In his yellow straw hairstyle mask
this Eton Mess
overpays water canons
and recites on the Road to Mandalay
on diplomatic missions
This man is not a leader
a roasting clown apparition
He partied during COVID lockdown
and accused Starmer of a falsehood
He dreams of leveling up
but as a diehard Toff
he has no idea of class
Antony Glaser Aug 2022
Dance again
Enjoin your red lips to mine
You're cooler than a glass of water

Now the moon is ready
The unpainted green pains me
all alone
On borrowed clouds
Can't reach you but I try
Antony Glaser Feb 2022
This old country
has given me life
Taught me sad dreams over

Once I was banding the top of trees
until I wrestled a boy from the west
We learned to grow apart
Silver moonchild
the waters are so wide
Steal from the valley
If I were a butterfly
riposte the day
I could be free
Antony Glaser Sep 2021
I want you to see the envy in my eyes
Let us go to the hotels of the night
Everything is a hidden rosette
Heaven is a paragraph
Take me to your leader
And then I will transcribe,
unraveling the hotel's lights
Antony Glaser May 2017
Those weren't  kind words,
better  suited to bedsitter land.
Never thought I needed
to be a hermit for anybody,
or suffer potted noodles.
I stay with my estranged folks
for the time being,
reside in my room,
listen to rock music.
After all that's what problem adults  do,
somehow present themselves as impossible and proverbially
be sent to Coventry on their own behest,
which is not the same as scattered in
mouse land however you call it
.
Antony Glaser Apr 2022
Half the world is contrite
the other half wanton
I hope to make it some day
in the bright lights

I tried to talk on the telephone
the silence was too much
I tried to read a letter
but I could only do it between the lines

For the good times have come to an end
I've got to find relief
Antony Glaser May 2018
I wrote pretty songs for you,
half expecting some applause.
Yet you walked away.
No sugar casing
just the improbable heart.
Antony Glaser May 2022
I listen to the ebbs of the day
it never stops.
Under orange sky
I force a smile,
the coarse roots of the earth
rolls into one,
stepping forth, testing .
I fall to my knees
peace evades me.
I bench by parched broken trees,
breathing in a forest of leaves
am I my own law?
Antony Glaser Sep 2022
It was a long time coming
But now she says she wants her escape
weekends to replenish her sleepless nights
She has a gypsy's travel lust
Complains never gets cuddles
Walks over her men
Alikens herself to marmite
You are forced to either hate or love her
She's got her toxic relationship now
Where is her humanity
and true voix
of what she is really feeling
Never talks politics
despite reading the Mail,
seeks a  bad reaction everytime
never gave him a chance
Where does her gentleman lay
with  broken hearts
never happy now
Antony Glaser May 2018
I saw what looks like full framed timbers
rabald people passing through
London Bridge
every passerby premises a different life story
happy, indifferent, bothersome.
I alone stand gazing,
much admiring their endeavours
they have every chance to thrive
more fortunate than salmons
no short life mission
but a myriad development
aided by passion for materialism
that sees their umbrellas sign post Copenhagen  2012
Antony Glaser May 2017
Had a coffee today
it unquestionably feeds an urge to be an addict
The sun shone brightly  and  made  me feel
the forthcoming weather would be harsh.
My freckles showing like a garland
The flowers down the street were in bloom
Yellow Irises capture a  certain light
as I pass  by
Amazing what pottering  around can do or so it seems with the 230 hits.
Antony Glaser Jun 2018
I profess to stay at home
when butterfly days calls
i am afraid of love
a mere coward
unchancing his luck
Antony Glaser Dec 2014
She needs lip balm
to soften her chapped lips,
perhaps  she's spoken out of turn too often.
pity that she should think life goes in circles.
I assure her there's  no  Karma
just the softly softly of window gazing
to pick and unravel if she cares enough
Antony Glaser Jun 2018
Striker are you drifting deeper ?
like a central defender on recourse !
Antony Glaser Mar 2022
Down the cafe
they always hear about my extended dry patch
and it's not just the staff
but customers too that aid and abet
my marooned tadpoles fears
They've encouraged my Ukrainian War poem
and developed my nature poems
from cold patches we have been having
to  near spring-like weather
Antony Glaser May 2018
The acolyte knew of Isis's reign
He followed the course of the Nile,
chased the shadow of the desert
made thirst of secrets
he kept as Afro light.
Antony Glaser Mar 2014
Each room has a  glow
a basking room, an aural one
if they were  circumferences
would they arc beyond the horizon?
and by unfurling  my imagination
why would  I not choose to unloosen my  certainties?
a  certain light quality permeates
only to  find  a hallway
even more intense
an antechamber in a  prism.
Antony Glaser Jan 2016
With blepharitis she try  not  rub her eye
but already she's  preoccupied
with the state of things
her once quiet  road is a  cut through.
The  bus  is getting  more crowded with school children.
It doesn't feel such a  lucky town
it sold  itself with a 15  mins journey to the centre of London
and still  local authorities  distributes their loons
in leafy lanes.
I heard they hang around at night
their dreams  remiss
like  dragging  up the sensitivity
Antony Glaser Jul 2022
They call you black beauty
there's no chrome in your body.
$160 short of your sister Canon F1.
Semi-automatic shutter priority
and beguiling manual operation too.
A 30-second-time relay,
making you part electronic.
You're part mechanical too, with a
farmed out Cobalt square shutter
with silver breech FD lens
and rumored platiminium hidden somewhere in your body
Antony Glaser Mar 2016
The  joy  to  be
outlives  dreams
yet we must  sense  cuboid  skies
will follow one  to  the  breathe
of  forever
where the winds  will clusp  you
to  the  next voyage.
But  today  must  be   considered  beautiful
for  there should  be  no foresight
than the  simplicity

