in the vastness of the dark abyss
to which it is not the appearance hostility
that gives us the tense uneasiness
but the indifference it shows to us
as we solider on to its unknown abysmal lair

pictures of patron saints hung high up on my wall
crosses and statues that look down on me
prayers and praises worshipful hymns
and a gospel quotes that shouts loud in my head

all this idols that captures the image of holy deeds
to remind me that i am nothing short of a fool
tell me where i came from, what i will always be
tell me where my soul will end up will it still be in peace

when i am deceased and buried i won’t join their ranks
because they are both holy, wise and free as the the wind
that’s how it’ll be in the end of my long hard trip
just a small lost child who went to a catholic school

grand churches and bell towers that roar in the air
like thunder that clashes to call us all to prayer
wolves in sheep clothing join the gathering flock
not even the shepherd knows who's the devil or not

so i said make me love myself so that i might love you
don’t make me a liar to say what you think should be true
Jesus said come to me my son and let me carry your cross
but i said its fine for we both carry the same scars

the Shepard and his flock come to me with blessed chains
wearing false cloaks and hiding their true faces
i feel the binds of the cold chains strangle my neck
making me bark and howl out their holy sacred hymns

Valiant sky of the sea of bright,
Crumble throughout the land of night.
Structure to form and structure to made,
That to build in mass engrave.
Heighten to ascend the road of iron,
That beat and smelt the heated burn.
Creatures be born and darkness attain,
To fuel the light and plotted it stain.

Raging tropical storms lay true romance to waste
spilled wine seeps and grapes rot on withering vines.
True, chosen few approve of its new bitter taste
even honesty must reluctantly pay heavy fines
nothing more than harsh showers that make us scream
the whispers that ripple and flux from strangers
secret affairs we hold in our rosy charms and schemes
words that we play deceive us that can never be amend

There were bells on a hill
But I never heard them ringing
No I never heard them at all
Till I felt my heart as I saw you there

If one must love a rose,
you must love it wholly,
from its blossoms and thorns,
for love itself is not a easy thing.

I was drizzle
and she was the storm,
the calm before the hurricane.

A white porcelain cup,
containing hot coffee,
warming your hands,
on a cold rainy day.

Staring out of the window,
with it's facade wet with rain drops.
Melancholy. Regret. Sadness.

Remember not to forget what brought you here
To gaze upon the love of wonder, oh so distant, yet so near
And in the glow of that heavenly effervescent flow
I am filled with a heartfelt awe of things I cannot know
But yet such things that I do adore and adore still more
I stand upon this Earth, on the wisdom of no words
And let the music and its notes, unfold my deepest thoughts
Then in the beauty that is just ... just my imagination
I find it ... and I am left but starry eyed
Such a mystical sight, that thing of love and delight
and fleeting thoughts ... of a cosmic sort ...

watching the stars twinkle so bright
where constellation play around in cosmic paradise

I'm but a mere humble soldier
my heart is tied to my motherland
I fight for freedom whilst I forfeit my life
as I run upon the field of death

I do not stand alone in the smog
I do not run against my fate
for the angels guide me
I fight for my honor to which i am unworthy

I do not walk unknowingly
the all this risks I understand
for the lord ventures with me,
each and every day

If the day comes that I fall
I surrender my soul to his warm embrace
remember me not just by name
but the deeds I've done and the sacrifice I gave

I'm a soldier first and foremost
A son of the nation I was born
A friend to all peoples
A comrade of peace and order
A brother to my fellow servicemen
A fierce and honorable warrior
and a servant till the end of my breath
and of my beating heart

She's sits on a chair
A tear on her cheek
looking at the world
so wide so bleak
with nothing to do
and no places to go
she wonders why am I here?
I want to know...

