THE TREES STILL TELL THE STORY

the trees approach the house
then: stop suddenly when
a door opens

the door throws down
a rectangle of light
the dark draws back

the trees hold their breath
the door withdraws the light
the trees creep closer

the trees peep in
the window &
gasp

a human and
another human
naked by the fire

the magical spell
of human laughter
the dark cringes

the trees mystified
one human entering
another human

"What, sorcery is
...this?"
the trees hold their breath

dawn grabs night
by the scruff of the neck
throws it to the other side of the earth

the trees still not
quite believing what they have seen
they sing green

the trees reaching out
their hands for light
and birds

the trees wearing
birds
on their fingers

"Shhhh...shush!"
the human and another human
asleep in each other's arms

At Totleigh Barton the trees outnumbered the humans so I thought I'd let the trees do the telling about the mysteries of humans being humans. A tree story in a very human way.

Couldn't make out the inscription even when there! "A pool is a coin..."

Act 5; scene 3

You shuffled off your mortal coil
at the wrong **** time.
The  denouement Is not here yet.
Your death left
footprints into ,Dunsinane with
your Lady,  Me.

We had plans and schemes.
We didn't finish the play.
Dunsinane was ours. Your
birthday of will.

The rescue was sold out.  You
we're a hit.  The Scottish play
was untroubled. Your crown
cleaned.  You stumbled into
the play's last act.

That I must go on alone out of this
creaking pasture, this mudhole,
to be traversed without you
is a remarkable lapse in your
Ordinary

My hands hurt for the rubbing
of them.  I am alive because
you aborted the play.

Return to me. I have paid
Dearly

for this ticket that was

meant for two.

Don't tell me you know the pain I'm feeling
When the breath isn't breathing
and I'm still bleeding
and my baby isn't crying

When there is no rise and fall
and the nurses walk out and go in the hall

When her blue eyes close
And I count all her toes

When I kiss her forehead
When I cant tuck her in and put her to bed

When the life I gave is put to rest
And all my faith is put to the test

When I say goodbye
13 minutes after saying hi

So please
Don't compare the death of my child to the death of your dog
It's not liking losing a family member
although I'm not disregarding your pain
just please don't compare it

My daughter was here on this earth
too beautiful for this life
Too good to be an ordinary person

She had to be an angel
and I had to let her go.

As I get older,
What I used to crave for myself
Has fallen like baby teeth
What I desire now
Is so much simple
but holds so much value
I crave peace
Peace for humanity
Peace for all
I crave peace of words
A piece of mind
like Peace with God
Inner and outer peace
peaceful home
Peaceful schools
Peaceful prayers
Financial peace for all
peaceful environment
Peace, peace, peace
A peaceful sleep
A peaceful planet
Like this peaceful poem
under these beautiful peaceful sunsets
Peace For the Ukrainian people.
