THOSE WERE THE DAYS !!!

Oh, those were the days, when I endlessly laughed n giggled;

Into my Mom n Dad's loving arms, I often cushily snuggled.

With brothers, I played, fought n laughed out loud

Was all this really here or was it on some heavenly cloud??

Danced all night on New year's Eve we, without getting tired

Also with our mischief n noise sometimes our neighbours we ired.

After working all night, to visit my people, I remember catching a train.

And in the same way, going for picnics, myself I couldn't refrain.

After my holiday, keeping awake all night, I took a flight to work

Because both very important were and neither, I could shirk.

It was wonderful not to feel tired with energy bubbling n endless

Sadly, drained out has that energy; now there are aches, pains n tiredness.

WHERE HAVE GONE THOSE DAYS ?????

Salutes aplenty from me, to these souls, brave, daring and bold.

Know I, have these Fauji- families, minds of steel but hearts of pure gold;

Sadly, very shamefully, some politicians have, to an extent, this Nation sold.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

Oh just eighteen she was, when her heart had, on seeing him for the first time, a beat skipped !

Right from that moment, away from her physical self, it had for ever slipped

This Valentine's she was sure glad she would meet her childhood sweetheart;

After years so many; of their college reunion they would both once again be a part

Would he recognise her, when their eyes would meet; for his world must have drastically changed

Half a century had passed ! He must have been busy with his own family, she thought; have I deranged!

Because after they parted, her world to a standstill had come; she still dwelled in the past

That past which had closed all the gates forever, after met they had n kissed goodbye last

Her heart behaved rather erratically now; she was wondering when exactly did it return, when did it come back?

Peeping into the mirror, shocked she was to see herself! This couldn't be her ! She quickly realised, time does not freeze

She wanted to look good, not just good but her best; or he would once again, get a chance to her tease

At last came Valentine's day, her eyes constantly for him searched; then, once again, her heart skipped a beat!

That twinkle in his eyes, that same smile; she immediately knew, it was down right her defeat !

He held out a beautiful half opened rose n asked, "will you please be my Valentine, not just for today, always n forever"

Graciously she accepted n both of them simultaneously said, "it's been fifty years; but true relationships don't sever"

They soon married were; a radiant glow on her face revealed their love n happiness. Everyone said, it was the best reunion

He added, " it's not just a reunion ! after fifty long years, isn't this an ecstatic lovely fusion? "

After useless we become, for others, why do we still have to hang on?

Seemingly over is the reason we were here; from the day we were born.

Explain can You O kind Lord please, why are we left lonely and lorn ?

A burden one becomes to children or to kith and kin; when we are all worn (out)

Tell me O Kind  Lord  why are we still here; why do we have to hang on?

Challenge You I do not, but feel sad I do; to patients see in coma for years,

People who were so very useful and in command; now drag on;

Heart breaking it is to see people you adore,  in a sad condition, living on.

Help us all, to our problems understand and conditions bad, please improve.

Men decent, never ill treat a woman, be she young or old, feeble or strong; they will never let her screech.

A **** is the worst crime against a woman, something unpardonable, a sin extremely grave

Severely, with an iron hand punished should be those men, who, for these inhuman ways crave

Lord, O my kind Lord,  protect every single woman; be she a child or an adult, against a ****

Their eyes watch keenly every morning, when  they, wish you n  greet

Reveal the truth their eyes will, if, with respect true, you they treat.

बड़ा दर्दनाक है समा, और दर्दनाक उसका असर;

मेरी खुशी पे, मेरी हसी पे लग गई है किसी की बुरी नजर ।

या तो इस बेकदर, व्यापारी दुनियाकी, बदल रही है, नियत

अब यहाँ हर चीज़ है बिकाऊ; वक़्त तो बड़ी तगड़ी किमतमे बिकता है, मानो हो कोई महँगी कैफियत

काश वो थोड़ी फिकर करते मेरी, तो यह असहय दर्द कुछ तो हल्का हो जाता;

एक मिनिट मेरे लिए भी वो लोक निकालते, काश एक फोन मुझे भी आ जाता !

