Two o'clock shadow at 8 am
Another late night, beer again
Eyes red dry and sore
Un ironed shirt from night before
Mind won't focus can't concentrate
Why did you drink again so late
Your body is drained and wearing out
Get some help your times run out

Someone once said
"Everyone will have a last day with you."
The thing is you will never know when?
It could be their first day with you.
It could be their worst day with you.
It may have been the greatest day they ever had.
But will you know.
Would knowing change you?
Maybe this was your last day.

Netflix tonight!
The man of the house said
She said "Lets watch a chick flick"
  But he wasn't having that.

"Let's watch Brando it's a classic"
was his next idea,
Last Tango in Paris!
Have you never seen it my dear?

They sat together watching with smart price popcorn and cheap wine
Then came the scene where the old boy grabbed the butter and suddenly it was all in the gutter

Engrosed and engorged or a mix of the two, he shouted get some butter,
"I'll try that with you"

It looked fun at first till she got to his fridge
She opend the door and no butter could she see.
Smart price lard was all that was there, this wasn't Chester oh what a mess

We have none she said in a voice of relief
And headed for bed without a buttered rear seat

Half an hour later then came the shock
The cook came to bed with dripping on his ****
Naked and ****** and wanting a bunk
She fled the bedroom before he could mount

In a nighty like a wigwam caught in the breeze and her funbags unbridled
Down to her knees

She screamed to the neighbours he's trying to **** me with a lard coverd **** and an oversize belly

The police came quick, just like he did
They couldn't stop laughing at his melted dipstick
Take him away the Sgt said
That's the last Tango in Noctorum
He'll have with her!!

If someone is late
Does it mean they disrespect you?Their child may have needed reassurance before they left.
Clearly more important than you needing it when you meet.

If someone is late to a date.
Were they late because they tried so hard to make a great impression because they like you?
Yet all you can do is see a flaw.

If a woman is late doing her make up think yourself lucky.
If she isn't happy with it the evening will be strained.
What's 20 minuites?

If someone is late meeting someone. Maybe it is because they stayed too long with you.
Because you needed them.
Never complain then do you?

So explain late to me?
Because late seems to be the full use of their time as far as I see it.

A crisis

Its gonna be ok

Do the ends caress what's whithin?
A play upon words, a facade of what is beneath
The pages inside the book now seldom seen
Placed upon a shelf no longer to read
Or the reader did not understand the thread
The plot not to their taste or their perception hazed
Or picked up when in the mood pages turned then put down
Then cast aside unfinished
So what now of this book?
Do you open it's cover and look
Does the cover, it's front and back
Protect the story held inside
The photograph, the front of course the eye catches first or the spine with inviting words
The title that hides the tale inside, cries and smiles truth and lies
Hardback in a true disguise, more costly but often satisfies a weighty tombe a work of size
Holding the story tight, until the time is right
Or softback invitingly there to see
Oh please oh please open and look beneath
The cover so often is a pale facade
No relevance to what's within its charge
For the story may have no end or may need to be re written again
Each reader sees a different thing
The written words scribed as a life I yearn to know what's inside
Though many books are there to see
What is it you really want to read?
Is it the story of an open heart or a drama
Now closed by a reader far to harsh
The story of a persons life like Dickens forgotten bride
Or can it be read by others, when the time is right
A classic re visited late at night, giving the reader warmth and delight.
So reader choose your book with care for taste in books is a "soul"preserve
A photo is a snapshot a moment held In time
like the cover of a book.
A book of a life.
A Scottish/Irish word
A historical volume
A snapshot in time.

Fall so hard the ground fractures
Feel it shake your core
Get up to broken surroundings
Cries of woe all around
You never saw the edge
Or how you missed your step
But your life lies broken
Alone because of her

Black holes and nebulae
Planets and stars
Phasers on stun
So no one was harmed

Black and white
Then colour and films
You were a kids hero
The stuff of dreams

Enterprise went to the stars and beyond
Tackled apartheid and other taboos
Never faltered and because of you

So Mr Spock we say Farwell
You were a hero to many a child
Go now on your journey
One to beam up
You lived long and we prospered
From knowing you

Ever wanted to just hold a ***?
Both hands squeezing all the fun!
But I've seen that deriere in a different way.
Wanton naked and in the air
Inviting and wanting asking to be touched
Only a fool wouldn't respond to such.
She held me and guided me inside of her
Then I realised I shouldn't be there.
I wanted more, not just a visit.
I knew it was wrong and I ran from it.
In the morning I knew I had been to a place that I had imagined but couldn't explain
It was not how I wanted it to be, I wanted passion and fire and had made a mistake
Maybe one day there may be a chance
To be there again bathed in romance
To be the one who made the difference
Is it so much to ask? Instead of existing.

