EASY WAY OUT

Indeed easy it is, for us, to take the easy way out;

Right it is not, to take this easy route; don't you ever this doubt.

Easy it is to slip down in these times bad, specially during a crisis

Even more so, in today's world, filled with so many ugly vices.

Where many flourish, even when they evil & the devil follow

When justice doesn't prevail; & injustice with salt we have to swallow;

Slip then people down; because easy it is, to that easy way take.

Deeply saddened I am at the caustic remarks made.

Wish people, a little understanding had.

No one in his right mind, purposefully do this would.

An accident, because of camouflage it was;
But poisoned tongues some, made it a murderous cause.

Even for a moment, to see reality, some didn't pause.

Poison some people can really spew;

Luckily, understand the facts did, also a few.

Mankind, indeed strange is, twist they can things easily too.

Ahura kind, grant us wisdom to things rightly interpret

So that, in Your kingdom, we wouldn't have to fret.

TUBES    . .. Here a tube , there a  tube,  everywhere  a tube, tube  ;

Locked up in a tiny room I am, as if in a cube

One  for intake  of oxygen, one for output of peritoneal drainage

Both in and out  of my Parsi nose; what an outrage !

Yet another from the bladder, n intravenous on my hands both

Two at the feet, to  circulation  help; only these 2, I do not loathe.

Lord, You  made  our body so perfect,  oozing with health ;

When ill, we humans try to it repair,  spending enormous wealth.

Know we all, about the mighty shots of Chris Gale;

But have I introduced you all to our Lil Ms. Gale ?

Much much better than him she is, on the scale.

Some people act funny may, after a bottle of ale;

But our Ms. Gale without ale, can make players pale.

If you dare correct her, she gives out a large wail !

She is the boss; deciding who will pass or fail.

With her unique personality, leaves behind she, a long trail.

She can be as sweet as honey or chilli; our Ms Gale;

Many a times she is actually violent like a gale.

Who gets her way each time, though small n frail.

Let's say cheers three to our Lil Ms Gale; hail, Ms Gale, hale !!!

તારા દર્શન વિના મોત થયું , તો તડપશે આં બિચારી લાશ.

ખુદા જાણે કેમ, પણ આવી નહિ આં પ્રીત મને રાસ

કદાચ જીવન ભર, કદી છીપાસે નહિ આં પ્યાસ.

LITTLE THINGS

Little things some, matter very much.
To these acts, one must tightly clutch.

A smile, brightens you, and people around.
Most likely, to return it, people are bound.

A sweet little word, helps tremendously, a soul weary.
Makes a tired or a sad person, feel a bit cheery.

A whistle or a song, soothes an aching heart.
Music, of Nature, of environment, is an important part.

A thank you, with a smile, makes the giver, really good feel.
A gesture kind, for life,  stay with you can, in our memory, it we seal.

A genuine sorry, can a broken relationship, to an extent mend.
With an apology, vibes of sincere feelings you can send.

MY  ***** BUDDY, MY  GRANDDAUGHTER

She is only nine,  and yet at  66, a friend in me, she does see.

Her  "ten year old toy",  she often cuddles; this she  cutely calls me.

Does my manicure, pedicure  and at times,  even applies  mehndi,

Makes  hair styles on my grey, to make me look trendy

We draw, paint, do  craft; and in singing and other creativities, also indulge;

At times, she rides upon me, calling me an alligator with  a bulge.

For a while uno we play, often also jumble words or  scrabble.

Whilst studying Geography with the game Atlas and  a globe we dabble.

But to make her actually study,  is a difficult task  indeed !!!

At times,  becomes she, a baby and feed her I have to; literally spoon feed

Insists she,  I share her food , lucky I am, from her  chocolate to get a lick.

Willing she  is,  even to share her favourite  popsicle stick.

My cheeks she pulls , or  my  neck she plays with,  calling me, "Fuzzy " ; her  pet

Anyone would fall in love with her charming ways; about this, I can  easily  bet

Vada-Paav, in Aamchi Mumbai, or Maharashtra entire, is definitely the most popular inexpensive dish.