ऐ मालिक, तू तो है दयालु, कृपानिधान;काश तेरा यह गुण, हम इंसानों में आ जाता !

इस कठोर दुनियां में, अचनाकसे थोड़ी कोमलता, कहीं से आ जाती

साथ उसके मेरे लिए, मेरे भाई का, घड़ी भर का वक्त भी ले आती ।

तो एकबार फिर बचपन आ जाता, खिल खिलाकर जल उठते, यह दिया और बाती ;

भाई मेरे, भले मुझे करे न करे याद,
मैं तो, भेज रही हूं उन्हें मेरा प्यार और आशीर्वाद।

PROTECT OUR SELF-RESPECT

The elderly, certainly a decent amount of money need;

to themselves, properly medicate, clothe n feed.

By all means, a right they have, to a comfortable life lead.

They shouldn't be paying income tax again indeed.

The GOI to this important matter should heed n concede.

They should, these old laws urgently demolish and ****.

Already slogged n paid their tax, the elderly have indeed;

Why then should they be burdened; to change, I request plead.

With self-respect, don't they have a right, to a good life lead ?

It's Earth Day.... A few lines straight from my heart....

ABOUT OUR EARTH; DO WE BOTHER???

Our Earth is burning, scorching, but who is  bothered; why bother; do we really care???

We discuss, argue, hold summits; but then mostly things are forgotten; do we really care???

Forests are cleared, trees chopped off in urban areas for construction of buildings; do we really care???

Polution increases, rain decreases, water shortage is acute; but there's hardly any action; do we really bother???

Sea levels are increasing, glaciers melting and decreasing; but how does it concern us; do we really bother???

Our grandchildren may have to carry portable oxygen; but that's really not our concern; about this, do we really bother???

BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE, LET'S PLANT ATLEAST ONE TREE OR A FEW POTTED PLANTS.

LOVE NEVER DIES

Ah ! so very young she was, just in inter science, when fell in love she did

But scared she was to this admit, trying to suppress, she, it very cleverly hid

But her Mom read her expressive eyes n requested her to her feelings share

Confiding in her Mom,  she admitted, "yes, him I love & for him, really care"

With her Ma's guidance, she his attention won; love blossomed n did bloom

Soon married they were, joy there was aplenty in families both; for anything else, there was no room

soon after, arrived a cute plump baby boy, who was for everyone a wonderful, cuddly toy.

Life was one big great celebration, there was plenty of love, prosperity and joy.

Good things end so did their luck; when pregnant with her baby 2nd; in an accident her love died

Shattered she was, changed had drastically, in a moment, her life; now a widow from a bride.

Sorrow surrounded her, both sets of parents now shifted to live with her, to help her survive

Worried they were about her n her babe; eagerly everyone was awaiting for the baby to arrive

When saw they the new born son, everyone impulsively knew, it was him, who was born again

As they put him on her lap, she immediately said," love never dies, you had to come back again"

"NOW MY VALENTINE IS REBORN AS MY SON".
TRUE, EVERYONE ALMOST SIMULTANEOUSLY SAID, "LOVE NEVER DIES "

એમના પ્રીતમનો જેમાં સદા માટે છે નિવાસ.

ઐ વાદળાંઓ આજે મારા ચાંદને, ઢાંકશો નહિ.
વિરહન ની વેદનાને, આમ આજે વધારશો નહિ.
આજે આસમાન રહેજો સ્વરછ અને સાફ .

SELF-RESPECT

Between personal gains n self-respect, undoubtedly I choose, my self-respect

In preference to egoistic, famous, rich humans, I prefer an ordinary cultured sect

Yet many people choose the rich, who are rude, arrogant; n others ill-treat;

Instead of their treatment shabby, befriend I will a person kind

To show-off, may be these rich ones, at you, flaunt may their wealth; many such you will find;

But prefer I those folks ordinary n simple, who with all their heart, will us befriend.

