They dance around my body in black and blue
They sing to my skin when I sit, fall
They paint pictures over my pale canvas

I don't know how to stop them
From dancing
From stomping

But there is one thing I do know

I can get away
Away from the person that paints
The woman that sings
And the man that dances though the night

I've done it before
How hard could it be

last night I could have sworn that you died
I watched the light fade from your eyes
beautiful crystal eyes

last night I could have sworn that you died
we were fighting the monsters under my bed
blue blood everywhere

last night you died

so why,
why are you crying?

I try to speak but you don't hear me
so I scream
I scream but no one turns their head

why are you crying?
holding a picture of the two of us

why are you crying?
"I couldn't protect you," he says

last night I died
fighting a monster on my bed

red blood everywhere
