In the beginning there was nothing
then a coffee bean popped up
suddenly hot milk started frothing
with steam rising from a cup

There was sipping, there was slurping
with loud sighs of ohh and ahh
there was dipping, there was burping
and people laughing hahaha

Then on the seventh day God rested
that's when all of us got busy
so much caffeine was ingested
it still makes our planet dizzy

A spring chicken I am not
but the chicken's still inside
while much older I have got
from many things I run and hide

I am petrified of heights
spiders, roaches, other men
I keep my lights on through the nights
because of ghosts I'm not a fan

When I see needles, I turn blue
so I've not had my Covid booster
There'll be no ****-a-Doodle-Doo
from me who'll never be a rooster

History repeats itself
but her story I only once read
and it wasn't from a book that's off the shelf
but the one that she smashed on my head

Taking my dog for a walk
the highlight of my day
He barks while I always talk
we have so much to say

Twenty minutes of fresh air
we like to let it out
We cuss and curse and loudly swear
and at our problems shout

That's when we *** on all the trees
and our day wounds lick
and hope tomorrow is a breeze
while I go fetch a stick

Aliens are already here
there's some which work with me
one who is an engineer
another in IT

A couple more are in reception
a weird bunch are in sales
some of whom do lack affection
and can be slow like snails

but their brains are super fast
complex problems solving
perhaps it's me that's from the past
who has stopped evolving

You must look at the bigger picture
life's just like KFC
It's all about a tasty mixture
if you can see past me

I need a light on my horizon
Something money cannot buy
No brand new Iphone or a Dyson
or checkered blue silk tie

I don't need a car with four wheels
some Porsche or Lamborghini
or a girlfriend with high heels
wearing worlds most shortest mini

I just need an orange sky
when my painful day is done
because money cannot buy
the last ray of the setting sun

Things have a way of working out
somehow in the end
while we keep getting knocked about
by life's each twist and bend

On this long and bumpy trip
we struggle with it's reins
and find ourselves under the whip
feeling all the pains

So try to stop, relax, refuel
pull over to the side
then climb your camel, horse or mule
and get on with the ride

to meatballs and spaghetti
no one can say no
the snowman or the yeti
or aliens from a UFO

even vegetarians
from hunger get all gnarly

it's easy to see why
when Bob Marley sang on a Jamaican shore
more meatballs no cry

it's curry night at my place

What we write about means little

a bit like yesterday it was spent
yet once again to work I was late
and some lie had to invent

With four coffee's needed to get me going
followed by six cups of tea
While all day long my hunger kept on growing
that I had my second lunch at three

Then I got home and dinner was at five
with an evening made in heaven
I already can't wait for the weekend to arrive

No one would notice me before
but now they all stare at me

and my big belly they can see ?

or is there a halo above my head ?
by these questions I'm often haunted

curiosity didn't **** my cat
no it was my nana
together with every other pet
my rabbit and green iguana

she looked after them so well

My four best friends are my four walls
The fifth one is my ceiling
Each night for help they hear my calls

My sixth best friend is my cold floor
on which I'm often lying
and no one really knows me more
when tears I'm on it crying

My seventh used to be my door
but lately we don't talk
I'll need to know my six friends more
then I will through it walk

two roads diverged in a yellow wood
and there i took a leak
the couple behind me thought it was rude
and called out that it's sick

when you have to go, you have to go
i said on my last shake
both of you walk much too slow
not in a hurry to overtake

but then i let them pass me by
while up my pants i zipped
and took the road that was more dry
not the one where they both slipped

Remind me of our happiest days
Bring them back to me tonight
When my eyes saw colours instead of greys

Take me from where I am now

but now the dishes are all stacked
and empty is the fridge
I'm ready waiting fully packed
crossing my life's bridge

so let me slowly sip my tea
and let me out loud slurp
this poem i will want to be
worth a one last burp

Once I used to be attractive
with a high IQ
My mind and body crazy active
I used to be like you

But now my looks have disappeared
I'm active like a sloth
my most attractive thing's my beard
I'm outsmarted by a moth

as i got old and grew a beard
and pants became too tight

till my eyes couldn't see
