Blue skies, blue waters
Free zone, no borders
Mind is clear, no clutter
Calm ambience, no mutters
Shiny sun, soft breeze
Mind at ease
Skin's glowing
Heartbeats' regular, no racing
Attuned with nature
Fully self in this moment.

I am trying to write
But how can I,
when I'm in the writer's block.
My poetry book has been complaining
She said, recently it's been really lonely,
She hasn't felt the fingertips of my pen on her skin
I told her to put all the blame on me,
I'll make it up to you
But for now, let me hit the snooze.

Success can happen overnight
But prior to that are
many days and nights of hardwork,
shedding blood, sweat and tears.

It's not abnormal to have self-doubt
But don't let it cut your power out
Your mind might be asking many questions
Still, don't let that distort your vision
Your abilities are legit
You own them, so hone them
Don't be deceived, you're a perfect fit
Don't bring yesterday's pain into today
Don't let the thoughts of tomorrow put you in dismay
You have all that it takes,
To be the person you were destined to be
Just be careful of the words you speak
You will be fulfilled as long as your heart beats.

When greed and the insatiable hunger for power
Becomes the drive for our daily actions
We tend to give little or no respect to others
Sadly, many today are living in this fashion
Which explains the current condition of things in our world

The love of money supersedes the regards
given to humans and the environment
Corporations are raking money almost
at every living things' detriments
It's almost certain that these destructions will never end
Hope we don't end up ending humanity.

What is it about money
that turns best buddies into worst enemies,
turns brothers into one another's hater (or even killer)
So many chase money while losing family
It makes me question if money truly brings happiness?
I've heard of very wealthy people who
committed suicide
I've seen poor people living happily
Surely there is more to life than money
Still on the subject of money,
Is life incomplete without it?
Is life complete with a lot of it?

Out there are so many distractors,
Stealing our personal time with the Saviour
Instead of giving our attention to the Master
We have become attention addicts
In order to get a fix of attention,
We give our time to the things that don't matter
I wonder if that is the enemy's tactic
Planting bad seeds on our field
We have to act as the gardener that we are
We are to remove all impurities
And give our focus to the one who deserves it,
The Master!

Before I ever came into being,
I was first your selection
Then, you gave me life by
Breathing into my nostrils

I, wonderfully and beautifully made
In the likeness of Your own image
I, clothed and showered with Your love
Yet chose to disobey Your single law

Because of my disobedience,
Your blood had to be spilled
That I might be recreated into a new being
Yet I haven't given you total preeminence

The things that I wish not to do,
I find myself doing (even over & over again)
Still, your love for me hasn't moved an inch
From the deepest and innermost part of my being,
I just want to thank You Lord.

Since the day I found out that
there is a studio in my chest,
I never ceased listening to its beats,
produced by the contraction and
relaxation of my heart
It made me realize that music is life.

If you can't befriend yourself,
It would be hard to befriend another
Keep your spirit, soul and body joined together,
Let no human or anything put asunder
Here's a reminder, you're born a winner
Let no circumstance put your head under its shoulder
In the face of anything,
Do remember, you are way tougher.

F#ck pride,
Let us ride together
Let's put out the fire of jealousy,
that sh#t ain't necessary
Let's rid our hearts of all hatred,
Brothers and Sisters, we are all kindreds
In unity lies our strength,
As a group, we can reach any length
We might err but let's learn to forgive,
Remember oneness is the motive
True love is the only way up,
Let us all drink from the same cup.

Hold on a second before you cast the stone
Did you seek to know the story whole?
Let's agree you did! Do you also agree that
a broken pencil can still create a masterpiece
So before rolling that boulder out of your oral cavity
Tap into your inner well of empathy
Let compassion fill your heart
Consider forgiveness above other things
It's definitely not the easiest option to choose
But it's an option that wouldn't lead astray.

Poetry is deep emotions put into words,
It is heart feelings shed upon a page
It is therapy for some, to stay sane
It's a medium for some to share their message
Poetry is deliberation, it is expression
Poetry is healing, it is art
Poetry is appealing, sometimes controversial
The heart is to poetry what
soil is to a plant.

See how fast life is moving
If you become slow or sluggish
You could be left behind like a floppy (disk)
However, don't join in the rat race
Find your place in this vast earthly space
Be inspired by others
But don't put yourself out of order
Your life is what you make it,
It's a tough truth but you've got to face it
Keep learning and progressing
Be at peace, don't find yourself stressing
You'll definitely make it through,
Ensure to yourself, you stay true.

