Wicked Words
David J Jun 6
Power of the tongue
Do not tread lightly, for We
Can speak life or death
Disgust clouds my mind, but I must restrain my putrid tongue. I have fallen, perhaps I remain grounded for cursing myself.

I whom deserves death
David J Feb 22
He sighs; chancing a look in the mirror
Eyes glaring back with unrestrained disdain
His heart rises, breaths accelerate
Offering his reflection only contempt
. . .
That wretched reflection only he sees
Despise yourself you worthless dog
Resent your abhorrent self
Don't forget your place

Should Have Used Pencil
David J May 26
My pen offends me
Acted like I didn’t see
But, it wrote the truth
Dug the quill to deep, seen my shadows in the ink.

Hm… younger me

Using that palette
How did you use this to write?
They all look so gray…
You painted beautifully with those grays. Heh… im afraid we lost our touch. Wait till you see what you do with color though. Its wonderful. We mostly admire it..

Only He Understands
David J Jul 9
Boy in the still pond
He looks at me with those eyes
And knows… we are alone

Contradiction
David J Aug 3
(Verse 1)
Thirsty, yet turn from the well
Tired, yet further I dwell
Hoping that I will collapse
Praying that something snaps

I feel your presence, it follows behind me…
I feel your light, it cast the shadows I see

But aren’t we the depiction
Of a cruel contradiction (dit dit dit-diiit dah)
Who am i

(Bridge 1)
Who am I that I may call to you
Who am I that I may fall to you
Who am I to be someone you love?

Who are we, For what we have done
Who are we, For what we have become
Who are we to be those whom you love?

(Pre-Chorus) only 2nd time
I am weary, I am dreary
but I feel you, still hear me

(Chorus)
We are yours, I am yours.
But we hate, steal, ****.   (boom boom dit dit dah, dit dit dah dah dah)
We betray your will
Who are we, who am I
I am….. yours  (yo-orss)

(Verse 2)
Thirsty, yet your well remain
Tired, yet you chase again
Hoping that I will bend
Praying that my-heart mends

I feel your presence, it follows beside me…
I feel your light, it clears the shadows I see

But aren’t we the depiction
Of a cruel contradiction (dit dit dit-diiit dah)
Wonder now

(Bridge 2)
Do you love me, like I hate myself?
Do you free me, like I build my cell?
Are you certain as we are unsure?

Can it be, that you’d forgive the sin?
Can it be, that you’d call-us your kin?
Are you proud as I am ashamed?
(To pre chorus for 2nd time and end)
From prose to song, i needed to write. Don’t mind the (paren notes, they're for me rhythm notes)
