We bore heavy chains.
Cast from pride and denial and fear,
We trudged across a landscape of our own tears.
We trampled underfoot,
All who might have stood.
We curse our laughing, decadent masters,
Taunting, cruel masters,
Whose whips strip raw skin from our bleeding backs.
We can’t look at them,
We’ve never seen them.
Backs to us,
Our skin has been stripped away,
A new flesh appears underneath.
That of the masters.
We’ve been lashing ourselves inside.
We are the true masters.
But we can’t see that,
Because we’re not allowed to look.

i carry your heavy burdened heart
i have waited patiently as i court
i wrote and made love to you on paper
this was not simple task nor easy a labor
you kindle the flames that blaze
bringing me in such a tamed craze
i spilled my ink across the sheets to you
with gentle sweet passion that is true
caressing you with each sentence and letter
from your curves and lips with pleasure

"Come, come!"
it calls to me,
as it stands there
in the middle of the sea

Constant and steady
That radiant Light
I know I'll be safe
If I get there 'fore night

A beacon of hope
my soul there will rest
I know, though, to get there
is the real test

Still it calls to me,
"Come, come!
Leave your family
Leave all you've known."

"I want to come!"
my heart replies,
"but there is no boat
I cannot fly."

"Who needs wings
or man-made things
when what's inside
will cause the glide?"

No longer doubting
taking the first step
Can be the most challenging
So, I gulp a deep breath

Closing my eyes
I plunge into the deep
Except instead of plunging
Solidness meets my feet

Eyes open wide
As I look below
My feet on the water
Ahead the Light glows

Tender and sweet
With a tease of a smile
It tells me the journey
May take quite a while

I don't care
With windswept hair
Instead of despair
I will go there

To be with the Light
I'll Go through the flight
With happiness and ease
As I stroll with the breeze

I have nothing to lose
So, I'll take of my shoes
Brush out knots with sea comb
And love the journey of ocean foam

Such youthful beauty that lies awake
In smiles that hide such a frail pale heart
grows a shadow around a glowing radiant face
weary gentle golden eyes knows no escape

many questions have been eagerly ask
yet answers come so slow to even pass
misty country fields and wondrous night sky
as crackling ember ashes scattering light

oh my tender kind simple fellows
such hearts are glaze and mellow
moonbeams rays touches the darken house
serene and silent as a church mouse

painted portraits with palettes of black and blue
starry is the nights that only few have viewed
to stay awake with life so endlessly gray
knowing well the world is a chaotic fray

dreamers tear their mournful souls away
lovers passions fades like summers day
swirling winds flow through the grassy plains
twinkling stars that kisses my sorrowful pain

you gave me a second chance in life
you ask do I regret being alive
you were afraid i would say yes

with the sins I did
the horrors I've seen

the moment you saw me at the edge
there was nothing that held me back
the thoughts I had was that of peace

yet you held me with your embrace
was it sympathy or was it love
you asked me not to leave again
I smiled and sighed okay then

this memories we made linger along
the love we shared was blissfully short
my love was weak yet you were strong
i long to forget you but it takes so long

I could feel it
From the first beat
I can see it
Whoever I'm going to be with

I see the sky
And all my feeling's flying high
I know why
Cause I've seen it with my eye

I can always rise
Without telling lies
The words are nice
And so the music flies

I'm but a mere humble soldier
my heart is tied to my motherland
I fight for freedom whilst I forfeit my life
as I run upon the field of death

I do not stand alone in the smog
I do not run against my fate
for the angels guide me
I fight for my honor to which i am unworthy

I do not walk unknowingly
the all this risks I understand
for the lord ventures with me,
each and every day

If the day comes that I fall
I surrender my soul to his warm embrace
remember me not just by name
but the deeds I've done and the sacrifice I gave

I'm a soldier first and foremost
A son of the nation I was born
A friend to all peoples
A comrade of peace and order
A brother to my fellow servicemen
A fierce and honorable warrior
and a servant till the end of my breath
and of my beating heart

I'm so tired but I can't rest nor sleep
Standing' on the edge of something much too deep
It's funny how we feel so much but we cannot utter a word
We scream from within, but we can never be heard