I wandered lowly as a star, well I shopped in Ruthin in the spar!
A birthday now sneaks up on me it's 40+ oh whoopee
So what now can I expect from life, I've married divorced and been a wife!
I've ridden, fallen and paid the price and lived my bucket list like fire
My kids so far my greatest work, tried politics but full of nerds.
The parallel is simple enough they drop their stuff I pick it up.
So the world sidewalks into the abys, wear factor 50 to help with it
As carbon gas heartache earth and we all go grey and loose our worth
I opted out and moved to Wales my little family I shall save
Just one thing left I need to do ...
Find a hunk to chop some wood
One who isn't thick upstairs and makes my winter's warm as well

Never date anyone looking for a lifeboat.
The problem is lifeboats are for the short term until they get picked up by a ship or find land. You're then left up **** creek without a paddle!

Numb lied upon to long
Wake up arm it's time to move
******* brain! Oh hark at you
You can't get the legs to get you up too
Jack Daniel's runs through the mortal frame
The livers working flat out again
A good night was had by all
The eyes and ears won't work at all
So another hour or two in bed
To let the hangover go away

Watching an inappropriate romance
Between two who can never be one
The chats that skirt around reality
The laughter only they know
The passion in words so simple
The fact that neither of them know
All they have in the world
Is the words when they say hello
No one there sees it
Only one thing remains
They fell in love forever
In a bookstore that day
This popped into my head watching the film Dan in real life.

Slowley, a step at a time
Intensely focused, listening
For the ice she walks upon strains
It strains to hold her
He waits to hurt her
She never hears it crack
Never ever
But feels the pain of the blow
The hurt, the erosion
Each time the ice becomes thinner
Thinner until she dares not walk
Dares not talk
Then she is lost
Then a life raft
An escape
He is gone
He is exposed
Now who's scared
Tricky one this for a friend who broke the cycle and had an abusive partner locked up. For L. Though she will never read it.

Tousled hair,  bare footed, wind in her face and sand between toes she runs to the water, doesn't notice it's cold.
Screams with delight as she splashes the waves, clothes drenched not a care.
Castles built and moats filled, then a photo shoot with a massive grin
These are the days I can never forget, a photo to cherish for ever more.
The day we went to the shore.
For my daughter

With due diligence she completes her task
Her fluorescent pen working flat out
Multi coloured no less adding importance
Then staples bashed and ready to go
There seems now a delight in her work
Demob happy counting down the days
Tearing the days of the desk diary
September will be here soon enough
I then imagine her retirement writing labels
Plants with little tags in the garden
Jars neatly stacked, labels all compliant
A new found order to disorder
An organised mind conquering the world
Micheal Wolf Apr 2014
The noise of the night now comforts me. The stove creaks as it cools, jets decend to the airport and the traffics throng wains.
The day unwinds, its events now memories already. Each event, each thought like a train on its own little railroad, disapearing into the depths of the mind. When morning comes a clean slate. Then within seconds the thoughts that dwell, stress and depress, once again tear along the tracks till they overwhelm you. They just circle the mind on little railroads. No journey to speak of.

There is a place inside,
Deep
Hidden.
You won't see it on xray or scan
It has no Latin name
It has no mass or form
It has a name

Loneliness

God looked down and began to laugh
"Look at the mess they made of Earth"
You had it all the best I've made
You burnt and poisoned everything
You torture **** and genocide
Leave no place for good to hide
Free will my greatest of mistakes
You killed my son and walked away
The devil seems to have control
I wash my hands of you all.

