picked up the phone
ringing in tongues

hello dear words
time stamped in white

idioms in digital limbo
casting a net of zeros and ones

primal packets once dots and dashes
hoping to gain sound or sight

numbed senses by arthritic messages
left twisting in the wind of microseconds

faster than a speeding bullet
but unable to leap imagination's bound

there it is again
a ringing in the ear, carnival sounds