We envisioned of a promising start to depart
Pawns we move and lose we couldn't care less
Carnal desire of the flesh that corrupts the heart
The game we play is that of precision like chess
Yet still we dream of bigger things in the dark

Oh my god in politics we trust
nothing more they can discuss
A solution that seems to be a bust
While the poor rabble in the dust
Look about slaughtered and disgust
Reasons to why people make a fuss
Some rage and ready to combust
Yet other our silent as a hush
Its people only need to adjust
To a law or order that seems to be unjust
On men we thought we could entrust

summer heat and fresh breeze
that comes once again to greet
wishing for the days of autumn leaves
where golden brown trinkets that slowly fall
as each leaf dies as autumn calls
it blooms once more like spring enthralls

Swinging by under the willow tree
Thinking sweetly of only you and me
Of how days we spent could only go by
Nostalgic memories they carry to the sky
Hear, my love, ''tis beauty of notes
That sings of my loneliness, my love and my hopes
As the sunset laces promises round the sky
As the birds stretch their wings to say goodbye
If maybe we'd meet again, under this willow tree
I pray that would be the day I'd ask, " Will you marry me?,"

I see gentle waters and silence
more dangerous than those disturb
it is often the quiet that brings out the terror
the anxiety that drowns as in anticipation
of our own despair and unknowing sorrows
even if I drift and float by the safe shores
Its wave will carry me away to the depths
even if I struggle I will eventually sink

all this past impressions
have certain perception
full of special exemption
judge by many expectations

this fading beats of my heart
some stars are fated to fall
trapped in the living as some depart
dry tears and howling moans I reap

my senses lost to the absurd
enduring patience within my soul
broken voices singing unheard
breezes that beckon for eternal sleep

innocent and blooming beauty
i sing to you verses of sweet nothings
for somehow you enchanted me

lure me to your temptation
only to be plucked away
and thrown aside to wither
like some blade of grass

winter won't last too long
till the snow melts and ice cracks
as the sun shines its warmth
and the trees bear leaves,
the flowers blooms once more,
and as the first birds return home
spring shall come quite soon
this cold will fade by its coming warmth
and as the season change so will you

How heavy and costly the price of freedom,
Where a shepherd must tend his flocks,
and at times, fight off the wolves.

Everyone wants to be a patriot, till it's time act upon it,
to separate the wheat from the chaff.

When it's your turn to answer the Call of Duty...

Will you?

You're my special flame
Yet this fire's gone cold
I lost the sense to this game
our past are stories we told
now ashes to the unknown

When you are born, you are destined to die.
The earth you came from, you will forever lie.
But in your life, you'll have a chance for life.
Not life, for it's claimed by the reaper's scythe.
But in courage, left for us to behold.
Not in blood, and not in gold.
To preserve life is the ultimate reward.
For life is something nobody can afford.

The thoughts are prodding within my mind
Constantly attacking.
Desiring.
Wishing.
I try not to think about it,
But my mind just can't get enough of it
My mind always seems to wonder towards the same thing...
Over and over again, a cycle of endless thoughts.
Feeling the feelings welling up
Knowing that i am unable to escape

Obsession.
It feels as though i am obsessed with it.
My fingers tingle, almost begging for more
Like a drug, i take my thoughts
And i allow them to overtake me
For a moment, it can almost be euphoria
Filled with regret and pain, but also happiness and buzzing

Trying to stop these thoughts
Trying to stop them from entering my head
Trying to let go of that obsession

Can one be obsessed with multiple things at once?
With multiple thoughts and feelings, unable to let go
To quit them like cold turkey.

Money does not bound me to quit
Its all in my head...
Its not an addiction like the drugs you buy
I don't go to someone else to strive for it
To bargain and beg for more
It feels different than that

The feelings can be so overwhelming
Only knowing those feelings in that moment
Wanting it back, even listening
Because for a moment...
The mind didn't drift.
It only wanted its obsession
It was completely focused on that obsession

I could be obsessed with sadness
Feeling the water drifting down my face
Thinking of the things happening in my life
Addicted to the sting of pain it gives me
Addicted to almost wanting to be alone
Addicted to the way the muscles on my face moving down, the smile almost hurting my face

I could be obsessed with joy
Feeling the laughter erupting from my mouth
Making hard to breath, an almost sweet pain coming over my chest
My heart rushing
My head numb from no air
And then able to calm down,
Obsessed with the feeling that happened in a moment
When nothing was in my mind but that joy

I could be obsessed with anger
Feeling the warm, boiling feeling overcome me
Allowing it to burst out
Raising my voice so that i know others can hear me
The look on their faces when i know they are listening
Because it seems like no one is listening unless i raise my voice and let it all out
It can be addicting, allowing that feeling to overtake you

