Spark
Haley Nicole Nov 2020
How can I miss the days
I tend to hate the most
Those days that made my soul
Shimmer with a spark

The days all pass with ease
Until those sparks draw close
Then I speak differently
No diacritical mark

I knew who used to know me
But, who knows what's innermost
My mind is always asking
Can't be still, like a shark

If fear and loneliness, were drugs
I'd know an overdose
I try to see the light
But everything lost its spark

I wish I could forget
Those day I tend to miss the most
My pain is stuck on me
Just like a visible birthmark

It made me who I am
It's beautiful, like the coast
While you can try to forget
The past, it is a loan shark

It will hunt you endlessly
Hunter searching for its roast
It will not ever stop
Until your eyes have no more spark

The secret is to give
Everything, almost
And live with what you got
You need to find your own spark

The days may get longer
And the end will draw close
Live your life, it's yours
Your spark can be your mark

It seems my grieving time
It is done, adios
Living with everything
Well, that's my trademark

I wish my words could give you
What you need the most
But trust me, only you
Know your own spark

New Moon
Haley Nicole Feb 2021
The world should be over
I could not sleep a wink
The glow coming through the window
Didn't help my mind not think

The sadness that enveloped me
Felt as warm as your glow
Your usually beauty
Felt like something I'd never know

As I sat there staring
Feeling alone in my home
I was hit with a necessity
To get out there and roam

Your quiet watchfulness
While I struggled to feel me
Was just what I needed
To set all my feelings free

While you and I felt the pain
Together, just us girls
If my pain could be jewels
We'd be swimming in pearls

While it was time for your rebirth
It seemed to be my time as well
Your gorgeous open face
My pain, you helped me quell

Sensational Death
Haley Nicole Nov 2020
Death is hearing whispers,
Saying words,
That only insecurity speaks;
From friends.

Death is seeing,
The eyes of a man,
Who just wants to take;
Steal you.

Death is tasting hate;
That coppery tang.
When you're surrounded,
By those previously trusted.

Death is feeling the blood,
Outside of your veins.
Just to ease,
The blooming pressure.

The stench. That stench.
It burns my nose.
The stench of death.
We will all know.

Death is not close,
Until Death isn't far.
I'm a beginner. Criticism is appreciated!

My friend asked me to join her writing group and I've gone for the past few weeks and I decided to try their angel of death prompt. I decided that the angel of death is all around us and she comes in different senses.