But according to the circumstances that prevail here at  Bombay, been it should have Bhel-puri, I do wish.

There are Maharashtrians, Gujjus, South Indians, Sikhs, Bongs etc. and us Parsis, though very miniscule  

Similarly Bhel has sev, mamra, chevda, puris, onions, potatoes, coriander, chillies, chutneys, you can add more, there is no rule

Just like the ingredients of Bhel, the population mingles, mixes, blends, whatever you can call it,  to be called Bombayites

But but but!!! wait and watch, when they board a suburban local train, just watch their many big & small fights.

To see the Bhel Puri, in this city cosmopolitan, encounter you have to the fisher folk, giving "shivya, our popular Maushi baai"

In our Bhel-Puri population, there are Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Jews, Parsis; but in Bombay they are lovingly addressed, Bhau n Taai.

काला साया

एक काला साया प्रवेश कर गया, उसके हसते खेलते घरमे ।

पता नहीं चला किसीको तब, क्यों की था वो एक दुल्हन के बेस् में

उस बेटे के लिए तो यह कहावत सच निकली; "शादी या बरबादी"

बस कुछ दिनों में ही छीन गई उस हसते खेलते घरकी आबादी ।

दूल्हे को पूरे वश में कर लिया; फिर आयी देवरों  की बारी ।

ननंद और सास को पहले अलग कर दिया पती से;
बारी बारी;

फिर देवरों पे लगाया निशान; कोशिश रही लगातार जारी ।

कुछ सालोमें, पती को बना दिया गुलाम; हार बिचारे ने मानी

सब हार गए, बिल्कुल अकेला बिचारा हो गया, नगरी थी अनजानी

दूर कहीं जा के खो गया;  मां ने प्राण त्यागे, बहन राखी न बांध पाई ।

काले साये ने उनकी हसी खुशी सब छीन ली; संग उसके वो कालिख लाई ।

दुल्हन के रुप में, खुशी खुशी आया; और फिर, सिर्फ दर्द लाया ।

दुआ कीजिए, कभी कोई घर में आए न ऐसा काला साया ।

કુટુંબ, કોમ મળી હળી ને રહે, તો થાય કોમ ની પ્રગતિ.

ઝગડાઓ, મત ભેદો થી આવી રહી છે આપ્રી અવગતિ.

ચાલો નવરોઝ પર લઈએ એક પ્રણ; મતભેદ બાજુ રાખી થૈયે એક.

કોમ ની ભલાઈમાં જ છે, આપણી ભલાઈ; અનેક માં થી બનીએ એક.

તમને બધાંને આં નવરોઝ ઘણો ઘણો મુબારક.

કોમની, આપણી, બધાની થાય વૃદ્ધિ, વધે રોજી રજક.

Wrapped in the Tri colour, in a coffin they come.

Even come do not, the physical bodies of some.

Their widows, for their children n parents sake stays mum.

But the pain one can see in their eyes, with tears some.

Have words I do not to laud your supreme sacrifice.

Fight you bravely in burning sands, or Siyachin's freezing ice.

For your valour, n bravery, your family pays a heavy price.

Sadly, callously take your sacrifice for granted some.

It's Valentines day once again.

