I walk into a room and I’m the life the party
Everything seems to be crazy; all the eyes are on me
The spotlight shines on me and I don’t know why
It just happened but I feel dead inside

When I was with you, a sudden smile from me would make you smile
I was me and I was happy but that was a long time ago back a while
I don’t know how I got here but all I know is I need you right next to me
I can’t be happy; I can’t take the spotlight, when I know you’re not at the party

I tell a joke and everyone seems to laugh and have a good time
I’m wondering what you’re doing and why you’re on my mind
The spotlight shines on me, and I don’t know what to say
I’m just wondering in sadness why you had to go away

I remember when I was your one and only clown
I would make you laugh and tear away that frown
But now that’s my job for everyone who’s down
I’m like this superhero that doesn't have his hero around

Money and fame came to me and it made you disappear
Success and fortune wasn't what I wanted, I just wanted you here
I was living everyone’s dream of being this rich lovable guy
But was it really worth the price of dying inside.