The joy of now should outlive  dreams,
yet we must remember there are cuboid skies,
who would rather hem us in
until our very last breathe.
But today must be considered beautiful
for there should be no foresight
other than simplicity.

Follow up at unhappiness
The sweet deadly rinse of decay
passing through chaos
A Windrush forest flame asures

I walk on the seashore
Through ordeals reign of pain
The deep sea canyons
To the ocean of despair
Those lonely contestations
Will fall away like confetti
Antony Glaser Dec 2014
I often wonder if  truth is delirious
ripe like summer ****.
I often think of  my friends as fruit
There's Jenny with peach complexion
and Ruby a beguiling plum
Maybe  one day my  lover will call me subtle
but what should I call her?
Perhaps I should call everyone  porcelain,
to jest too far, is to  personalize unthinking
merriment on the  blind side!
Antony Glaser Jun 2018
Carleigh is thinking of you,
she wishes happy birthday
and hopes the weather isn't drear.
She's the girl with the right answers
who lives alone with Topsie her cat
and has an orchard of Apple trees.
She likes the personal touch
with fragrant letters she send to you,
and bicycle rides in the early spring.
But never pigeonhole her,
her smile has so much abundance.
Antony Glaser Apr 2022
She's sleeping in a rose tainted dream
she can almost sense the calm of the coast
Once she loved a man with hands of foam
his words went through her soul,
naked incessantly so
don't cry child the water is warm
there's a scope for listening
carried by the wind
Antony Glaser Feb 2022
There's karma high in the sky,
and a valley lost in the snow,
green will have birth
as the swallow flies by,
the roughish boy runs errant
to the castle in his mind's eye,
framed by shadows of  rocks  with slime
beyond the rosy blue gorge.
cat
Antony Glaser May 2018
cat
I'm the cat that gets the creme
i may look lost and disposed
until you feed me.
If you have your own cats,
despite giving me a name.
I upsurp them, half knowing i've done wrong.
I will leave and be feed by a doting  spinster,
just for effect.
Antony Glaser Oct 2021
Your cat, cool and domesticated
runs with our chaotic life
of tubular bells, internet innoculations
and nonarrival of dustbin

To her, our lives must be hellish
with its discordance and moral panics
What a wonderful creature
for putting up with our foibles
Antony Glaser Oct 2021
I want to elucidate
with an educated cat
like a Siamese
I call Sebastian,
One who can sing
and has blue eyes
like Frank Sinatra
and who makes
bagel plans with me
Antony Glaser Jan 2022
Musing hastenings this veiled platitude
between a rock and hard place
you figure a path
galloping as best as you can
remembering history
with your electric  contact
the hum of a heater
eddies these days
Antony Glaser Jan 2022
The hum of electric contacts
fire heater
and the best nook by the computer
Interstellar locations
of the domestic lounge-type

arching your back
for a stroke
while carrying on sleeping
one open -eyed Patrick
let's articulate the imitative
Antony Glaser Jan 2022
you are both moggie and
sheik rolled into one
commonsensical and nature elated
springtime forward
we follow your course
bathing by the fireplace
you are impervious to extremes
Electric 9 lives
a happenstance of excellence
loved amongst others
I call you Patrick
Antony Glaser Jan 2022
elated amongst others
kind as a woven spell
clean as housework furnished
a tufty moggie for all seasons

bathing in your after care
you make a mensch of us all
countless others cant compare
to your inseparability
and after care
Antony Glaser Jan 2022
an ex stray makes the best pet
rested and assured
after hedging our footsteps
when first encounted
now you've nurtured
and are a long lasting loyal friend
hopefully you forget your trauma

solid as a rock
yet slightly territorial
with the other cat,
we await your daily developments
you made for as a hero
Antony Glaser Jan 2022
I am your stepfather
I saw your birth Mother's face
Scrawny and depleted
Never did I think this
would be a harbinger
for your finite size
I was told by the Vet you have
some Siamese lineage
Your intransigence
is at times too troublesome
Clawing me at the third stroke
but a Father always forgives his Son
Your eyes talk to me
with a haunting no comment
for any ascertainable question
I may ponder to ask you
Antony Glaser Jan 2022
Peter adorns the lounge
his slim frame belies his size
orange filters through his black slique coat
but be on your guard
in a lapse of time
his teeth will sink into your hand
no guard dog but a temperamental soul instead
Antony Glaser Jan 2022
He twitches his whiskers
by the window
in some symbiotic compliance at the birds sound
in the middle of the day