It might be easier if i was obsessed with an object...
Then maybe then...
I could let it drop.
Let go of my obsession.
Allowing it to break into a million pieces.
Feeling all the negative feelings at once, causing me to fall onto the ground, my mind regretting it
My mind wanting it back so bad my heart aches
And then relieve can come over me
Maybe it will take a long time for relieve to come,
Or I would become 'Obsessed' with that feeling

Is it possible to be obsessed with a person?
Or perhaps i am obsessed with the feelings that come with them?
Feeling the tingling and the warmth when they are nearby
Feeling my breath hitch when i hear their voice
Addicted to those feelings
That desire can overtake someone so easily
The desire to be around that person
Obsessed with their everything
It can be as quick as the snapping of the fingers
Addiction to the obsession inevitable
One moment you are normal and like them...
And the next moment, obsession can overtake you

Obsession can almost be a breaking point
Our minds are constantly buzzing
Absorbing new information
But we can come to that point...
When our minds 'break' and we become addicted
When we become obsessed,
And desire nothing else but that feeling that we are obsessed with

To honor thee my lofty king,
To ends I go till summer spring.
And kneel before this vow unbroken,
For long the days but whispered spoken.

As another dawn the sky fall clear,
Set loose, I shall, to death unfeared.

Acting like a clown, just to hear her laugh
The sound of it is melodic, but she pities him on his behalf
Still he tries, offering the thoughts on his mind
She smiles and thinks he's kind

Late at night they always talk
Early at dawn they always walk
Carrying her stuff is a burden he likes
Just so they can go on many more hikes

Holding the umbrella, so she doesn't get wet
In his heart, she'll never have to owe him a debt
On that morning, when the rain falls slow
Her beauty is stunning, and is reflected in the water below

What he doesn't realize, for love has made him blind
Is that her heart pays him no mind
Her head was in fact turned the other way
To gaze at someone else across the pathway
Her heart was for another, and it tore him in two
He thought that his love had been true

But love has made him blind, so he continues to be kind
If only to be close to her, he has made himself confined
Yet deep in his mind, he still does not care
Because when he sees her, no one else can compare.

careful to not play with the flames of the candle that keeps you alight and warm,
careful not to be fooled by its sweet scent a rose can give with it sharpest thorns,
careful not to jump on the edge of a cliff to which the abyss urges you to do,
careful to make a promise that you could never keep for we both play lies and tricks,
careful to preach words of comfort just to make sins in the shadows.

In the haze of alabaster and azure
She gazed up, ready and sure
Waiting for the night to fade
Beneath the horizon’s shade

She sat between heaven and earth
Waiting to witness a new day’s birth
In the scent of morning dew
She felt something warm and new

A top her perch of white
The dawn finally caught her sight
Bringing light to where gulls fly
Igniting azure blue and vanilla sky

I watched her run,
Run to see the ocean wind,
To see the timeless quality
Of the world we live in.

Her hair blew in the breeze;
She turned around and eyes were met.
My vision blurred,
My face grew wet.

I reached for her
And whispered so:
Love, take my hand
And never let go.

I won't kiss you nor bare to see you ,
Cause the hardest part of all this,
Is that I'm leaving you without any warning,
With all this painful agony I still feel today,
This will never last but if it was to stay with you,
I would endure it as long as you'll be true,
So don't go counting my days away,
And hold me before everything starts to fade.

How music flows throughout the warm zealous air,
Well delivered for every ear,
How grand, how optimistic it spreads for all to hear,
It gives us hope so non shall fall nor fear,

It is the art that all men wish to follow the melody they seek,
It blends all emotions of man too its greatest peak,
All the pain and joy in a harmonious union of peace,
Creating a portrait that fades as it folds to the perfect piece,

As the men in the front rank die face filled with fear
Now the generals staff who commands as they sat
And see the battle lines change from the field map
Seeing it move side to side as their boys falter and die

what made me special or better
then the rest of the crowd
what made me great or unique
to your eyes from the billions around

so tell me why
did you grab my hand
and drag me to greater heights than this

are you okay with me
are you fine with this

am I just a joke of a choice
or a mistake that you made

cause please tell me

cause I'm still in doubt
still in doubt

if you love me

Every war is different yet every war is the same,
Men are pawns whose lives are but just a game,
To seek glory and honour amidst the slaughter,
Here the rich profits behind such safe walls,
Hearing the of cruel echoes of this laughter,
Joined by the field of battle to which dreamers now fall,
Such is the faith of those who march with pride and shame,
To those who have fallen by such carnage and unjust death,
I raise a toast to you and a voice for the silent may you rest in eternity.

