The truth he spoke came from twisted branches
Unlike sacred vows within a stormy sea
Departing from my sight with such abruptness
Until I knew that only he
Could set me free

My spirit searched blindly within my breast
For the truth he spoke to me
Knowing time had come to undress
All those twisted branches
In my sight I see

I yearn once again to hear the charm of his truth
To drown the vows of my stormy sea
A hundred times I would forsake my youth
From my sacred vows
I would flee

The truth he spoke drifted in as three words
Touching the very soul of me
Why did I let them leave my heart unheard
Knowing only his truth
Could set me free

Leaves grow on the wishes she holds
At the top is a bright light
Not a single blow
In five years, I am told
Has she taken
Not standing
Upright

Her journey is covered in water
Spread by
A familiar face
Yet she does not
Let a single drop matter
Her heart stings
But remains in place

An eagle flies straight and true within
Near to the wishes she holds
Carrying the rose
She will have once again
Before
She gives up
Or folds

She will come to her right, before she goes
Leaves the eyes of this world
Darkness will settle
On her bright light
She knows
Before her fists
Will uncurl

Even as you leave my presence, I must collect my heart
And softly weave my memories one by one
On the edges, they quietly sit apart
Until I say to myself
I am done

If the ocean could overhear, the memories I recall
I could throw a net reaching out for miles
Capture every bit of love as it falls
To join the lines of our hearts
In my smile

All along the blue skies, in the shadows of the sun
Inside of these memories, I could spend days
Traveling through my heart’s caverns
Inhaling a touch left trailing
Of the things you say

Even as you leave my presence, I must collect my heart
Draw back time enough to sweetly examine
The joy all these memories will impart
Until I say to myself
I am done

I have tried many things, to catch the sunlight’s liquid glow
A ray of morning, I once thought I embraced
Where all smoothness flowed upon my own plateau
I closed my eyes
Felt it brush across my face

I found a shining beam, peeping through an apple tree
Yet when I climbed up to hold it close
It left my hands in exile and I could no longer see
The very thing
I wanted the most

So I turned my fondest eyes, up into the glorious skies
Opened up my heart to catch the glow
To this very day I hold liquid sunlight here inside
You can see it when I smile
Then you will know

I have come to you on a moonless night, like a picture in a book
Seas of mist are within my sight, towards heaven still
The scent of a silent sound flows to you as a brook
Breathe in and tell me what you feel

Now tell me to whom do you belong, can you feel my murmuring
Whispering through the pages of your mind
My sea of mist is softly glimmering
Pure heaven is yours to find

Can you feel the warmest mingling, as you view this picture here
Come walk along this moonless pathway with me
I will tell you to whom I belong, as the moon reappears
Breathe in your heaven, it is light you see

Mountains stand, yet only view, others as gusts of rain
Yet a dream stands there in silence
Even in this time our hearts can ascertain
It is here we can find our balance

There are footsteps seeking out tomorrow’s fountains
Shining golden in their quest
That look up into the faces of these mountains
With silent dreams which never rest

To return to their homes, there is never any thought
When they see the gentle leaving of day
Feather across the peaks, when the eve is sought
Taking one more step along the way

There is blood on the sandals and gold in the hearts
Of the dreamers who quests are ascertained
Mountains stand
Viewing others as one side apart
While silent dreams, become much more
Than gusts of rain

A shadow of a flower fell on the way
I looked at the face of you
Too much and too little
Did I have to say
When this shadow fell
On my face too

My thoughts drifted into a twilight of being
Seized the past and blamed it on you
Forgetting that today
Should be all I was seeing
In your beautiful eyes
Of blue

I did not tell you how you make my heart sing
Lift straight up from my chest
Take off in the air as if carried on wings
Or how in your sweet love
I am
So blessed

Instead, I looked for wounds and scars
On your heart and mine
Wondered aloud
How we had gotten this far
Thought I would bleed
If you were unkind

I did not tell you that you are a rose
A joy of blue, shading my crimson fears
When this shadow fell, on our faces
I chose
To hold you responsible
For all of my tears

A shadow of a flower fell on the way
I looked in the heart of you
Yet you moved from that shadow
As if to say
You can trust me
I will trust you

Your hair brown as the earth...
Your lips red as an apple...
Your feet so firm on the ground like a tree...
Your hands flapping like leaves in the breeze...

I want to taste your sweetness for good...
I am Lazarus

wrapped

in bandages

Of Insecurities

Fear,Doubt

Lies,Scars

and Lost dreams.

I am Lazarus!

I am Dead!

Unwrap my bandages,

Feel me Naked,

Breathe in me

your breath,

So I can live!

Dress me

with your heart,

So I can love.
