dream about
the idea of being your man

Your everything I hope for
And everything I see

To this girl I just met
I believe in you
I want you too believe in me.

Two strangers, One moment
I wish this night would never end

Maybe we can fall in love?
Give me your heart
Let your love become my plan.

The beautiful scar
deep in green,
peaceful question mark
loops through the field
in which I stand
on ground
soft as a soap-drunk sponge.
The sun,
a lit matchstick-tip
burns all shades of tangerine
and saffron.
The water I hear trickle by,
the water I see
flossing the weeds,
a turquoise flow of blood
from this vein
to the beating heart.

Explanation: A poem written in my own time after taking a look at some early Ted Hughes work - a possible contender for my third year university dissertation.
