At the bottom of every barrel
You'll find the broken and the cracked
The people who live in shadows
Those who don't know how to act

The backward and inverted
The awkward and the shy
Just people looking for answers
Just people asking why

The outcast and the lonely
The scared or the abused
A person without a friend
Or a friend who's been misused

Just people looking for people
To fill a hollow hole
The empty who hunger and thirst
Or maybe a tired soul

At the bottom of every barrel
And maybe you didn't know it
But if you're looking hard enough
You'll even find a poet
Bound in chains by cyclic affairs
Patterns of the past - my chrysalis
Has ceased, complete paralysis
From language's malicious pair-
      what if?
The edge of a cliff,
Or solidly on land
I'm unable to distinguish on which I stand
One step will disclose all
*But what if I fall?

A minute amount of madness
A smidgen of disregard
Every act a flagarant mirror
Of the surrounding Bizaar

I was concerned
When friends told me
'Love is blind'

Well, why was I
One to worry?
For what they said in church

They taught to me
'God is love'
I paid attention in math

See, if God is love
and love is blind
then God is blind

Now it makes sense
For so much to pass
Why good don't last

And to why we're flawed
It's clear as glass
For God blinds us all

Do not tick off the
kindly clock that stops and tocks
to you in whispers
Finally
A Free leaf
Fluttering
Gliding down, down
Joyously and gently
Landing upon the pyre
Willing to be ignited
Willing to smolder
Willing to radiate

Finally
A Flaming leaf
Blistering
Fervantly and bright
Blazing upon the pyre
Possessing warmth
Possessing passion
Possessing light
