His day began in the ususal way
Kissed his wife goodbye
Wished his kids a good day
Death was the furthest thing
From his mind
Before leaving his house
For thevery last time

He wore his uniform
With a great deal of pride
He was proud to be
On the good guy's side
To ser ve and protect
Was his motto and guide
Right up until the day that he died

He and his partner
Turned out at roll call
With no indication
This day they would fall
They drove their patrol car
To their assignment
Where they were killed
In a narrow confinement

They wore their uniforms
With a great deal of pride
So proud to be on the good guy's side
To serve and protect
Was their motto and guide
Right up until the day that they died

What on earth
Goes through somebody's head
To do such a thing
That left two people dead
But from Baltimore
The dark stranger came
And committed the deed
In someone else's name

They wore their uniforms
With a great deal of pride
So proud to be on the good guy's side
To serve and protect
Was their motto and guide
Right up until the day that they died
