American always tip-toeing at the spine of something new

minute blue petals father beneath wonder eyes baby hold will mother bright skin ground smile ashes sift ears rang bees laughter heart heels choking roses firefly cobwebs grow child splitting debris elegy follow cold gasping children laced death clicked field send absence spread black wearing garden hands feathered sharpened intertwined lost oncoming leave handprints melodies ponytailed orchids schemes tinting hair click debri closed laughing shut screams dirt lover disappeared water kicking honeysuckle bleed paralyzing fingerstems shards serenity swim footsteps blind fingerstemmed love sweep blink singing fed remains caught long clicking sunshine hear deep breaths stems eat cracks frozen gotta plunged remain dirty faded growing ceiling constellations cluster buried ink sought floor shuttered split lullabyes breaststroke life palms separate crawling stay depths ridges dust backyard bloom mosaic longing forever chasing rotting holes patterns breeze incomplete
