There's nothing left,
inside my hollow self.
You took the trust,
created distance with your fist.

There's nothing left,
Of our former wealth.
It's turned to dust,
Just like my crippled wrist.

i.
no matter what your teachers
may tell you, your grades are not a
measure of how smart you are, that
has more to do with how you handle your
heart, and i have never seen anyone love
more fiercely or smart than you.

ii.
i have let boys touch me just because
i was scared to lose them; don't let them
lay a hand on you without you asking
them to, you are worth more than that.

iii.
people will walk away, but you've known
that already.  keep your chin up so that when
they turn back one last time, they know that
you don't need them.
you don't need them.

iv.
i hope you find somebody that holds your
hands, even when you're nervous and
they start to sweat.  if they pull away,
you come find me and i swear,
i won't let go.
i just love her more than words

Barely used
(But it kinda depends on who you ask)
Highly guarded
(Except when sweet-talked...)
Like new
(Except a few foot prints)
Highly Valuable
(Although it has sold for less)
Full of love
(Well, what's left anyway)

These dark clouds are swallowing me,
your cards have been dealt and played out,
just another loss to,
store in the archive,
you probably saw me as,
a burden anyway.

Depression hits like rain,
the pitter-patter sound a tin-roof would make,
pounding down on worn
heart strings, tearing away at sanity.
We're all mad here, loves,

Welcome to insanity.

sometimes perfect suns
stream through my dusty windows
memories of you, in sepia colors undone
the breadth of days long gone

all of this
each time I go
driving by
I like to laugh, just like you.
It's what makes me happy.
But when I see your inner shrew
It hits me where it hurts.

A comedy is meant for laughter.
Tragedy is for the sad.
But what happens when they switch places?
Do things get better or stay bad?

I read a book that made me laugh.
The ending was one of romance.
I want to cry because it's fact.
To have that ending, I have no chance.

And so laughter cures us all.
But when comedy makes you feel sad,
It's best to try to shrug it off.
Because thinking only makes you mad.
