I forgot what it was like
To have you around...
I forgot how to speak my mind
How to speak my heart out
I forgot how to sing
I forgot what it was like to have an open heart
Because no matter how I turned it around
When I was upset with you
Nothing can hurt me
When you're here

Nothing could ever touch us
I cast no blame
It was our Karma
That seperated us
But with new belief
I look forward to having you around again
I cannot believe the blessing
You have been to me
The idea of smelling your soft scent again
Not the memory of it
But your actual scent
Gives me peace

You give me peace
You give me song
You set me free
You give me dance
I wanna rock'n'roll all night
and party everyday
I know nobody ever understood
Our friendship
But I think that without
Really understanding it myself
There's is Tao within it
There is Source within it

You open my heart
And I finally figured out
Why it closed in the first place
I'm not scared when you're here
The worst thing
That could happen to me
Was that you left
And we survived that too
But you haven't been Home
For a long time
I guess I just need you

With this in mind
I feed the probability
With the softest whisper
From my heart
come home
come home
*come home my friend
Dynamic Duo needs some upgrading <3
You don't make me braver, you give me peace

I have this friend across the pond
As bright as clear-night stars
Intelligent and talented
And faster than souped up cars

But she has her flaws, alas
As all the best poets do
I know this to be a fact, of course
Who hasn't got one or two?

After all, it has to be said
Perfection is lack of character to me
So I'm keeping my eye on my talented friend
And watch as her mind flies free

read all the ones who came before. From Sappho, to the King James Old Testament, to the graffiti artist who scratched that quip on the bathroom wall.

2. read your words, out loud, when no one listens. Make sure all the stops and starts fall in all the right places. Make sure the words all sound like they belong where you put them. Be honest with your ear.

3. be transparent. Remembering - it is easier to be straightforward with strangers than with the people in arms-reach. You have to start somewhere.

4. be modest. Merit will always outshine bravado.

5. be full of heart. There are no prizes for stringing fifty cent words together on a string. Clever and poetic are too entirely different animals.

6. not every thought deserves to be a poem. Learn to separate the chaff from the wheat. Be discerning and your readers will honor you.

Things get broken
Hearts
Minds
It's no-one's fault
It never is
Not really
Butter fingers and distraction
Without malice or forethought
Things
Like hearts and minds
Slip
And shatter on hard contact with reality

the night is young
you said to me
we'll write our song
of lovers free

with love so fierce
passion bold
my heart you pierced
soul you stole
Thank you for entering my life, making me family and creating safe harbor. I hope I am able to reciprocate in some small measure...
