it's not what you say
but what you choose not to
that stabs at my heart

She opens a window
and hopes for the sky
to fall in from outside
and it's tailwind bring

her the moon and the clouds
lined with silver, a crowd
of the finest of stars
and a spare pair of wings..

Do you really even know this person that is me?
Things that you do know are what I choose to let you see.
And are you so perfect to be in a position to judge?
Even to the point that you would want to hold a grudge?
I guess you've never done anything that you regret.
If not, just wait, your life isn't over yet.
It's hard for me to believe that wrong you've never done.
The only difference is that your mistakes aren't visible to everyone.
So go right ahead and believe everything you're told.
Ignore me, hurt me, and treat me cold.
But just remember this, as you're being so bold,
the way that you treat people will come back to you,
tenfold.

I miss the holy ghost of her smile.
The silhouette of her head in the night
on my pillow. Her beauty alight.

She was rain on my fever. Rain
through my window. An innuendo
of heavenly morning light. Heart heavy
as the moon on its way to Montana
  wearing my blue bandana.

She drew her arms out to the crowd
the creatures pulled her in
Simply beauty, make no sound
the forest is seen within

Trees stood high
the yellow birds flew
She stared at the life
and the wild woods grew
her single shot pistol is smoking as you walk in
her blushing bride smile is a dead give away
that something is amiss
he left a ballroom waltz
worth of footprints all over her smile

she persuades you to rent a buick '
and take the pursuit on the road
so the three of us head south on the us-1
to some strange beachside town
where all the girls are bubble gum machines
and the boys are paint by number boxing fans
but we finally catch the thin fatman
sitting on a beach-chair
sipping tea
and lookie-louing yachts from nantucket

she kisses and makes up with him
and you know that your romantic days are over
and she gives no reason but she got a soft spot
for his three piece suit lifestyle
brooks brothers got nothing on him
he gets his threads form the five and dime
pockets full of pickles
bread in his thinning hair
