You said ,"Go ask Alice ."
I didn't feel ten feet tall .
Actually I wasn't feeling
anything at all .

Ever had one of those incredulous moments when you don't recognize anyone at all ?

Perhaps I should go ask Alice after all ?

Maybe she's the one ten feet tall ?

Maybe I could jump down a rabbits hole .

But all I see are all eyes on me .

So paranoid !

Tis true they see what they want to see outside and not inside of me .

The home team strikes out again and loses just like last "Time" and will again

It was almost the great gig in the sky . . . the elevator out of order , the escalator broken down , leaving just the stairway . . . to the rabbit's hole .

"Whole lotta love?"
was Alice's reply .

I said ,"Any color you like ! It can be just us and them ."

She then smiled but all I could see was a cheshire's grin hanging like a cresent moon .

After all it was the dark side .
Would love be more or less secure it there were an idemnificatoon clause attached to the hearts of the potential parties .

Ran All Out (Kintsugi)
Ran out of hugs
Ran out of kisses
Ran out of loving

That's
the way it always goes
I am just led to superimpose

There is a way
that the sun
glows gold

There is a cup
that will overflow

There is a good moon
rising
just before the dawn

An owl that
doesn't give a Hoot
out on the lawn

A broken heart that
no amount of kintsugi
and gold
will fill the canyons
of cracks and
eliminate the epicanthic soul
.
epicanthic - a prolongation of the upper eyelid that partially blocks the inner corner eyesight .
Kintsugi - The Japanese healing power of laquering broken pieces of pottery together and painting the seams with gold or silver paint .

Rough Start
Even diamonds have  a rough start before they can be shaped up to shine
(1992)

a blazing fire on a rocking horse

a troll doll crushed in a vise

a skull ,
jello ,
chainsaw ,
and other things

Dim : "You asked ?"
"Can't this car go any faster ? Cause I can still see where I am ?"

(no one told you of the trouble you were in  , beyond the words of dim)

"Can't this car go any faster ?"

(that was before your life went dim)

"You should have told me ! Cause I can still see where it was I've been before my life went dim !"

Jesus
When Jesus bled upom the cross
His Father caused the clouds
to hide his eyes .

"Father ! Father ! Why have you forsaken me ?" , were amongst the last words of  Jesus' cries

God had a choice to save his Son
Or to save the likes of us

To save just one or the many
What on Earth would you have done

I know most would choose their own skin
over the likes of him

They do it every day
again and again and again

So you've sacrificed your nothings
expecting huge dividends

Don't be surprised if
God doesn't
turn away his face again and again and again

Race the Life
I race upon the edge of life

Days once dull now
sliced so fast

The partitioning skin opens up

Draining life's essence
into a cup

So dice another second
off

dare I turn to mourn or scoff ?

Another hour or a day

Do my words matter anyway ?

Step off
teleportation's dock

Who keeps candles hidden in a near by box ?

Forget the matches
that can't catch spark

Steps the mystery  of the unknowingly dark

Poetic Coda
You see it all the time
Poems strung out on pain
Shooting up words
destroying refrains
People disguised in their disguise
Pontificating truth in fact lies
Will we be dressed in black tie upon the death as we say adios , goodbye ?

Fallen
My heart fell off her shelf
hit the hard floor
of life
shattering all my
dreams
and all the cracks
fell apart
and it seemed
to be only a ghost
of a chance . . .
or none at all

Whose to blame here ?
After all I opened the door and let you in
Whose crazy idea thought this is finally
my search come to an end ?

So all my hopes are swept under a sea
estranged where all the monsters of my past reign
Below the ***** paws of
dragon flies shame

Talking Owls of Evermore
(Fractured Fairytale #99)

beneath the bends of Barrymoor . . .

on the southwest winds she chants some more . .

the clouds scoot by beneath full moon . . .

some say she's crazy like a loon . . .

dressed in Black she cackles back while tossing ashes from a velvet sack . . .

then she throws her body down . . .

moans and sobs into the ground . . .

a dagger she does draw it forth . . .

holding high for all its worth . . .

she shrieks and damns her birth . . .

then plunges it into her heart . . .