Happiness is not sold in the stores
Don't be deceived by the adverts at all
Buying more and more cannot fill the void
A rush of happiness derived from
a purchase is superficial and hard to maintain.

Creating short lasting or fast evolving trend is corporations' tactic to get you discontent my friend.

Well, you don't have to pay for it all at once
You don't have to cancel your plan,

Contentment is the key my friend
The car I was stressing over to get,
I met a man ready to let go of his,
in exchange for working legs.
Gratefulness is the door to happiness my friend.

Your life is a sum total
of your beliefs,

the words you speak
And the actions you take.

When I look in the mirror
I see the best figure,
An image dripping with
God's beauty,
shining from head to toe
As if wearing a garment
flooded with diamonds.
An embodiment of glory
An actor of a success story
I see an image of love
A bearer of good news
An unstoppable force
An indomitable power
I see greatness
I see kindness
I see peace
I see me.

The rush for immediate gratification
could potentially lead to growth
suppression.

We live in a time where
we trust the voice of the GPS
more than the voice of God.
Maybe a lot of us don't even know
what God sounds like.

A generation that cherishes
internet connection over
divine connection.
The hunger for power, money & fame
has taken over our love/reverence for God.

I hope we'll find our way back to our root.

Everyone is fundamentally unique (in a
beautiful way).
But in attempts to fit in or
become generally acceptable,
We easily and willingly sacrifice
our uniqueness.

Why was I sent on this earth? 
What do I want in this life? 
The pursuit of purpose along 
the trail of destiny
The true meaning of living, 
surpassing just mere existence
A life that doesn't feel void or empty
The utmost reward is a feeling of fulfillment.

To offer a helping hand is not an indication
that the "helper" has it all figured out
It's an attribute of a person who can see
beyond their own personal needs,
Go out of their own way to help
make a way for someone else
It's sad when people mistake
kindness for foolishness.

Can I tatt your name in my skin
As you've seared your love into my heart
This love is a game of two
And you've never ceased to play your part
Even when the terrain was rough,
You've shown yourself to be tough
I promise you my untainted love
Till the very end of time
Whether things be as sweet as honey
Or as sour as lime
You'll forever be my honey,
You'll forever be mine and
I'll forever be yours

Here's a couple seating across a table
With plates full of yummies in their middle
Occasionally, their eyes would meet
For the most part,
their eyes were fixed on mobile screens.

A time meant for two to connect,
To plug into each other's world
But they chose to connect to
the world wide web instead

Digital connection
ripping
physical connection.

Lost identity,
often searched for in
material possessions
Purchasing name brands
to replace what's interiorly missing
Glamorous exterior like
a well finished building
Only but with a foundation
that is weakened.

With courage as ignition
And a fuel tank full of faith,
Embarking on a journey  
towards the fulfillment of purpose
Moving on the tyres of perseverance
And an exterior frame of resilience
A steering wheel of wisdom
to steer in the direction of destiny
Goodness and mercies rides with me
Favor as the headlight, going ahead of me

Hand in hand,
walking in unity.
Watching another's back,
genuine care and empathy.
Showering love on self,
Extended to neighbours as well.
A world in harmony,
sharing resources cordially.
Budget once allocated to weaponry,
diverted towards humanity.
Building and strengthening communities,
rather than creating enemies.
This is the world I see,
A world of people, not a world of things.

Life is a personal race
Distraction it is, focusing on another's pace
Stay grounded in your own space
Stay out of comparison's cage
Jealousy is a fuel for unnecessary rage
Success has nothing to do with age
With eyes focused on goals and on God,
that's how you ace your race.

I've been unable to finish a single poem
My notepad houses a pile of unfinished pieces
My mind has been swinging on all angles like an empty can hanging on a thread,
thrown in all directions on a breezy day

Wishing the pieces could help one another
finish like a relay race
But each piece is set on its own course
Hopefully one by one, I'll bring each to its finish line.

It's okay to feel confused
It's not so bad to feel out of moves
Those points in life often birth epiphany,
a brightened vision,
And initiates the start of a new
and purposeful journey.

Togetherness begins by being one with self
A broken piece joined to another broken piece results into a chaotic mass
A wound not healed within isn't healed,
no matter how it appears on the surface
A collective goal requires individual efforts
A journey to a better world begins first with self
Blame games are lame games
To achieve unity, make the first move.

Making attempts at proving
superiority is a possible symptom
of inferiority.

Awaken the dreamer child in you,
the one that doesn't
search for constraints first,
the one that believes
everything is possible
because that child can
somehow see the future,
the future which is only altered
by the doubtful mind
of the adult version of the child.

Success is not what you do,
Success is who you are,
Approach everything with this mindset
And watch it reflect in all you do.

