Poems Are Found
Stanley Nov 2018
Poems aren't written,
they're found,
Somewhere in your head the words are waiting,
They're sprawled across the floor,
You just need to pick them up,
Make a path with them,
Let your path guide observers,
And if you can't write,
Walk down somebody's else's path first,
First poem I've written, to anybody who reads this is hope you enjoyed it and it made you day a little better

My lips a dam
Stanley Nov 2018
I saw you today,
I tried to say "hello",
but my lips were a dam,
And the words wouldn't flow,
My heart wanted to speak,
But my brain wanted to go,
And so I left,
on its command,
based on a line from a different poem of mine hope you enjoy

Shift
Stanley Feb 2019
I would shift the mountains,
I would tame the sea,
Just so I am next to you,
And you are next to me.

Hello
Stanley Feb 2019
My person to chase,
My unreachable star,
Forever out of reach,
Never quite there,
It takes is a little courage,
It takes seven letters,
And that would be a new chapter,
We wouldn't be worlds apart.
First poem in a while, hope you enjoyed.

Here I Sit
Stanley Apr 2020
Here I sit outside,
On this violent summer day,
The streets the seem to whisper,
All the stories they could say,
Above me a bee,
It could be from here,
Or rather far away,
But how rare and beautiful a thing it is to see,
So I sit here,
All day.
Hope you like it

You know,
In all my travels across this land,
I've wondered who deals the hand,
The cards no one wants to play,
But they continue anyway,
