Alex Gibson May 2021
Upon my conception into this world
I was a blank slate
Filled with too much envy to explore
Because the generation before
Didn’t bother to explain to me
The rules I would need
In order to make sense of the journey I was to endure
The lessons they obtained
Locked behind the same layer of disdain
I first felt upon my entrance to this new place
And so bit by bit
It was up to me
To obtain the same lessons
Already graced by others in my same place
And so to this day
I still swear
Every generation starts off as a blank slate

— The End —