It feels as though the world is too slow or too fast
that some good things will likely never last
yet the memories we built both great and sad
I hang them all up my wall, no mater how long time has pass
each one brings back stories from such glorious days
if you can see them now I bet it will brings tears down your lovely face
no matter how much we've grown old nothing has truly age
everything still stays the same no matter how somethings change

will the world remember me when I fall
will they shed a mournful tear or stay silent
will my death and works mean nothing at all
is my life just one out of many in history's hall

have we but to die now
and never live to see
the grandeur of tomorrow

how we sleep in solace
and slip into the grasp
that deaths hand has touch

shall we hang to the thread
to which the youth must walk
in a uncertain precipice crossroad

My soul has been torn from me as though I am but dreaming,
My heart now spent in this worldly rent and I am now grieving,
All the beauty that was around me fades as I sigh my last sigh,
For now as I breathe my last breath I am slowly dying.

Last night I dreamt and heard of my dearest companions, Cheery faces that once brighten the room, as I awoke I lay alone,
I pondered for days gone by when we were all but young and bold,
But I know that soon I must die the last of whom had survived.

As morning did rise crimson edge that broke the night sky,
The cold did lift from and the winds, as they did sigh,
I rose to take a breath, not knowing it was my last,
From the light that greeted me now fades and it did come,
Now I am done and have been greeted with eternal rest.

i am in pain
yet i have no mouth
but still i must scream
into the darkness of the night
without a howl for help
that is what every man
who knew the end is coming
people ignore the signs i give
for i have no mouth to speak
and if i had none shall hear
or heed my warnings
but i will meet the end
with a smile knowing
the sun shall shine bright again
regardless that if i may see its rays
or not if it passes my grave
that i tried to resist and change the course
to which our destiny lies

if i can write
and if i can read
if i can dream
as i breathe
maybe someday
but not this day
will the tide change
for you and me

but I continue to wish,
that someday, be a second,
a minute, or an hour,
that I may use it to see,
you again someday.

it's 3am and i'm wide awake
i remember your smile
the way you make me laugh
its almost impossible
to get you off my mind

what can i do?
you lured me in and
i cannot escape
the trap you made
but nor do i want to

can you hear me?
i want you to listen
to my thoughts
i want you to be here
hugging me close

when I remember your touch
i cannot fall asleep
i want you here with me
i want you close to me

just thinking about you..

when you're lost in the moment a spell that is a kiss
on an evening that is peaceful and lovely such as this
a dream that will fade come morning and fall apart
should our eager lips touch it's love shouts my heart

Rumor has it our world has an end,
Four edges where water flows away
And everything between has been seen,
Uncovered lands all known to mankind.

I beg to differ with that limited horizon.
For no matter how long I run to the edge,
The ground beneath my feet never ends.
The sky goes on and on forever.

Even if Man covers every inch of Earth,
There's still something left to discover.
Ah this magnificent unknown beyond the horizon,
How I long to see what the end of the line really is.

Many speak of heroes and their quests,
Of the obstacles they face,
Those they meet along the way,
Who made them cry, love, and made them stronger,

But who are they that watch them?
That seem to know the hero so well?
Was it a friend ? Or admirer?
Did the hero do something
That made it that person’s duty
To tell their tale and not their own?

Perhaps we may never know,
But one thing is certain,
The teller of heroes tales,
That a hero’s story never ends
migayle ocuaman Jul 2019
We are not merely heroes
But sons of the flesh of adam
We answer the call when needed
We feel pain and endure life
Till the grave absolves us from our sins
We carry on our duty with valor

Valiant sky of the sea of bright,
Crumble throughout the land of night.
Structure to form and structure to made,
That to build in mass engrave.
Heighten to ascend the road of iron,
That beat and smelt the heated burn.
Creatures be born and darkness attain,
To fuel the light and plotted it stain.

The petals of spring dance
As I am thrown into a trance
The carefree birds of the sky
Sing as they fly high
The shimmering water gently flows
As the flowers begin to grow
Two people walking side by side
A gentle laugh echoes in the sky...