What ever be those factors luring, I seek my self-respect, from beginning to end.

CORRECT ME NOT

If people us often correct, even for our own betterment, we like it not

Like it we not, because it addresses our pride and ego; or it touches  a soft spot

In annoyance, due to this stubbornness or ego, we are in a web caught

Instead, take this if we, as a well intended, genuine correction, as a  lesson taught;

Help us it will to forge ahead; so pamper your ego n pride, please do not

Both aspects, well considered should be, so let our ego keep correcting others not

Dump let us our ire, ego, jealousy, suspicious behaviour into a big ***;

Seal it for ever and ever, bury it deep in the soil; to again open it  not.

QUIT INDIA

In 1942, on this very day, told we the Brits to quit our Mother land.

Oh ! commitment great there was, all around, did this we, hand in hand.

It is August once again, when a big change has recently come.

Hope n pray for our dear India, bring it will positive change some.

May that unity of 1942 once again in our mind and hearts spring.

May the words Vande Mataram in our entire being ring.

So together, along with me, say let us all, " Vande Mataram"

"Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Isayi, Parsi, sub ek hei hum"

એક બેન ની વ્યથા......

જેને બેન ને, અંતર ના ઉંડાણ થી ચાહી હતી; શું તું મારો એજ ભાઈ છે?

જે મારી રાખડી પ્રેમ થી બંધાવતો હતો  વર્ષો વર્ષ; શું તું મારો એજ ભાઈ છે?

જેને સદા મારો પડિયો બોલ ઉપાડીયો હતો; શું તું મારો એજ ભાઈ છે?

આપણો પ્રેમ જોઈ ખુશીથી છલકાતું હૈયું માત પિતાનું; શું તું મારો એજ ભાઈ છે?

સુખમાં, દુખમાં તને સૌથી પહેલી યાદ આવતી જે બહેન; શું તું મારો   એજ ભાઈ છે?

લાખોમાં એક એવી ભાઈ બહેન ની જોડી જે હતી; શું તું મારો એજ ભાઈ છે?

કોઇને ન કહેવી હોય એ વાતો ખાલી મને જ જે કહેતો; શું તું મારો એજ ભાઈ છે?

બધાં કહેતાં, કે ભાભી આવવાથી તું બદલાઈ જઈશ; ત્યારે હું એ માનતી ન હતી; શું તું મારો એજ ભાઈ છે?

સમય સાચેજ છે બળવાન; અથવા જેના ઉપર આંધળો વિશ્વાસ હતો, એ ગયો બદલાઇ; શું તું મારો એજ ભાઈ છે?

પિતાના અવસાન પર, જેને  પિતા તુલ્ય માન્યો હતો, એને   દિલાસો પણ ન આપિયો; શું તું મારો એજ ભાઈ છે?

કોઇક દિવસ, નિરાંતે, દિલ ને તારા તટોલજે, અને કહેજે મને કે શું તું મારો એજ ભાઈ છે?

बड़ी लम्बी और तन्हा लगती है यह रात;

जब जब पिया मोरे, नहीं होते हैं मेरे साथ ।

बहार गई, मुरझाए फूल, अब तो अाई बरसात

सावन आया, झूले पड़े, पर पिया नहीं मेरे साथ

बिरहन को तड़पाना;  पिया, यह क्या हुई बात !

चाहूं मै जीवन भर सुनूं, तोरी मुरलिया, रहूं तेरे साथ
पिया यु न तड़पाओ, यू न तरसाओ; छोड़ो न साथ

चांद को चांदनी पुकारे, राधा कहे कान्हा पकड़ लो मेरा हाथ

छोड़ो न यू अकेली, बड़ी लम्बी है बिरहा की यह रात ।
