Poor wee cat lost in the dirt
trodden on when wee and hurt
lived on worms and ***** things
insects crawlies all with wings
you fell lucky furry boy
found a family full of joy
hunted you until they won
took you in for love and fun
now you weigh a lot of pounds
your belly drags along the ground
but such a baby you're so sweet
rubbing all around our feet
"Dry me off then put some food
in my dish please don't be rude!"
I have to say that in my mind
a cuter moggie can't be found
If am born next as a cat
I'll be like Wilson soft and fat!

He twitches his whiskers
by the window
in some symbiotic compliance at the birds sound
in the middle of the day

He flattens his sleek stomach
alongside the sofa
to hide from the current world
but he is no coward
or your ordinary moggie
but a kindly tail
It's a Tom, not ****, but Larry,
not Harry and Larry's the cat
that got rid of that at Number 10,

let's see what he makes of the next tenant.

you are both moggie and
sheik rolled into one
commonsensical and nature elated
springtime forward
we follow your course
bathing by the fireplace
you are impervious to extremes
Electric 9 lives
a happenstance of excellence
loved amongst others
I call you Patrick

every man and his dog
every woman and her moggie
turn into a hungry hog
with a plate of fried Pierogi

every husband and his wife
every guy and his amigos
grab a spoon, forget the knife
let's get stuck into some Bigos

every old man with his horse
every young one with his hot car
know that Polish food is incomplete of course
without a shot of *****
Antony Glaser Jan 2022
elated amongst others
kind as a woven spell
clean as housework furnished
a tufty moggie for all seasons

bathing in your after care
you make a mensch of us all
countless others cant compare
to your inseparability
and after care
I have a black cat his name is Bob he is a great mouser and really good at his job.
He stalks the stairs as he listens for sound. Where ever it be in the roof or down under ground.
Up in the attic he scratches the door and try to scratch his way through the floor.
One day he found a rat it looked half dead in Granmars old hat the rat looked thin and rather meek it looked like it had not eaten for a week, Bob was upset because he thought he had a good meal to himself he must have thought it was not a good deal to find a rat without having to fight now l canot take one tiny bite.
Poor old Bob catching a rat with no meat to eat its about time l gave him a moggie treat.
A nice few biscuits and a lump of fish is so much nicer than a srawnie rat dish.
I love a quite poem this is my first poem l have written in over two years since my husband died ldo hope it goes down well