She woke up with memories warm. As a kid, when they didn't know anything about Valentine's Day, her mother said, it was after a saint, who preached love.
She loved to be loved; so she asked her mother, can I be your Valentine ? Her Mom said, most certainly, I love you, with all my heart. After a while, her best friend came along to play with her. She asked him, " can I be your Valentine? He looked a little confused, but when she explained, he said we will be Valentines forever and ever. This thrilled her. They promised eachother to be Valentines for life.
Every year, Falgun would bring something on this special day for her. She would make something special, with her art material and gift him too. This went on through school and college. Everyone knew they were Valentines.
After graduation, Falgun, left Alka behind and proceeded to USA for further studies. They wrote and called regularly, but as often happens, Falgun kept saying he was busy and those much awaited phone calls, became scarce; though, he would always call her on this special day and her birthday.
He called her once, and said he was marrying a foreigner, to obtain citizenship but she would always be his Valentine, his first love. This was disastrous. She went into depression and became an introvert. On next Valentine's Day when he called, Alka's mother picked up the phone and gave him a piece of her mind. She said, he had ruined her daughter's life. He said,  "just once, let me speak to her." He told Alka, it was a contract marriage and he would always love her. But Alka was firm, she said, " we must part". And so they did. Yet he would always call her on her Birthday and on Valentine's.
Today, she hoped to get his call. It was almost evening, and he would be calling anytime. Her heart yearned to hear his voice. After all, he was her first and only love. she would wait for months for these two days.
This evening, she was getting impatient, watching the phone and the clock. She held a book but could hardly concentrate. Just then, the door bell rang. She went to answer it, wondering who it could be. When she opened it she saw a huge bouquet of flowers, but couldn't see the face holding it. She hoped, he had sent her these flowers. Out popped a head; and she screamed with joy. Oh no, this can't be true !!! I am imagining things... Am I hallucinating ?

No she wasn't. It was indeed Falgun. They embraced and kissed each other, danced with joy, like little children. After a while, he said, " hello my darling Valentine, are you fine ?".
He then reached his pocket, removed two rings and proposed. Without a second thought, she accepted.  It was a solitaire and and eternity band. He said, I was waiting for this day to surprise her. I have decided to now settle down here, with you, in our own country. Will you be my Bride.
In disbelief, she stood dumbfounded. As he looked deeply into her eyes, she nodded and the rings now shone on her beautiful slender fingers. All she could say was, my childhood has returned.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY, TO ALL THE LOVERS IN THIS WORLD. KEEP LOVING.

THE CHANGING WAYS OF THIS WORLD

Shattered I am, with the ways of this selfish world

When an ill or needy, desperately support needs, they sit cushy n curled

All the person probably needs, is a little moral or emotional support ;

Time people have to wine n dine, or watch a movie or some sport;

But to inquire about the bereaved relative or friend's wellness there's no time.

Scared they are, just incase they may have to part with a few dimes.

Busy very is the schedule, a formal visit or call is all, they make, n that's the end.

Some people own them some money, even that is hushed up, never to be given or send

Why has the world so much n so drastically n disgustingly changed ???

Or Lord, in years fifty, a totally different breed have you arranged???

Oh enormous was the cost.
One glance, and my heart I lost.
A business that I did, at a loss big;
Because about me, cared he two figs .

Love entered softly, quietly, without any sound.
But in the sorrow of separation, I deeply  drowned.
My life after that was A constant  struggle; a real strife.
I  couldn't  be anyone else's thereafter; neither a loving wife.

My heart refused to listen to any logic or my head .
A living skeleton I was; living, yet dead.

LOVE  TRUE

Difficult it is to say which is love true; incomplete or a union  complete

Calmness, peace, romance are in a story, where lovers unite after they first meet.

Are endings really happy, after lovers choose their partner from a fleet?

Epics show true lovers are separated or have to, for some reason, retreat.

Sitaji joined Ram leaving behind luxuries; but why did Ram, her forsake n ill treat ?

Neither could  Radha unite with  Kanha; he went away for ever, (to Kans defeat).

Poor Meera, a princess turned a vagabond,  in hope, to her Giridhar meet.

Umpteen examples Laila-Majnu, Heer-Ranjha, Shiri-Farhad couldn't unite or meet.

Can a sage wise enlighten me, which is LOVE true; an incomplete one or a union complete

RELATIONSHIPS

About it, when say people, it is bad;
Then I really do feel very low and sad;
But immediately think I, of my Mom and Dad.

Ask some people, " why do you think with your heart"
Say I, because relationships, in my life, are an important part.
Say they," but in this commercial world, that's not a way smart".

Relationships together keep you; they are like deep roots.
But unfortunately in today's world, about it, people care two hoots.
People behave, as if everyone is just out, to things loot.

