Rested on a Mammoth
Rock by the sea,
Watched the waves
Roam free like
Tales of
Ancient
History.

Optimistic,
The answer to
Every First World woe
That plagues the soul.
Optimistically,
I must wake each day,
As it's hard to tell
What lies ahead, anyway.
Optimism prevails, always.
If only it was
That simple.
The only answer
Is to see the world
Optimistically.
Easier said than done,
Sometimes,
It flies too high
Like a caught Dragonfly,
Leading to dread and disappointment
When captured in the mouth
Of a ravenous bluish bird, big appetite.
Against all odds,
Remain
Optimistic.

bulletcookie
black coffee with eggnog
swims in swirls of holiday
mixture's of light and dark
as winter approaches stark

these beverage clouds balloon
heavy with rain and cold
sweeping over stillness strewn
in city parks, and streets all told

walk along with cup in hand
listen to the autumn round
here this wind plays Honalee
in Emerald City by the sea

My mind drifts at the thought of what it would feel like
To share your blanket with you;
Letting words cover me head to toe with your many layers.

Hidden pockets of warm down filling,
I’d get lost there forever if you’d promise to never let go...

I can’t quite put my finger on this—
The world continues to spin
On its axis, and thoughts dance
On imagination’s stage like toy soldiers,
Ballerinas, and stacked wooden dolls
Come to life in this far, far away vision.
Eyes open in a dream within a dream,
Where you think you have awoken,
But you are still deep in Dreamland.