I saw the sun and the clouds today
The sun kept peeking out trying to play
Then tonight the stars they came too
Of course they just reminded me of you
But you're not here just the cold lonely moon
But in my head you were never gone
So wherever you are and what ever you do
Look up at the moonmI'm looking too
For Charlie my daughter

Scanning the lines looking inside
Trying to see what makes him tick
****** to whit, satire to rhyme
Diversity hides what's inside
Is it tender or blunt, cutting or lust
What drives him to pick up a pen
What does he see that others miss
How do the words take shape?
A mind alive with a million thoughts
Each fighting to make the cut
He simply writes what he feels
To him simply enough
Micheal Wolf Feb 2013
Behind closed doors you do not see how she cares for three
A mother, her children, her whole life's work
From dawn till dusk, day after day
The best for them in every way is her soul purpose in this world
Granted all mother's are not like this, but who are you to interfere?
Self appointed village snout to dig in others business now
You chat and pass your poison on, all make believe as facts you've none
You curtains twitch you evil witch, you make it up to feel complete.
A man knocks, a family friend, but in your mind she's on the game
Another calls to fix a light, in your fantasy world he stayed the night
Are you so shallow yes so bereft ? Your purpose to destroy this nest
A parasite is all you are and yet you claim to have a heart
The authorities will always listen and their attent fueled you mission
How comforting it is to you, thou feel complete you've mixed a brew.
You got it wrong and all you've done is show her as a brilliant mum
All evil has a price you know, you may be old and need someone
A friend to pick you off the floor when the reaper visits your abode
Cry oh cry oh cry out loud, but no one comes to help you out
You burnt your bridges, no neighbour's love, no time for you do others have
Why you ask can this be so ? The answers simple and you should know

Because they don't look behind closed doors.
Written as a tribute to a Norwegian mother.

I looked at stars in the night
I danced to dreams in my mind

Then all around me was dark
No one to hear my voice

Then I heard the music of life
Flooding my soul like light

Louder than I'd heard before
No one could hear my heart roar

Then, then it began to fade
All that was here was no more

All now around me was dark
No more to dance to now

Everything gone far away
So I must sleep once, again
Micheal Wolf Jul 2018
Last night I looked up to the stars
But the clouds got in the way
The stars were still there
Waiting for another day
The clouds come and go
Night after night
Just look up
It will be alright.
Micheal Wolf Jun 2013
A wave of apathetic lack lustre discontent washes over me
As though my day, my dealings are simply unnecessary
Lost, empty and without purpose
No focus no goal, no rainbows end
Simply existing, not living
Turned out for a reason and walked away
Back to the mundane
Back to being simply here
Micheal Wolf Jul 2013
They spoke of her fondly, though in jest
For walking the street she was the best
In younger days with flaxen hair
She escorted fellows everywhere
The years went by she lost her looks
He clients came from local pubs
She often gave them what they needed
And sometimes a few diseases
For her teeth had gone her virtue lost
The drugs had made her pay the cost
A *** workers life is one of knocks
Violence pain and abused till death
The only peace she will get
So when you joke about her life
Suggest a drain plug to dry her out
You talk of someone's little girl
Who was failed by all in this world
No love to hold her close at night
No child to squeeze her tight
No family to mourn her death
No one even knows her name
As she's buried in paupers grave.
In response to a  comment.
A ******* found dead
she probably she needs a drain plug fitting

Let's hope your daughter never looses her path.

I have seen love
I have felt its tremulous
I have lost love
I have felt its void
I have yearned for love
I have known its command
I have envied love
I have been left cold
I have needed love
I have been left wanting
I have no love
I walked away
I alone