The unplanned sometimes
come in the way of the planned,
which usually feels like a roadblock.
Painful, saddening, even depressing.

But who really can tell if
it's truly an obstruction
without seeing the complete picture
Ultimately, it could be a detour to the right path.

Whoever said you're not good enough,
obviously doesn't know you enough.

Self-discovery is the second
best discovery,
first being God-discovery.

Live your dreams to the fullest,
ride on their wings.
Walk on water,
You have the power to do so locked within.
You're indomitable,
Push opposing thoughts under the table
You are more than able
Whoever said you're not enough,
doesn't know you enough
Don't be held back by their talking & stuff
Check inside you first, you're fully stocked
It's not about where you are right now,
It's about where you're designed to be
So get to work and make all these a reality.

Semi-living is...
Living with your talents untapped
Or allowing your dreams die a dream
It's living life with no empathy
Neglecting to count one's blessings,
But getting bitter due to jealousy
It's living a life with zero purpose,
wasting away like a severely leaking hose
To discover the art of fully living,
Search deep within your heart and soul.

Opinions are the cheapest
Almost anyone can afford
to give some away
Out of the many that
gets thrown at you,
Maybe a few would be valuable
Take them all, then
Sort out the recyclables
from the garbages
Let the irrelevant end in the landfill
When you find opinions of value,
Ensure to refine it.

When it's election time,
That's when people really matter
But when you get into power
You can less be bothered

Your true colors get revealed
The hidden intentions of your heart
begins to manifest
You start to care less
about the same people who
consumed your sugarcoated words

Look at you now, acting like the lord of all
Soon to switch colors
when your tenure is about to be done
And you desire to rule us once more

Here you are again,
showering us with nice words and acts
And bam! we are deceived one more time
How quickly we forgot the things that
you put us through

You managed to sneak your way in
And here we are, complaining once again
Please, who do we blame this second time?

It's a tug of war
Between the Word and the world
I am the rope,
stretched on both ends
it's quite hard to cope.
Light and darkness do not blend
In the Word, there's hope
But the world is enticing
One heart cannot serve two masters
Hope this rope won't rip apart
Here today, there tomorrow
What kind of life is that!
Today, you must make up your mind
The rope has to end in one hand
You have the luxury to make a decision
Don't choose blindly,
You're wise, so act wisely.

Don't let your words
be a rock thrown at a glass
shattering another's heart.
Inspire, Correct, Rebuke
All of these are allowed but
they must all be done in love.

Ask the corporations,
Are we not just profiles or data
Fed to some algorithms
To decide how we live our everyday life
Decides the things we see,
Shapes how we think,
Directs where our money goes
Do they still see us as humans
Or just mere consumers,
a means to more revenue
Profit is the number one goal
Even if they are putting holes
in many lives, families and society at large
So far the investors are happy
and their pockets are getting fat,
Nothing else matters, right?
Maybe when the machines fully take over
And we start to fight for our own lives,
We'll realize what we've done to ourselves.

It was indeed fun and nostalgic
To play the Arcade Super Mario Bros again
Especially in that low resolution.

I saw clearly in 4K how far we've come
And how rapidly we've evolved

But those games thought me a lot
I understood how costly mistakes can be
and I learned to persevere

No checkpoint, no option to save
You lose all your lives,
you begin all over again
You get to face your fears
again and again.

You try out different tactics and strategies
till you master the things that scare you
What courage it built in me

The mentality to say...
I lost but I'll go back and start afresh
and I am winning this time
That strong will was fortified in me

I give some credit to those games
from back in the days.

The wisdom expressed by nature is inexhaustible
Yet so subtle that we overlook
Almost every element of nature
conveys an important message
Sage Mother Nature,
Teach us to listen to your words
Help us understand your worth
(I guess we will have to figure
that out on our own)
I imagine that you shake your head at us
Poor "smart" people, only if they knew
Please forgive us,
Show us not your rage
After all, we're no match for your age
Consider us your kids,
One of the stubborn ones indeed.

A number of things are uneasy to forget
Like how it was a luxury to have 3 square meals,
How mountainous paying tuition was
But the hope for a greater tomorrow,
those situations couldn't steal
I remember some of my clothes had holes
Nonetheless my faith remained whole
At least, I had a roof over my head
and a family that cared
I remember we didn't have surplus
Nevertheless I was thought to give
Some things, you just never forget
But when you look back at them,
All you can do is give thanks!

By concealing key information within
terms and conditions
"Nobody wants to read this long texts
Let's collect their rights from them"
Let's have them append their signatures
