Twisted Poet
I was a gifted child. Until I wasn't. I was the golden girl. Until I couldn't burn anymore.
My parents expected me to build wings of gold and fly further than anyone could ever try. I don't blame them, having a child to raise is like sculpting a clay ***, you can shape it the way you like, paint it the color you fancy. To raise a child is to play God. To raise a child is to be God.
But to be a child is to fall, to make mistakes, to fail. The thing about being too bright at an early age means you burn out by the time you're 16 and suddenly the world around you becomes more gray and terribly, terribly lonely. The fire is never warm enough, nothing is ever enough. And one day you find yourself begging to a godless sky, begging for a new spark.
When you have
to buy time
it's likely
you'd face
some undesirable outcome
Just like that, outta the blue
I realize that no matter what I do
There'll never ever be another you
And it hurts like hell...
Btw, how great is Chet Baker??
The deepest prayer
has no words
for such can't
be located

like the wind felt
but can't be seen
like the veil
that's hidden

the self in worship
faithfully dwells in union
with the Absolute
nothing need be spoken:

the deepest prayer
is in silence heard
by the Universal Receiver
more sublime than any spoken word.

We are drifters in time
carried by its ceaseless tide
which direction it will take
we can't ever decide

so few indeed will say:
' pleasant is the ride':
  the voyage will be rough
and restless, full of fear and plight

The smile of the old person
from that of the young does widely differ
it hides an element of sadness
    which words can't properly utter-

youth is too proud and too sure
and knows not yet what it is to suffer
the Via Dolorosa it hasn't experienced
it has miles upon miles wisdom to discover

Memory
is more powerful
than reality
despite its unreliability
