The Artist
Vincent Argiro Jun 2019
Fire ablaze in the forge
Gold and silver smelting to
Incandescence

Moulds laid out on the bench
Drawings guiding from an
Orange-lit wall

The artist raises his strengthening arms
He invokes The Muse
She answers with a silent breath

The hair on the back of his neck
Climbs *****
Released from slumber
All of his animal spirits converge

New treasure is born

San Josef Bay
Vincent Argiro May 2019
I am birthed from the verdant forest
Upon your openness

Distant surf breaks murmuring
Upon my grateful sailor’s ears

Under foot a tapestry of woven sand
In myriad patterns delights my downcast eyes

I open my palms to swallow the beauty
My heartaches ebb away
Like the tidewater before me

In reverence
I am alone
I am free

Woman in Red
Vincent Argiro May 2019
Incandescent,
Your cheeks shine
Like no rose on Earth

Eyes aflame,
No one can look away

Voice flowing,
Like vital blood

You are ablaze in my heart
I am aglow in yours

Tonight

Tonight

Our energies entwined
Serpents dancing in light

Union is effortless
When souls are twinned
