john wakes iceland sky writing people smiling christmas says ice wild socially distanced here once eyes even ground sheet tree sight stars thirteen degrees below sun rises eleven south lolls pink red three hours falls again exhausted twilight glows slow curtain cold fire swings across harbour dances boots waltz aurora borealis kneels feet north atlantic humming himself quoting prophets sixties reaching deep globe heaven hold exotic potted plant between hands sunday morning colour does best sprawl easy leather chair ankles crossed matching footstool scrawling tiny buzz ears bee wasp weak locate otherwise quiet house end dirt track bordered trees personal appian lacks only crucifiedrebels world worlds away versions isolation glad travellers tale great stone dragons teeth knives guard steps thin women black solemn mourners watch gates guide tall hat welcomes bows low palms against travelled far boat rail reach place mysterious jadegreen land yet gods silent authority today lizard antiquity