Love.
Love what?
Their touch ?
Their scent?
The way they smile?
Their laugh?
How they sleep?
Their laughter?
Their tears?
Their weakness?
Their strength?
Or simply
Love them
Micheal Wolf Jun 2015
Painted moons and  rainbow sky
Unicorns and butterflies
A princess for him
A prince for her
But continents divided them
Her friend said go on give it a try
But time zones confuse a goodnight
Hard to hold a vacant slot
When you're asleep and they are not
So love doesn't see a postal code
Flesh and blood sadly does
So once again fate plays a part
In keeping lovers
Far
Apart
A friend's comment sowed a seed
Micheal Wolf Apr 2013
Quiet it's been your all content loved up with your partner again
Not a word a call or text to say hello or how's you mate
Until the demon drink takes place
Then remarkably you remember and text
Always when I'm trying to sleep
Where's the partner while you speak
All loved up or so you said
No other love exists in the world
Yet here we are you have had a drink
Your thoughts they seem to lie with me
Though thoughts are not reality
Lifes moved on for you and me
You have it all! I lost the lot
You were blamed, funny that!
So being friends was all we were
Others saw a lover there
Last night my phone was turned off
An early night as I'm worn out
This morning you will see no reply
For good or bad you decide
Micheal Wolf Jan 2016
I could see fragility in her eyes I had never seen there before
For my friend always smiles, always has counsel for others, always there, even when she is hurt this is different, painful too see
Too try to explain that look in any child’s eyes would be almost impossible
Lost, empty, fearful, distraught
Seeing it in a grown woman’s face was no different.
Week by week I see her face
It counts down in anguish, like a clock
Irony some call our faces clocks!
But I swear it counts down with each view, the sadness weighs the skin, and the eyes try to hide the hurt
Not detracting from her beauty, oh no
At fifty she still has the looks of a woman a decade younger, at least, and the body to complement that, but her voice is her jewel
Listening to her sing has brought laughter and tears to many, but, I digress
I can't help the one who helps everyone else
The one who always does her bit and more and more often for the unappreciative
I just listen
To watch one you love leave this world is agony
To watch a parent, unimaginable, slow and heartbreaking
The fragility in those eyes is love in its entire splendor
The tears for a man who only ever gave, she was one of his greatest gifts
Soon he will leave and leave behind a precious heart
One of the kindest I have ever known
But those eyes I don't think will ever be the same
But look closely for another star will twinkle in them
That light carries on
Micheal Wolf Mar 2013
Love is blind
Deaf and dumb
When your young and full of ***
As you age it gets fuzzy
Scared your mistakes will catch you up
When your old only then you know
Which was the love that you let go
Micheal Wolf Jun 2013
Don't over use them or forget their worth
I know it's only three small words
But spoken loud for all to hear
As a train leaves you shed a tear
Spoken softly by your child at night
Fills your body with warmth inside
Slow and cold at the end of the affair
Like hearing a shot ring through the air
Yet said by many as false platitude
Whilst kissing cheeks is over used
What is missed is not the words
For the feeling simply can't be heard
So as I kiss your cheek whilst you gently sleep
Or hold your hand whilst you weep
Or make you smile at a silly joke
Knowing only you have understood
That is love in all its parts
Not just I love you said out loud
If used to much it losses weight
The words are lost and have no place
For my friend Anja Lindtner a rather good writter, observational columnist and mother.

Waves of emotion stir the surface of it's sea
A sea deep, uncharted yet sailed upon
It's currents are passionate thoughts
The depths filled with shadows of lost lovers past
Her shores are washed with boundless opportunity
Many storms have changed the lands its touched
Now it's waves are calm and simply ripples
For loves dark shores are days away
Adrift in the Sargosa sea that is my love
A love for all yet reasoned for one
Micheal Wolf Jan 2017
They say say it with flowers
Or shout "I Love You" in German to scare them.
Actions speak, words don't!
A drunken text means they miss you.
Is there a guide to this ****?
Because there needs to be!!
Micheal Wolf Dec 2013
Love thy neighbour,  so the Bible says
But dont covet his wife it will get you in strife!
Don't look at her body when she calls
Ignore her curves and her beconing calls
Your wife suggested you helped her out
Does she really now what its about?

That day you called when he was out
It wasn't those tools it was all about
All so innocent till she touched your chest
It went downhill and then to bed
A frantic tryst one afternoon
Cries off passion and moans were heard
Then hubby came home and saw you there
The game was up amongst other things
Two marriages ruined and a family split
All for the sake of a bit of "it"

For the wife had watched and often seen
The postman or the huge marine
She had plans all her own
And saw the means to make them so
Sow the seed and watch it grow
A perfect plan to get divorced
All she needed to pull it off
Was for them to be caught
A perfect plot

She hadn't planned on the neighbours anger
When he saw another bang her
So both barells he loosed into them
And sent upstate for ****** two
Far more than her plan had ever required
And now no alimony as hubby died!!

So love thy neighbour is all well and good
Just don't get caught if your stupid enough!
Micheal Wolf Mar 2013
Picture yourself unemployed, your life now in bin bags
With no home, no car and no roof over you
No food no boots no one to hold onto
You children don't recognise you

Whilst high on a hillside the political powers dine upon luxury food
Sipping their champers drinking your money
And looking down upon you

Using your money to fund and support all of their business intrests
Taken your life away, nothing left today

Lucy in the park with TB
Lucy in the park with TB
Lucy in the park with TB
ohh OOh Poor Lucy

Morning has come and her fingers now blue her face is dark and won't move
Her daughter can't wake her she cries "oh mummy"the coalition have killed you..
The government killed here with policy cuts and media lies each day
Cameron and Clegg Lining their  pockets as more more people die
Lucys now gone on a boat to the heavens
the ferryman took her away took her today