. . . so ends the life of the young ****. . .

now the owls come fluttering in . . .

alighting next to still warm skin . . .

all walk around the disposed young beast . . .

only uttering "Who ?" to say the least . . .

then the Great Owl comes fluttering in . . .

he'd be a giant if he were made of men . . .

he collectively surveys the scene . . .

takes a few steps before he says a thing . . .

"Take her body to Evermore !" . . .

the great one does order and implores . . .

and all the owls take to wing . . .

holding the remains of the breathless thing . . .

and take her earthly shell away . . .

"To the sacred woods of Evermore ."

yes sacredness be in evermore .  . .

Crossed upon the Church
So now you claimed
your victory
In the name of
Our Father up above

Meanwhile you were removing the cross
from your shoulders
and raising it high wearing ****** gloves

You became an empire
demanding praise as if you were a God
All the while trampling down the insignificant and burying under sod

You pass a silver plate expecting food for your selfish thoughts
Without your permission Heaven can't be bought

You pray to lifeless idols made by mortal man
Meanwhile gathering flocks of gold and herds of mansions while flying your jets across the land .

Your fields of salvation
are stuble that fires of justice will race through

Not even releasing enough heat to warm your heart or bones
from the coming cold evening's dew

Tears of Fire
"My drops of tears I'll turn to sparks of fire ."
Shakespeare :
Henry VIII , act II , scene IV

I'm
mixing alcohol
with . . .
my silver tears of fear

While . . .
I'm am
looking back
on all the agony
of my life
whose demise
is now . . .
drawing near

I dream of being Phoenix
with red plumage
and desire
To be consumed
by the tears
I have set on fire

So . . .
let me pour another drink
and
rake the coals of life

Then I'll be
setting my tears
on fire
While waiting
on new life

I remember
I remember all the best
deep when in my midnight's rest

Now I remember the warm moist kiss
that brings tears to my aged dry eyes

I remember riding bicycles under October's cloudy skies

Knowing now there's no answers to all my whys

Now there is no chance
No turning back
No need be looking back for just a glance
Because you won't be there

So the memories have been written off the page
But the recovery has all been staged
Turn your head and say
to the ghosts of another day . . .

   "I wish you well ."

Just as when we were
all so naive in our wildest dreams
We never thought or stopped to learn how to grieve

Now all I can say . . .

       "I wish you well."

John Lennon
From the song "Scared" off the album "Walls and Bridges."

"Hatred and jealousy gonna be the death of me . I guess I knew it from the start ."

I was going to wait until
until December 8, 2030 for the fiftieth anniversary of his death to post this but I'm thinking why wait around so long . "Imagine" that . It's "whatever get's you through the night" . Too much "steel and glass" in this world anyway . Besides "no one loves you (when you're down and out)"
"No one loves you when you're old and gray . No one needs you when you're upside down ."

"I'll scratch your back and you knìfe mine ."

"I'll see you on "cloud nìne" ."

"Cinderella", she said without a frown as she removed her Celine-Block shoes and dropped them into the garbage can .
"They hurt my feet . Anyway barefoot feels so free ."

Why not agree ?

"That was some dance ." I lamented . Then released a nebulous sigh of despair .

She grabbed my wrist ," Don't worry I was so glad to get out of there ."

Death of a Poet
What ?
What are you gonna' do ?
Write a poem ?
Ha ! That's really rich !
The Baptist would send over a casserole and dish . But it's too far away and it would spoil before it could be delivered . How about a card of condolences or flowers . Same ole same so's , not feasible or adequate . Who's loss is it really ? Mine of course !
So I'll sit in my rocking chair on the porch and stare down the memories or lay on my bed of remorse and share the emptiness and wonder about how fast our lives have passed . And of course I'll cut out another piece of my heart and hand it you to take with you on your long journey home wherever it may be .

Rats , mice and poets
All the rats have abandoned ship

The mice are all that remain

The pleas of the poets
for sanctuary have all gone unclaimed

The danger was Titanic
The path clogged by  bergs

The hull was breeched
and icy words pour in

Soon the stacks of stanzas
will slip beneath the reasons

and litter the floor with what was and is and certainly its end .

