Blooming lillies the shade of bubblegum
dance on top an emerald mirror
like little pink fingers
reaching towards the sun from the depths below
they flourish happily in serenity

Streams giggle like children in the distance
and lilly pads coat the surface like blankets
concealing the aquatic world beneath
The lillies climb above the water
and lounge as sentries do

For who else is going to protect
and cherish the luscious beauty of the pond
but the lillies themselves?