Lucy died in the park with TB
Lucy in the park with TB
Lucy in the park with TB
Poor Lucy
Oh wow
An un complementary ballad to the coalition government

I can't sing you a lulaby
Ive no words to help you sleep
I cant singng you a lulaby
Because you're not here with me

Oh I can't mend your broken heart
I cant take away your pain
I cant sing you a lulaby
It isn't for me to sing

Tomorrow you will wake up
So tired and so alone
Face the day half awake
Longing to go home

For no one sings a lulaby
No one sings to you
You wouldn't hear it if I did
The words wont get through

Night after night he dreams of you
It's all that he can do
Singing you a lulaby
But it never gets to you
Been on the back burner a while. May end up as a song
Micheal Wolf Apr 2015
Flames burn where there is no fire, when one loves but lacks desire.
The racing hearts that fire the blood, only to make one night of lust.
When fingers twisted and palms held tight.
When sighs are murmured and souls ignite.
When shouts of pleasure fill a room, Is it love or lusts soulful tune.
When abscent from you do you feel your heart race?
Your heart goes faster as you see their face.
A photograph of one not there.
Does that define how much you care?
When no word from them is spoken, when silence is all you have.
Is that when its over, if it ever began.
So who you think of reading this, is that the face you long to kiss.
Is that the soul that draws to you, becons, calls, oh please be true.
If there again when you awake, that picture in your mind again.
Then did you tell them?
Do they know?
Another day, lost alone.
So seize the day the cold cliche that's yelled as men go into battle
Is no longer what our souls need, this fights more nocturnal.
Embrace the night and hold her tight, If only in your dreams.
For when you wake the daylight brings the dawn of many things.
Micheal Wolf Sep 2013
The madhatters tea party to me now seems sane
As my life isn't simple and everything strange
I seems I'm not worthy and just all because
I dont have a crystal ball or a magic wand
Anything I say or do is simply just wrong
I wonder why im even here at night when I'm alone
Is it to provide a person for you to rant at
Someone to blame and call a ****
All of your problems of course that was me
You're perfect and can't possibly be you
Well I'm tiered and worn down and no more can I do
So vent your spleen and all of your woes on someone else
As I am now closed.

A horses head in my bed who did I upset.
Was it what I did or didn't say to make her angry in such a way.
It isn't fun to wake that way, not a great start to the day.
I wonder if I'd been worse would it be mine and not the horse!
Micheal Wolf Aug 2014
I want to be locked in a closet next to you and feel your breath on my cheek.
I want you to wake and look for me and know today will be okay.
When you look at a view, turn to share it with me.
Tell me all you have to say, then fall asleep with me each day.
Look at your phone and laugh out loud, when you read the nonsense that I've sent.
Pinch my *** as I walk past, declaring it yours and making it known that other women can find their own.
Fall asleep and dream away for you I can wait another day.
Something and nothing.
Micheal Wolf Sep 2013
I was born an agnostic, though I knew not what one was
As a child I was taught religion, though I knew not of gods
I was indoctrinated to believe in god, but there was no evidence too be seen
As I teenager I was taught science, the proof was all around me
I began to question god, and I began to embrace atheism
I was told I was a bad person, I had no morals or faith
Yet my faith in mankind lay in all creeds not just yours
As an adult I had learnt enough to know, to know I was an agnostic
Those who believed in god believed themselves good and for that, would be rewarded in an afterlife
Those who disbelieved in god, believed in this life and practiced good
Much has been done, good and bad under the banners, in  the name of god and good
I'd rather see things done in the name of mankind
For we are mankind not godkind
We never were

A man rides on a horse
Yet he only owns a donkey
He sleeps with a mistress
Yet he has a wife
What defines him as a man?
His possessions or his actions?
He never owned the horse
The mistress abandoned him
The wife betrayed him
The car was repossessed

What defined him?
A man of our time?
Not my time

Hidden in plain sight
There unseen yet seen by all
Unnoticed as though shielded
More of a protective camouflage
Designed to peer out
Yet not see in
A most effective deterrent to invasion
Keeping what out exactly?
A physical presence
Or an emotional
Still you hid in plain sight
Blending, unnoticed
In a bubble
Can't be seen
So won't be bothered.

I am me.
I am am an assortment of men to others.
Different to each person.
Unique to all.
The same to none. Adventurous to some.
Stoic to others.
But for one I will be all or nothing at the same time.