Taught us Mom n Dad, " to respect n love, be it your family or friend.
It is this love and respect that will stay with you, till the very end".
So I believe in relationships; and for everyone a message send;
FORGIVE ME, IF YOU, I  EVER DID OFFEND.

MY WAR HERO

A man of courage and wit, forthright, fearless, indeed very brave

Tackle n handle easily he could, situations important n very grave.

His subordinates many, adored him; because, to pressure he did not cave

This Hero, towards the road to victory against Pakistan, India did pave

A soldier to the core, to fight Her enemies, he was always at the fore

Noble towards the defeated, he treated them well, goes the folks lore.

Undaunted he stood upright even when people in possession, tried to settle a score

Their shameful behavior he tolerated; for he was a soldier to the core.

When APJ visited him at the hospital, and helped solve the salary difference or dispute

Sam regretted, he couldn't, the President of India salute

Charmed he many, including APJ, with his  behavior peculiar n  astute

Sam, may Ahura bless you and keep you in His loving arms, is my prayer mute.

Crushed n mutilated were values good that day.

The satan overpowering good, actually won that day.

ભાઇ-બહેનો સાથે, કઝીનો સાથે, પતંગ, માજા-ફીરકી, કિનના માટેનો કિધેલો વાદવિવાદ

અને પછી બધું ભૂલીને, હસી-બોલીને કબુલ કરવી, સ્વીકારવી એકબીજાની ભૂલ

પછી ઊંધિયું, જલેબી, પોંક, અને એના વડાં, મરીલીંબુની સેવ,  ખાણીપીણી માં થઈ જવું મશગુલ

માના તલના લડવા સાથે, આવે છે એ રંગ બે રંગી પતંગો સાથેનો તહેવાર, એ ઉજવણી યાદ

ભૂલી રહ્યા છીએ આપણે એ બૂમાબૂમ, શોરગુલ, એ "કાયપો કાયપો" નો સાદ

આજકાલ હવે એ નિર્દોષ મસ્તી તોફાને સાધ્યું છે મૌન; મોબાઇલે એ મૌજ છીનવી લીધી છે

સાનિધ્ય માં રહીએ કુટુંબ સાથે, ઈચ્છું છું એ દિવસો આવે પાછા, સુરતી ખમણ અને લોચો લાવવા કીધું છે કે ???

"Age is what you think you are", they say; and to an extent, with them I even agree;

But in reality, age spares hardly anyone; falls off one day every leaf, from the tree.

Mother Nature, on birth gives us things aplenty n valuable, and that too, almost free

Then it's responsibility ours, to them maintain;   guess I, moderation n balance is the key.

Acceptance comes alongside; in spite of the wrinkles many, try I, to keep alive, that little child, in me.

WHY THIS ?

Can someone please tell me, why is there so much strife ?

Why so very complicated and strange is this life ?

Estranged are relationships with bosses, friends, foes, sibblings or a wife.

Perhaps by using language that is rough, as sharp as a sword or knife.

Perhaps people are self-centred, angry or arrogant.

Some  egoistic very are, pride makes them arrogant.

Complications increase as misunderstandings take shape giant.

Filled with vices these; how can life ever become fragrant ?

Help me to solve this puzzle please.

ADDICTIONS

Addictions there are of various types some big, some small.

Addictions mostly lead us to self-destruction; bringing about a fall.

Drinking alcohol, smoking, drugs, ***, stealing, addictions we can call.

But discuss some harmless ones we will today.

One sided love, in spite of knowing the hopelessness  is also an addiction, in a way.

Helping, in spite of knowing one is bad; instead of keeping him at bay.

Getting cheated knowingly, is the biggest addiction; though sad !

Forgiving rascals n proudly becoming an idiot, is also very bad.

Giving alms to undeserving;   inculcating begging is the worst fad.

Decide we must after checking angles all, if it's bad or good .

What effects or results our irresponsible actions bring would.

Our addictions shouldn't leave us to repent and brood.

