You leave me bleeding,
With every passing moment I think of how things might have been different,
Wrong place,
Wrong time,
Yet still your on my mind,
The fire in my gut has left me in a rut,
And I have yet to escape it,
If it’s not you it’s me,
Is this how it has to be?

Here one moment but gone the next,
I begin to wonder what will come next.
Our paths are so different,
But they tend to always cross,
Will our destination eventually be the same?
Or are we forced to live this agonizing pain of what if and what could be.
In this world of suffering you bring me comfort.
Like the pattering of the rain on a late night drive you bring me peace.
The beat of your heart against mine as we lay together in the night fills me with joy.
The taste of your lips as we kiss leaves me as breathless as it did the first time.
My feelings for you have never changed,
And I doubt they ever will.
Wrote this while longing for a love that ended up fizzling out.
