You.
Zed Jul 2014
You,
tears streaming down your face. Cloudy eyes.
Lips slightly apart, gasping for air.
Yet you still hold my hands, embrace me,
swallow me whole, eat my every word.
Through them cloudy eyes hope still glistens.
You,
you still love me.
This is the first time I've written a poem in a couple of years. I know it's kinda shabby. But hey.

I am
Zed Jun 2016
I am a princess, not yet a queen.
Many mistakes are made but I am
learning to carry them.
I carry the wrongdoings of rulers
before me and the pain of my brothers
and sisters.

I am the uncollided atoms bringing the
birth of a new universe.
My stomach overflows with not yet created star dust.
I am the water you drink,
the air you breathe,
the flames you see and the earth you feel.

I am the tongue that tastes the languages of this world.
I taste the words of my people,
swallowing them whole and spitting them out
in their rawness.
I am the whispers and sighs of the tired,
the weak and the broken.
I am their voice.

I am the purest form of cocoa,
combined with the sweetest drops of honey.
I am single drop of the most bitter molasses.
I am the makings of a strong, strong woman.
I am.