Silence
The silence
of the lambs
resides inside
the courts
due to our injustice

Taken aback
by the shame
that pains
the hearts
deep within
the depths of us

Then there comes
the desperate silence
standing
at attention

Before the justice
that sees the sins of
of life's retention

Had only we
had listened
to the whispers
in our ears

We wouldn't
be wiping away
our fears
with the salty
taste of tears

Or seen
the visions
imparted
in our eyes

Telling us
the differemce
between the truth
and all those evil lies

Then there is
the silence of submission
awaiting our
due fate

Bookended between
the beginning
and the ending
with everything
at stake

And there are
the sins
of fear , worry, and all of our anxieties

That add to our growing list
of all our
improprieties

Comes that day
silence
will bury deep .
So deep that their seeds will never sprout

Prohibiting the weeds of doubt
that they never come
about

Silence speaks
so loud and clear
without ever making
a sound

The truth is in the silence
so look there
and it will be profound

Can you measure
Can you measure
the love hidden
in the sacred hallows
of our hearts ?

Did you consider the
strength
it would consume
to take it down
and tear it all apart ?

Was it worth
the time it took
gathering the fruit
from the seeds
of shame
you've planted ?

And the harvest of dust
amidst the chaff
was it all for nothing
that you took
for granted ?

Who can measure the
spirit of love
Or direct the purpose
of its cause ?

Or likewise
cast it to the dogs
like the pearls
before the swine
or so they say it was

Who can counsel
the wisdom
found stamped
on the face of all our hearts ?

Who then can destroy
or resurrect
the images
and all of its parts ?
I look inside myself
and see the drops of pain

I look around me and
see a sea of hearts the same

All are seeking comfort
for their losses or their shame

All having their doubts
and fears they will always be the same

A word of consolation
will never be enough

Don't pat me on the back
or give me that silver lining stuff

I need a purer living heart
A comforter of
words will never suffice enough

Someone who takes on the responsibility
for my sins
The sins that had my soul handcuffed

Someone to forgive the iniquity
To wash a soul clean as the wounds would be by rain

Someone I can trust upon
to take away the pain

Neither Here , Nor There
If there
    is
no way out

No path
    of return

No tunnel
     at the end
of the light

It'll be alright

Just when
    I thought
I was going
    somewhere

I find
    myself
Once more ribless
    to someone who
I thought
    cared

Desoulment

I turn back
    into
One lacking

Resurrected without
a soul

Written on the wind
Everyone is looking for their permanence
Looking to empower their staying power
They are just Ghosts
writing their life's story on the wind
The essence is a breath of moisture in the winter's den
They shoot for the moon only to be buried beneath its light
They lay down their cares and breathe their last
Then pull the clouds over and go to sleep for all has passed
What ever happened to Valsa George ?
Not a word for years and of you I ask and do implore
Has she gone on to meet her designated  fate ?
Is it now of me to inquire
because it is now much too late ?
Will her words pass on as well ?
Dumped into the black hole of the internet's Hell ?

Oh , well !

What is will be
May your best be allowed to soar so free
You heard me !
I don't write silly love poems anymore .
At best they become bleak .
They are the ships at sea scuttled by storm .
The aircraft that lose power and crash into the ground .
The miners of affection when the roof comes down .
Don't ask or make a sound .
I'm committed to silence so don't you mess around .
THEIR evermores doomed from first kiss and sworn bliss .
From the cradled vows
to the certain anyhows
Don't ask me about love poems anymore .

There's a nobody

all been undone

A girl in your hands is worth more than two in their bush .
I threw my poem to the wolves
They then tore apart
every word
They swallowed down all the thread
then they languished
for soon they fled

For this was nothin̈g new
Just another sitting
on a Sunday church pew
For every poem has its cross to bear
Before it's cruxified

Dare the day
to raise the light
To dedicate
itself to the Sun's respite

To crush
the shadows
kidnapped

To free the wounds
of fright or plìght

The sunny ray's raucous
crackling whips
Soon the darkness

To hear
the moans of
grinding time
The wheels spin on
as the engines whine

So does the day
dare the night ?
Yes it does

Bitter when weak
Handing out smiles
weak after week
See the bitter in the sweet

The agiest lie about their youth
When falling asleep
they slip , tell the truth

Keeping your wits
at sticks end
When the walls wail
you learn to bend

They paved the path inside your brain
with asphalt , potholes and sewer drains

But you scraped down below their truth
Investigated it like a common sleuth

Discovering the real way
you turned off the sound to what they say
