Once Upon A Wind Nov 2013
When you can't fix what has been broken
or regain what has been lost,
all people need is a hand
and to let them know that you understand.
Once Upon A Wind Nov 2013
I'm waiting
It's this girl you see
Just one particular person
She's just very special to me

She mostly dresses in black
I think it's because of her past
And though she hides it well
Looking hard enough sees emotional cracks

Her eyes glow like diamonds
And her hair like brown wind-blown silk
However, her personality really hooked me
Just quiet, contented to be

She doesn't talk a whole lot
Not to me anyways
She just keeps a close circle of friends
And pushes me out of the way

I've tried talking to her
Several times now, but each time it's the same
Something about trust and differences
Then she just turns and walks away

So here I am waiting
It's seemed long now
Weeks to months turn years
Waiting for the girl in black

Is it worth the wait you might ask?
If I told myself no I'd be lying
For waiting is all that's left
So I'll continue to hope undying

This world is broken - that's the truth of it
It's why some people keep fighting while others turn a blind eye and get used to it
Why fathers leave and mothers cry and single parents struggle to get by
Why families break and monsters **** and instead of helping, people hesitate
Why unborn babies still and brothers **** and all that once was good rebels against God's will
Why fires burn and chaos churns and darkness engulfs all worldly concern
Why people lie and loved ones die and addicted users turn criminal to get high
Why hope is shorn and love is scorned and the diseased and broken are forlorn
Why children are abused and darkness becomes a popular muse while innocence is refused
This world - our world, it's a constant battle people seem to consistently lose

I can make you new, take your hurt, set you free
The worldly pressures no longer burying me
My broken heart for all to see
My unlocked soul to absorb all misery
Give me your hand, let me turn you free
I can save you, redeem you since they crucified me
Stack your griefs at the hill of sacrificial victory
I am with you forever, so breathe easy you'll see
Trust me, I love you, just come follow me
Signed, sincerely your savior †o be

In my heart,
a violent sea rages
full of tears and emotions
that threatens to consume me.
So fraught
that I will never be able
to reach the surface again
nor see the light of day.

But through the growing darkness,
a small pin of light glimmers
and slowly grows.
Obscured by the ashen rocks
and burnt-out tree stumps,
it slowly sheds light
on this forgotten wasteland of obsidian
that I call my own.

Even in this forsaken place,
there is an essence of serenity
- a ray of undying hope
that fills my thoughts
with the fond memories of you.
My soul is filled with anguish
and my bones crack and grind against each other
for the fear of never being able
to touch your face or hold
your hands in mine again.

I can neither let you go
nor let you fade away
into the mists of time.
So I choose to endure this torture
in hope that you will love me
in the way that I love you.
For that one chance,
I would gladly endure ten times this agony
to know what you feel.
So I wait,
in my darkened world of fading shadows
staring up at the small pin of light.
Waiting…
Waiting for morning
and the day.

As deep calls to deep, melodies reach out across the midnight sweep
Dark mountain to mountain, black chain to chain, all their calls remain the same
Island to island to shore to shore, the darkened journey ensures the lore
Sky the ocean, pool of stars - spinning, blurring, fleeting far
World of water were feet may fail, hidden, secret behind the veil
Peaceful watcher in night wind’s keep, speak now or forever weep
Rain of dew chilled by night’s sleep, fall beneath where ever fitful winds meet
Sole witness to night of awe, valley low and mountain tall
Chorus of voices, choir of sound, all impart the nighttime's resound

Life is too short not to dream
And too long not to have someone to dream with

So, dream your dreams, find your bliss
Yes, live your dreams, remember this
