Sentenced to Life
It was as though I had been on trial
for nineteen years,
due process
disallowed.
The prosecution-
my chemical imbalance-
so harsh,
eased up.
The defense-
Prozac-
allowed to make
my case.
I remember it well;
the day
I decided
to let myself live.
