"milarepa" poems
Milarepa had searched everywhere for enlightenment, but could find no answer - until one day, he saw an old man walking slowly down a mountain path, carrying a heavy sack. Immediately, Milarepa sensed that this old man knew than secret he had been searching for. "Old man, please tell me what you know, What is enlightenment?" The old man smiled at him for a moment and swung the heavy burden off his shoulders, and stood straight. "Yes I see!" cried Milarepa "My ever lasting gratitude. But please, one question more. What is after enlightenment?" Smiling again, the old man picked up his sack once again. Slung it over his shoulders, steadied his burden, and continued on his way.

ENLIGHTENMENT
Cascading spider eyes Colliding galaxies in midnight skies Forty-thousand light years away Sixty-billion quarks on the head of a pin. Seventy-five dollars a month, Just to keep the signal coming in. Milarepa, caterpillar of the Himalayas, Sat in a cave Ate nettles And swallowed the cosmos In a single gulp. Gregor, my friend, I hear you are thinking Of ending it all again. Please consider, It’s entirely possible There may be no where else to go.