From ashes you rose
From light you were born
The hope that has been lost
And the darkness that has been claimed
You surrendered yourself to the worst thing
And watched your own soul sink
However it's not too late
As the day light's shine awaits
Claim your weapons
And make your escape
From the darkness you hate

When the day is done
The horizon hides the sun
A starry night fills the sky
Look up to the heavens
In awe one may feel
The trillions of lights
Glitter down on Earth
Some may say they are ancestors
Others tell a representation of hope
But no matter the interpretation
They still strike imagination
Into everyone's hearts

To the vanishing point.
To step over bounds.
To pass limits not thought possible.
To escape the wayward path of life.
That is what it means, to achieve dreams.

It is all beyond the Vanishing Point.
So set sail through the raging oceans.
hike that treacherous beaten path.
For all the greats have before.
Where the sky and land meet.
Where two sides are the same.

migayle ocuaman Jul 2019
Wait for me,
and I'll come back!
Wait with all you've got!
Wait, be patient and I shall return to your loving arms embrace
Wait, be patient till I may kiss your warm lips again,
wait, be patient no goodbyes and farewell tears,
Wait, for I have kept you close and your love protects,
Wait, until i sing to you once again my love,
Wait for me as I kiss your hand before I go,
Wait, until then remember our fondest memory.

Wait when cheerless yellow rain whispers that you need not.
wait as the leaves fall and flower withers,
wait even as the sky darkens and the moon changes,
wait as the dawn breaks the cold night sky,
Wait when the snow swirls fast, and the bitter freeze loses your warmth,
wait when the sun blazes hot,
wait even if the seasons change and I am not there,
wait for me though you cannot hear my voice,
wait even if we are miles apart in distant lands,
In foreign frontiers and unknown fronts,
wait for me and so we may dance again,
wait when long days are past and others have forgot.

Wait when from the distant place, word does not arrive.
Wait, when all those you face know I'm not alive.
Wait for me, and I'll come back!
Wait for me, don't fret!
When they tell you there's no doubt that it's time to forget,
Be strong have fate for I shall be back,
Wait and keep me in your thoughts for you are on mine,
Even when those dearest to me tell you I am gone and past.
As your eyes swell to tears from their words,
Even if it shatter your heart to doubt if I am still alive,
Even when my nearest give up, claiming it's been too long.
Even if they honor my name and what little I left behind,
Let's raise a glass of bitter sweet wine, to the friend who's passed into glory -  But wait!

Don't share that drink! Wait until the last!
Wait for me and I'll come back, Cheating every fate,
Deciding when to live and past,
Enduring the odds and evading deaths grasp.
Through the anguish and slaughter of the field,
Though my body suffers and tires my soul cries to survive,
For you are waiting for me to come back,
Broken and scarred I shall return to you,
Wait until i can hold your soft soothing hands once more.
They who had lost hope shall be in shock,
"A nice stroke of luck!" they'll say,
those that could not wait.

Only they will never know how amid the strife,
Amid those who now lay in anguish lost and scattered,
by waiting for me, my dear,
and you saved my life,
You have brought peace to my soul.
But the two of us will know,
How you got me home.
Only you knew how to wait,
it was you alone.

"Come, come!"
it calls to me,
as it stands there
in the middle of the sea

Constant and steady
That radiant Light
I know I'll be safe
If I get there 'fore night

A beacon of hope
my soul there will rest
I know, though, to get there
is the real test

Still it calls to me,
"Come, come!
Leave your family
Leave all you've known."

"I want to come!"
my heart replies,
"but there is no boat
I cannot fly."

"Who needs wings
or man-made things
when what's inside
will cause the glide?"

No longer doubting
taking the first step
Can be the most challenging
So, I gulp a deep breath

Closing my eyes
I plunge into the deep
Except instead of plunging
Solidness meets my feet

Eyes open wide
As I look below
My feet on the water
Ahead the Light glows

Tender and sweet
With a tease of a smile
It tells me the journey
May take quite a while

I don't care
With windswept hair
Instead of despair
I will go there

To be with the Light
I'll Go through the flight
With happiness and ease
As I stroll with the breeze

I have nothing to lose
So, I'll take of my shoes
Brush out knots with sea comb
And love the journey of ocean foam
