No need for love
I have quite a few thingy clingy things to take care of.
Up until recently love was one of them.

Chasing after it
felt like a primal have to have kind of need.

That all changed suddenly
when my sanity and health were at stake.
While spring cleaning my dream box I also had to forego my
wonderful flirtations with philosophy.
Funny how life forces a new reality on us without getting us
the owners into any kind of negotiation.
Hey so and so I am about to do a hand break turn on your ***
and sorry this train has no seat belts.

Tupac Shakur
“No Malcolm X in my history text, why's that?
’Cause he tried to educate and liberate all blacks
Why is Martin Luther King in my book each week?
He told blacks, if they get smacked, turn the other cheek
I don't get it, so many questions went through my mind
I get sweated, they act like asking questions is a crime
But forget it, cause one day I'm gonna prove them wrong”

the flying machine
I chanced on a familiar sight
a minute  or two
ago.

It struck me as similar
but unfamiliar.

A sight of a flying machine
up above.

Once a sight a minute.
Now out of place
in the blue sky
above.

Who is coming .
Who is going .
For the world is apart for the first time
in a long time.
Everywhere is over the seas now.
You home is your new neighbourhood
your suburb the new city
We survive with inches
Long gone are days
filled with endless miles.

The flying machine now.
Seems airily familiar.
Similar perhaps
to my ancestors first sight
of those European ships of plunder
as they slithered slowly in
on our peaceful shores.
Abundant with all that is life.

The flying machine
landed somewhere
I didn’t not see.

I have a feeling
one of these days
something more spectacular
way beyond our comprehension.
As dramatic as
it was for us
when Jan Van Riebeek
first set his sights on us.

I have a feeling that
unlike the flying machine
what will be hovering above us
would be the sort
no living being would have seen before.

The signs are ominous
If I think the rare sight of plane is out of this world
out of this world will be upon us.
Soon than we are ready.

Our future will fly in
In a pirate ship that set sail
from a time totally unknown to us.
It’s in the light of day amongst many that our deeds invite darkness.
It’s in the lonely hour night that the invite is accepted regrets harnessed.

Shadows invisible to the eye.
Alive to I.
Threatening.
Cryptic.

As night falls,
newly gained shadows
encircle our hearts,
side creep on our sanity.
They amble,
pounding quietly,
winking persistently.
Mocking  silently.

“I know you don’t see me, but you sure know I am here,
felt that needle tingle. Hot at the tip. I am near - inch from you soul”

It’s in the light of day amongst many that our deeds invite darkness.
It’s in the lonely hour night that the invite is accepted regrets harnessed.

Shadows mentored
Nurtured.
A nocturnal vaudeville,
to shrink our souls into tiny little bubbles.
Ready to rupture at any sign of shifting shadows.

Take care of your days.
They will keep the lights on in the heat of the night.

Thank you lovely dwarfs
small dwarfs are creeping in with their pan flutes to steal my insanity
and pain
whilst i nap.
I asked for a miracle
it came
wrapped with some fantasy.
Can't wait to see how life turns out after
I awake from my nap.
Have you seen how assured and glad you are
when you clean your kitchen before you sleep.
Sleeping peacefully.
Knowing fully well
that you will find it clean and pleasing in the morning.
I have a funny feeling
it’s the same with the after life.

A poem about cleaning
Fix what you can fix
in your immediate reality
call it immediate world
if you care.

Fix what you can fix
in your immediate world.
Then
only then my friend.

You have a slim chance when at play
with the big things
that hound your days
and wound your heart.
May you live in interesting times.

Untidy times.

As the centre is ripped at the seams.
