getting on the road
following the m train
lunch this time naked
letting myself
drown in it all
opening the doors
the liquor and the smoke
never felt so true
never been so close
to who I am the most

Sometimes we almost understand.
In those brief moments, we stop accepting widely held beliefs.
We ask: Why? The logical coherence of our world loses its meaning.
The boundaries between the synapses forming our train of thought and the matter that limits us begin to disappear. We see it, and we choose to ignore it.
For a moment, we almost understand.
But it lasts only a quick second.
