'all the Kings horses and all the Kings men'
couldn't put Britain together again

fractured
split at both ends
but
the middle holds tightly
to
its broken down friends.

Life here's a menace
like Venice
we're sinking

the great British lion
just cries on
my shoulder.

aren't we the fighters?
the stoic'
heroic,
I know that it used to be so

I watch the Kings mountsย as they go
and shovel up the horse ****
as I'm doing a bit of gardening
tomorrow.
