That point where perspective fails
Is a sharp and shameless end
A failure, yes I must confess
For I have preached and I have practiced
And yet I have managed to fester a mess
Acquired a weightless collection of because
While fate heckles with his game of luck
Conducting an explicit scene
That has made a joke out of my childish dream
Finding solace in the irregularity of unearthly absolutes
I will carry my sore knees, drag my swollen knuckles
To rescue the sweet of my laborious fruits

Cut my throat and
stab my stomach and
kick me in the ***** and
gouge out my eyes and
drain my blood and
tear open my ribcage and
peel apart each sticky-red vein and
pour molten lead down my throat and
lacerate my skin with knives and
break my bones and
stop my heart all while
pouring salt, vinegar, acid on my wounds but

never,
never,
never

tell me that I don’t know
how it feels to
hurt.

If I could run away, I would...
If I could fly away, I would...
But I know that if I leave,
I leave everything behind me.
I will have to let go of everything
and move on like I please.
But I will stay here and fight
because I know I will one day
find peace.

“It’s like a hand grenade,” he says,
“You only have so much control
But it is your responsibility to throw it out there”

This is poetry
This is my soul
These are my words
Shrapnel shards of
I shouldn’t be telling you this about myself
Let me pack them in

Pray I hit home
Hit you with burning chunks of truth
Burn you with passion
My passion
My stutters
Let me infect you with my
Poorly written prose

The only thing I ever wanted was for you to feel me
You feel me?

Do you feel this?
Do you?

Be honest
Because this metal will burst once the pin is pulled
And these fingers will tremble once the words are read
And I just don’t want to be lonely

I don’t want to fall asleep every night
Half drunk
With no one to hold
Maybe
Squeeze like a worry stone

Soak up my fear
You beautiful aftermath
Of word craters
And ink splatters

Let me stain you with a happy accident
Of simple passion
With the words you were looking for
So you can finally explain how you’ve felt

Know
I’ve felt that way too

It’s what I do
I feel sometimes

So take this
Ticking time bomb
Of bitter patience
And the need to be accepted
And the need to be useful
And the desire to be better

BOOM

You feel me?

I thought you had shattered my heart with your fleeces,
And that I’ve been busy picking up the pieces.
But in reality you’ve stolen it for you own,
And someday you will use it as my gravestone.
Just a whisper of you echoes through my mind,
And still the goose bumps ripple every single time.
You had simply faded to a shadowy figure,
And suddenly in my stolen heart you’re reconfigured.
I wish you could just disappear,
But I’ve learned you will always be near,
For the fibres connecting us are spun of steel,
And while invisible they are solid and real.
These connectors keep you vulnerable to my caress,
Even though my broken heart you still possess.
We are cursed and you will forever be drawn to me,
And the fear causes you to take my heart and leave.
The steel will stretch taught but never snap,
And you are destined to always come back

And sometimes it happens
That it wells up
A lump in the throat
Something deserving of more than tears
But so suppressed by well-meaning logic
Hidden by a dramatic mask, too well worn
of its true shape, sharp edges removed.

A vectorless emotion
Stuck in a maze made with walls of reason
The unreasonable contained
Rebellious without a cause

Yet so susceptible to a simple kindness
That puts all at risk of disastrous desire, calamitous confusion
Demanding release.
So, those poetic parents; Darkness and Light
In a tryst at their boundaries, defuse the danger
And make, in quiet conception,
Amongst the gentler shadows of the soul
What gestates and finally
In a spasm of wordy contractions
Spills live and ****** into the paper world.

" A friend asked how I write poems and it made me think ...."

We were two introverts
surrounded by an infestation
of the dipsomania and delight.
Ingested by white noise,
flashing lights
and sin,
we stood sheltered behind conservatism
and our cocktails.
This technophonic cave
was crammed with lascivious men
modeling their lavish kicks and threads
in pursuit of non-commitment.
With our backs pressed firmly
against our salutary wall,
we felt inviolable.

But then, you turned to me.

Your chandelier earrings exploded
the luminescence and trepidation
into a million particles,
and through the deafening roar
of pandemonium and decadence,
you offered a wink and said,
“Let’s dance.”

The entitlement to peoples own,
I wanna hold,
And squeeze,
And watch you breathe,
Im craving you,
A kiss left untouched,
I'm needing you,
I'm not to be used,
I'll wait my due,
and maybe it's past,