YOUR WORLD

Brilliant white woolly clouds, shimmering in the Sun

Layers of them, stretching miles long, plying in Heaven.

Pearly white, some silver, and many shades of greys

From azure blue to shimmering gold with the Sun's rays

Fairies, as if in Heaven, are gracefully  afloat.

That's why, from the aircraft, a letter to You, I wrote;

To tell, the horizon, a full semicircle, see I, so clear.

Your world truly beautiful is, O Ahura, our Father dear !!!

Huge n grand it was, under those beautiful heavenly open  skies

On the banks of river Tapi, in  Mughlisera, Surat it now dilapidated lies ;

Known better it is as "Angrj ni kothi"; the East India factory; were its old ties!!

A  compound huge, with a garden; estimate you just can't,  its price !!!

How I wish,  it was actually mine, loved I every bit of it; specially its location n size.

Always admire I would,  those marvellous Sunsets n watch enamored the magical  moon rise.

Listen I often did,  to beautiful lilting songs of yore; on a stereo of high quality n price

Enjoyed I the breeze cool, blowing over the river,  as  I ate food, specially my Mom's Biryani rice.

And  most  of all, I enjoyed the glow on my Mom's face, whenever with my visit, I her surprised!!!

Oh wonderful were those days I spent with my beloveds, no one can ever quote their price

Miss I its beauty  n grandeur,  lures me that balcony even today; hope like Phoenix it will again arise.

May this dream come true,  may that happiness from nowhere again arise.

ફરી એક વાર, વ્યાજના દર ઘટયા

ચીજોના ભાવ સતત વધ્યા;

વડીલો, રાખજો ભીખનો કટોરો તૈયાર,

જઈશું એ લઇ નમૂના ઘરે સહિયાર.

આવ્યો છે સમય કઢંગો આજ

ખતરામાં છે બુઝરુગોની લાજ.

છોકરાંઓ સામે, ફેલાવી શું નહિ હાથ;

એવું કહેનારાઓ ને, આજે વકતે આપ્યો નહિ સાથ.

રાજકર્તાઓ એ પાછો આપ્યો દગો;

કુદરતે છોડ્યો સંગાથ, કોઈ નહિ બુઝરોગ, તારો સગો

હવે આં ઉંમરે તમને ન મળે કોઈ નોકરી

ઉઠાવાય નહિ આં ઉંમરે બોજ, ન ટોકરી.

ત્યાગ કરી તેં પાઈ પાઈ બચાવી;

તો પણ, વર્ષોની મેહનત કામ ન આવી.

ફરી એક વાર ફસ્યો તું મોંઘવારીના વમળમાં

In kite-strings do not get entangled or caught.

Life is very precious; please do take good care.

Birds like humans; victims, easily become.
Throats get slit; that's why, It's imperative, to take care some.

Enjoy we must, and traditions follow too;
If care taken is, whilst doing so, we won't have to rue.

WE TOO SHALL WITHER

Like all living beings, (just like flowers),we too shall someday wither away

As buds, on our stems we bloom carefreely; happily on the stem, we sway

As youth us envelopes, colourful n perfumed become we, but that too is not, for many a day

When bloom we fully, n are, at our best; worried we are not, about happen what next may !

But remember this we must all, NO ONE LASTS FOR EVER; we all have to turn back to the clay.

In the meantime, a few deeds good, let's try to accomplish; afterall that's what will, us pay

Remember, we too shall wither away someday; we are not here to permanently stay.

FOR ZUNU N FREYU..............

                     KOO-CHI-KOO
Koo-chi-koo, o' o' koo-chi-koo
my darling Zunu has lost her shoe
“ o' my!  did I forget it in the loo ?
Now I don't know what to do !
If I walk with feet bare, I’ll suffer from flu”.

In came Freyu; in his magic Nano he flew;
on a hook big, he stuck some glue
and efficiently dropped the lost shoe !
At this, laughed aloud Na-nu-ni-nu.
Together all they said, “koo-chi-koo”.
