No more magic wands
Or spell bound words
No more ghostly haunts
Or reptilian birds

No more monsters in the dark
Not in the pond nor lake
No more pirates in the park
Not at the bar nor plank

I hid them in my heart
To harden in the flame
Dearly they departed
To indentured fame

Maybe I will try my hardest
And make a change

Maybe I'll be dishonest
And do the same

Be a monster in the closet
And win the game
People question why
unfortunate circumstances
happen to them,
and why are they alone.

I believe we need
to experience these things;
for our souls to grow.

Though we are never
sent out as sheep without a
guardian to follow.

One day, my darling,
One day we will be the King and Queen
of the universe.
We will show them mercy
and be kind to those who forsook us.

One day, my darling,
One day, money will cease
to control us.
We will indulge, splurge and spoil
the labours of our love.

One day, my darling,
One day, the rats will run
ahead of us.
We will sit, and wonder
about how we ever kept up.

One day, my darling,
One day, the world will keep spinning
without us.
We will greet our next adventure
hands held, hearts locked.

One day, my darling.
One day, our bones will be the dust
fertilising the future.
We will be as forgotten
as the druids and the bards.
Phones, shapely, laughing beauties of yore,
once patiently rested in cradles , what elegance!
waiting for the prince to come, give a kiss
break the spell, remove the curse!
Gone are the days of pampered babies,
no cradles for phones anymore,
cell phones, the petite beauties we all care for now,
are born grown up.

The baby in the cradle now
sobs demanding the slimmest of cellphones,
once able to lay hands on it
the games continue till the eyes droop .
Cradles get vacant now too soon
the petite phone rings with out
any rest day and night.
Phones of new generation, need no cradles anymore,
and the touch screen babies of present  day too leave cradles soon.
