The cliffs of home
Anna Lee Nov 2018
The cliffs of home stand
With all their memories
The thrashing waves
And birds warning melodies

The route was easy
It wasn’t far
Easy to get to
The path by the bar

I look around
Walking along
It didn’t seem right
Something was too wrong

I reach the cliff i dreamed of
All I had to do was climb down the cliff
Without fear
Until I hear the birds warning riff

I steady myself cautiously
And make my way down

I loose my balance
A trip
A cliff
A clip
A flip

Nothing clear
Nothing clear
Nothing clear
Nothing clear

Fallen
Anna Lee Dec 2018
I saw you yesterday
I’m waiting
I leave tomorrow
I’m waiting

Tell me you are reading this
I’m waiting
Room 1405
I’m waiting

Come and see
I’m waiting

5 knocks so I know it’s you
I’m waiting
We’ll be together
I’m waiting

Come to me
I’m waiting
Just for tonight
I’m waiting

I’ve fallen for you
No more waiting
I wish I could find you
No more waiting

I love you now.

Today’s world
Anna Lee Dec 2018
Am I the only one ?
Feeling stuck in this world
In a normality already here
With everything already done ?

The world we’ve created
With no ambitions
Dreams out of reach
Stuck in a world of dependence

We can travel
Do whatever we want
That’s enough for some
Yet Stuck in a world of dependence

I’m not a lunatic
I’m not going to change the world
I’m going to be stuck in the usual
And stuck in a world of dependence

My dream to be an actress
Many years ahead of me
I doubt I’ll achieve
Forever stuck in a world of dependence

Even as an actress
So many other young girls dreams
In a world I wished to be mine
The imagination of someone else
Still stuck In a world of dependence

The happiest day of my life it will be
The birth of my daughter
Knowing I’ll teach her all she needs
Not education, how to survive normally
Create her a world of independence
Me forever in a world of dependence

I want a different story
Something that no human knows
Something to keep for myself
My little world of independence
But for now
Stuck in a world of dependence.

Changing of the seasons
Anna Lee Nov 2018
The dewdrops gone
Out of sight
The unquenchable thirst
The unending light

The aroma of cut grass
Adventures in the sun
Crashing through the water
People having fun

People heading back home
The summer fades away
In to the coldness
That has set round us today

Now I can see
There is no longer colour in the ground
A sly bitterness in the air
And no one to be found

But I then look around
Surprised at what I see
This isn’t plants dying and cold
Just the way it has to be

So I will dance this winter
Until it turns to spring
It may be juvenile
But maybe joy it may bring

So when the world feels gloomy
Think of what it means
Everything will come back together
And think of it all as one big team
This is the first official poem I ever wrote to be put online and viewed. Hope u like it!