He flattens his sleek stomach
alongside the sofa
to hide from the current world
but he is no coward
or your ordinary moggie
but a kindly tail
Antony Glaser Jan 2022
What prayer do you wish for?
sheik and castrated
you grace us with your wisdom
and nepeta high as a kite
your mousing myriad
as a coat hanger
Antony Glaser Jan 2022
Lays like a tiger
Head titled upwards
Pure survival
dreams of the stars
no apologies thereafter
Eyes jettisoning
through the layers
of impartiality
Antony Glaser Jan 2022
That little stray
what terrors did he see?
Feed him in the snowy December garden
until he came inside

He was a tomcat
until he was  spaded
then he finds his solace
emerging up the landing
feeding tray by tray

Now he is comfortable
by the computer chair
and is feed at the top of the stairs
Still terroritial
he plays crumb fights
with the resident cat
Antony Glaser Jan 2022
The cat has his sport
despite being a mature 14
he impatiently claws moi
It's not according to plan
me and you against the world

You are both a mystericant
and exhibitionist
laying deftly on the couch

Who knows your foible ways
what car danger do you persist
to live up to your nine lives
Antony Glaser Jan 2022
His mousing days gets longer
His instinctive prey is abetted
by a seeming maturity

He sits on the garage roof
warry of any stray diversion
in his dominion
He suffers no time for fools

He is his own plaything
being innocent
of giving pain
Antony Glaser Jan 2022
Their dulcet tones
feeding them by the runcible spoon
Is there a calamity in their velocity
Their earthly maneuvers
makes us a vision of beauty
Glances that make a betrothal
yet there's no omission
Just an absorbency of perfection
serving the spirit
Antony Glaser Jun 2018
Cats are our friends,
they're a gift from ancient Egypt
and when they offer you a mouse
accept it with due diligence.
It's their hail from Atum Ra's moment.
They are intelligently dexterous
yet determined.
I like the tuxedo variety,
akin to the best suited James Bond,
service with an  indelible  smurf
all 009 lives of them.
Smurf in my poem  means a gamer posing as a newbie. Cats are like this they are intelligent operators with more nuance than expected.
Antony Glaser Jan 2022
A country alleyway  for Jennifer
growing buds for spring
and sights of field mice

Enshrined in her smile
dwells an obedient soul
An expected turn
affable and confirmed
surrendering
her mysteries
Antony Glaser Jan 2022
Fashionably festooning your claws, hold dear
the symbiotic  shaped  relationship
between master and cherished
A shared history
worthy of remembering
those exuberant paws
through the grab of time
into space and blossoming
Antony Glaser Jun 2018
Cats are mystical  creatures.
Their moods are rangeful;
when its hot they plonk themselves
on your lap,
when its cold they sleep all day
Do they think it be better in the night?
And of course if you are afraid of them
they instinctively sit next to you
hoping you unlearn your fear !
A cat can never be a cliche
they are too cunning
its up to us humans
second guessing them.

Caught in November
Troubadors sing their hearts out
Surround me evermore
Spirits caught in castle ruins
Frangipani wait to hark
Poppy dogs with sheepish eyes
lost in the dark
Happy as a jester in Lincolnshire fayres
Dragons Tooth flowering late
Ordinariness dressed in leitmotifs
Antony Glaser Feb 2022
Troubadors sing their hearts out
Surround me evermore.
Spirits caught in castled ruins.
Frangipani wait to hark.
Poppy dogs with sheepish eyes
lost in the dark.
Happy as Larry in Lincolnshire fayres.
Dragons Tooth flowering late.
Ordinariness dressed in leitmotifs,
starts to fade
Antony Glaser Jun 2022
Remember the first photograph
before the cool of summer was spent,
the drench of rainwater presided.
A woman  scorned,
past lovers travail,
come on here's a message in my head,
so we can plant the beating of your heart,
and watch the fields turn green,
wake with pride,
to the banality of bullfrogs shouting,
whilst the war goes on.
With an optic view of a grave,
howling with  blood.
Antony Glaser Feb 2022
Pale riders ride
upon the crest of a wave,
favoring chance that
happenstances along the way.
Screeching wheels of endeavor
proclaims the day.
They pronounce on a hum
the daily turn of the day.
