There once was a child with too many things—
a box full of buttons, a bird made of strings,
a hat that belonged to a father now gone,
a watch that still ticked but the hour was wrong.

She carried them all in a bag on her back,
each item a whisper, a worry, a crack.
No room for a coat, no space for a friend—
just memories packed without start, without end.

A pebble from rivers she never walked near,
a note with no sender, a name she held dear.
She lugged it through summers and staggered through snow,
refusing to leave what had once helped her grow.

One day she met someone who carried no sack.
He smiled and said, “You could put some things back.”
She frowned and said, “But these are my keeps.”
He nodded and asked, “And which ones still speak?”

She opened the bag and began to let go—
a feather, a fork, a torn shadow of woe.
Not all, but a few. Just enough to stand tall.
Her back learned to breathe, and she started to fall—

into walking, not dragging. Into days made of now.
The road felt like song. She forgot the old how.
She still kept a key and a small silver bell—
but she learned not all stories are hers to retell.

in the laboratory of life unseen words are sprouting
they decenter time or they hit themselves against
the windows like birds do
they circle the emotional memory of our aorta
they smell of dust mixed with blood
they search for that place in your gaze where
is never too hot
We’ll hitchhike to mars
on a rocket not a car,
so say your au revoirs.

We’ll steer towards Polaris, the north star
right through the center of the milky-way-bar.
See, the universe is dark and chocolatey.

Stars that glitter like multi-faceted gems,
are just shiny, yellow, peanut M&Ms,
take a handful, if you’d like, they’re free.

We’ll dodge the silhouetted moon,
which is made of enough coconut macaroon,
to make a French confectioner swoon.

As we go streaking, like a comet’s tail,
drag a finger through Saturn’s rings as well,
those are made of marshmallow.

We’ll  pass nebulae made of cotton-kandi,
and here’s a fact Einstein would have found handy,
the speed of light doesn’t apply to candy.

Ramble on by Toni Jevicky
No temo a la soledad del desierto,
ese vasto espejo donde el eco
se devuelve intacto,
sin máscaras.

No temo al amor ausente,
a ese fantasma
que otros persiguen
con redes de palabras huecas.

Mis ojos no retroceden
ante sonrisas apagadas,
esas que fueron faros
y ahora son luciérnagas muertas
en frascos de nostalgia.

Las supernovas no me asustan.
Yo mismo fui polvo de estrellas,
resto de un Big Bang
que aún resuena
en mis costillas.

Nunca regalé piropos
como monedas falsas.
Respeté los jardines ajenos,
aún cuando mis manos
se secaban
por falta de rocío.

Así aprendí a caminar:
mirando primero la tierra,
luego las siluetas,
por si acaso
alguna sombra
quisiera ser mi dueña.

Los ojos azules no me cazaron,
ni el cabello café
que huele a promesas,
ni esas manos
—suaves jaulas—
que solo buscaban
aprisionar
lo que el viento
se llevaría.

Sigo esperando el barco
que no tema anclar
cuando las nubes
se vuelvan puñales.
La que prefiera mis olas,
aun las más bravas,
a los mares tranquilos
donde solo flotan
corazones de plástico.

Mientras, navego
en aguas prestadas,
náufrago de mí mismo,
mordiendo sal
y escupiendo versos.

Las estrellas,
esas cobardes hermosas,
huyen del amanecer.
Yo no.
Me quedo
a ver cómo la luz
me desnuda
sin piedad.

Every drop that falls
Is part of an echo
Distanced by the valley
Surrounded by the mountains
Carried by the winds
Silenced by the rain
Joining the million
On an untraveled path
Into little streams
To make a waterfall

Distanced by the valleys
Carried by the winds
Since ancient times
Absorbed by the roots
Nourishing the soul
Of Mother Earth

A drop into eternity
Journey it takes, joyfully
Joined by a million
To be
A part of the whole
Eternally
I blow the new dust
off the old dust ,
the dust that remains forever.
I told her ,
"You steal my time
and my money ,
my house and
all my integrity .
But you will never steal my heart ."