Sitting there
Your eyes don't have any colors anymore
The tables are scattered
And your mind are also lost
It's just a matter of time
Before everything ends
Too quickly, too slowly
However you don't even try to catch it up or wait for it
You've tried so hard and now you can't move
You enjoyed the silence a last time
And now i can see you slowly closing your eyes
"Good night"

Liars are very good at hiding,
Because they hide behind others,
We all lie for something,
To hide away anything.
However it can either save,
Or shatter and break.
Lies tell a story of another side,
A another self that always hides.
To be found from the sin,
We must reveal our darkness within.
Learn from the mistakes we do,
To prevent another lie from you...
A disease that never ends
Tear it down, burn or cut
But comes ever so
An illusion that is so sweet
Turn away from world's hate
Tie yourself forever in your own disguise
migayle ocuaman Jul 2019
The sun is fading and the sky turns velvet;
dark clouds reminding of the coming fall...
Trees will regret and blush all the honey and bets;
It's as good as it is, nothing better to get...
Still you there not looking nor standing tall;
made fun dancing on a pier with a seagull!
Til you fell in and got wet - and it was late,.. sunset!

I walked you home and all was just right;
didn't understand the cuts and bruises...
Was it from an accident or a fight;
there you brawling a cougar to the near blight...
Sweater and Jeans your chosen disguise --
no one looked better even Heavens orifice...
I don't know what could be longer in this night!

And then you moved on into a different state;
calls went on voice-mail to receive some silence.
Was it something I did or was I too late;
to understand what you need, maybe fate...
And the memories are so vivid at first glance;
feel you standing next to me, adjusting your stance...
When we danced on the waves and it was all great!

Your hand touched mine that day.
A single touch with such heat.
I couldn't think.
I couldn't see like I always would.
All I could think of and see was you.
Even when I closed my eyes.
In the darkness where it was cold but
light would come to me and there you was.
Smiling as you would stretched out your hand.
One hand to reach with.
two kisses was given.
One from me and one from you.
But three words spoken.
migayle ocuaman Jul 2019
Whenever you feel lost,
Afraid, shrouded in darkness,
Take a moment to look up.
Rest your eyes from the dusty ground.

See the stars above and how they shine.
They flicker and twinkle bright in the sky,
Despite being surround by the black of night.
They hold their place without wavering.

Take note of their strength.
For when you feel surrounded by darkness,
Shine like the light you know you are.
Burn bright and drive your night away.

lonely nights that still amaze me how the sky looks starry in a mystic mist
As I look above I see spirals and glittering light in the dark ashen sky
Such luminous sparks of tinder to which cascades above
Heavenly ocean seas of cosmos not seen as the sun rises
Constellations of angels that hold dreams and hopes
Such nights hinders bellowing smog and the rattling of men
I am a child of the night who blossom under the moons gentle rays
I wish for sleep but the calmness of the hour lures me in wondrous desire
I am but a child of the night who's love making is done where others sleeps
I wish you stay up like me to witness such calm majesty of pleasures
That rare solemn nights perceive different beauty
Under the cover of shadows that blanket this land
Its enchanting peace that puts all worries to rest
I await those who linger idle in the late serene hours of the night
Twilight breeze that bring chills that sing as it howls
They whisper words that tickle our senses
It calls who ever listen to stare in reflection under the moonlit sky
To those burdened by the heart the night has stilled and hush its anguish
O night lovely than the dawn who hold my secrets as i lay at ease
Beckoning comforts to those you have chosen as your children
We who have visions upon our slumber have seek refuge and joy
One day we shall sail through the nights crystalline glimmering vast mist

use too often and quickly
a poem is but a portrait

words that intertwine

It’s natural to think before -
To ages, gone and past
But "past" can never hold much more -
Than what you thought of last

It seems as though it seems enough
It seems like it’s the end
It seems as though the winds blew rough
Before your wounds could mend

Perhaps you think that all is said
And none that’s left to see -
What lies beyond, what lies ahead,
What we’re still meant to be

i doubt if you were really ever here
i am lost in thought and still in this world
i question whether you could ever hear
for i wish you could speak even just one word

who am i to judge and who am i to ask
thrown into a world lost and starved
confused by needs and desires i mask
kindness of man at times swerved

i am but still a lowly sinful outcast
who has lost everything and have nothing left
bless not me but those who have passed
bless those that suffer in this earthly theft

show them the mercy where i had most doubt
for they are forgotten downtrodden and torn
aren't we all outcast once please don't cast us out
guide those who still question why they were born

