I am new to writing poetry and have, to date, written four simple poems. / / My first was at the request of a friend who asked me to write a poem for a digital photo I edited and altered to create a glorious female bull (yes, I know about the equipment problem, but, hey, poetic license). I called this fantastical creature, and the poem she inspired, Toro Hembra. In the story, Toro Hembra appears out of thin air one Halloween night. Some random fellow, in full matador regalia, is walking by on his way to a costume ball, and, suddenly, his red cape catches a breeze. For more, go read Toro Hembra. It was a sign that I needed to do more of that. / / I googled "poetry" and amongst the crowded field I spotted the friendly and uncomplicated "hellopoetry.com" and chose it to be home to my fledgling prose in hopes it one day soars.