What founded this nation wasn't the foreign immigrants
But the overseas workers who wish for better deliverance
Leaving the country in order to escape and survive
In return to rebuild the peoples name and its pride
Their ideas formed in the curiosity of the mind
Bringing such educated and civilize men who are refine
To whom our heroes have brought forth such ability
Feeling freedom in the breeze in the western vicinity
Such action and talks or not only to be whispered
for the youth to act and shout like a raging twister
printing the words of a voiceless ******* nation
Exposing the church and state without doubt or hesitation
pens and tongues are sharper than any sabers blade
our verse we preach putting light to your devious shade

Despite your small willow frame,
You gracefully took each step,
As a mark of your humble pride,
Your sweet and gentle face held a smile,
That only heavens angels could dare mimic,
Your shimmering blue eyes glistened,
Like two shorelines meeting at the edge of a cliff,
Glimmering blues and teals,
Your Reddened cheeks and the hint of blush,
Yet that sad longing eyes gave away,
Like the winter bitter wind you long to be free of its cold.

Bubbles floating in the meadow
Helping me to overcome my fears and sorrow
Gazing out to autumn leaves turned spring
They look at me giving my heart such wings
I stare across the lake, over to the house
I see a little girl as small as a mouse
Her small bike still standing along the road
The way she left it since years ago
Now spring turned to winter
She's now still small but a little taller
And gazing at the snow in a peculiar manner
And then I see her sweeping away the leaves
Then giving up and throwing them to the winds
I smile a little bittersweet smile
Looking back at memories that passed me by
Her waking to dawn
Her walking down the road at the lawn
Sticky crumbs pasted on her cheeks
Without even bothering to have it licked
That little red truck she rode with her brother
When they ran across the field all throughout summer
And the waves washing up the coast
As she jumps with glee her heart all afloat
My lips curve into a fond smile
When was it that I forgot to enjoy life?
The sweet, little memories I hold dear
The golden memories of childhood I treasure
And now whenever a little bubble floats by
I'll be sure to remember every little bit of life with a smile
Add on a little spice of life
To add the thrill to the joyous ride
So come along, reminisce with me
Think about you golden memories
This poem might be simple
But it never fails to show a dimple
Along the grown cheeks of this woman
That had long since grown with a man
She loves dearly and promised and vowed
To spend every moment with him now
The color of our wedding rings that day
Was the shade of our hearts whose love never fades away
And so underneath the shade of trees
Watching the sun peer orange over the leaves
Gazing at small little bubble
Too small a thing for the meaning it holds
To my heart so young still
So many emotions I can really feel
Amidst the lake, the grass and the wind
I finally found what all the things mean
Staring out the ever familiar lawn
With the words carve into my heart: I am home
migayle ocuaman Jul 2019
I thought it was a dream,
That you would love someone like me,
Maybe I can change,
Maybe I can move past everything,
From this hatred in my heart,
You changed everything to love,
I couldn't ask for more,
I never thought I deserved to get so much,
Especially something as precious as your love,
This pain will never go away,
But it can be filled with something more,
You loved me against reason,
And changed me forever more.

For her I lust
Love left unrequited
Tortured, I must;
Love that left me delighted

It started light, optimistic
Of what could've been
But alas it was a fight not altruistic
And left me in loathing sin

A beast inside was snarling
A familiar buzz, darling
A sad pause, gnarling
Alas, false, strange star thing

of those who wish no good to his fellow man

at the ready with discipline and firmness

so the dark twisted hands of both left and right
come to envelope us in a ceaseless cold dark night

What be made from flesh and bone?
Fallen ray like mindless drone.
Where body of built, be turned to rot,
By silent men of puppeteer's plot.
When to act and never from string?
To rise, and smell, the fragrance of spring.
How such life be was, to a stagnant of tale?
Blinded and used, manipulated and pale.

Don't you harden your heart,
don't you walk away,
Don't you hide from the sins you made,
Cause we're here too help you change

Don't you act like your strong,
Don't you act like you care nothing at all,
We are here to hold onto you,
so don't you dare let go

Cause when the storm rages and you lose all control,
We are here if you need a home
so take my hand it won't be too long
