With worries, fills my head.
On my tender heart, every day he treads.

Starts picking up faults, big n small
He says, I am filled with them all.
Continuous bickering, sarcasm I get them all.

Dreamt I, of love n laughter; fun n frolic
But get I,  an emotional  mental Colic.
To bear the brunt, his frustration, I am a living relic

Tiny, cute, petite,  a fair beauty with  curly hair she was;


Simple, unassuming,  self-sacrificing,  a "karma Yogi" she was. 


Honest, dedicated, loving and caring,  she was. 


A sincere teacher,  extremely knowledgeable she was. 


Almost a mother to her  Grandma,  Mum, niece n nephew she was;


Later on my  darling mother, friend, philosopher n guide she was. 


If every mother is  sweet; to me, sheer nectar she was.


An epitome of love,  A "DEVI", AN ANGEL, she was.

GIVE SENSIBLY

Generous n benevolent if you are, it's simply great.

But spoil do not a poor man's future at any rate.

Alms please do not randomly to beggars give;

Of their future n that of our society, do try to conceive.

Lazy, people become when grants and alms are given.

Promote them instead to business small do, n their bread earn.

Educate them in technical proffesions to carry on work.

Proffesions
like carpentry, farming, plumbing many shirk.

Understand n  teach we must dignity of labour n hard work

Giving alms indiscriminately, them towards begging lures.

Give sensibly, to the poor. Think of various choices

Inculcate business-sense of small scale into them.

Sell they can initially balloons, flowers, combs, little things.

Slowly this selling will bring in profit, and give them wings.

It's entirely upto you now; what you wish, sow you will that seed.

Grow thereafter will roses, or thorny shrubs n weeds.

Lazy  beggars destroy society; please do think before you give.

To buy them pins, or combs or little useful things, a plan I have conceived.

It's in hands yours, what to do; lies this responsibility on your shoulders.

Bridges and walls for their construction, both need boulders.

Time plenty, people have; to scream n create a din.

Traffic unruly and often chaotic is,
Parking is a nightmare, that doesn't cease.

The buildings here, grand and stately were.
Today dilapidated and in a pathetic condition are;

"London bridge is falling down", goes an old old song.
But here they actually fall. There is something very wrong.

From superiority complex, suffer the Bongs;
Because, above all they are, in music n songs.

In speaking, often very loud they are;
You actually can hear them from far.

Educated, well- read , in literature;
proud they are of their rich Bengali culture.

English, many know; but their accent, "Baba re baba" !
"O" soft, is used, loudly as"Au", tauba-tauba !

A **** carries a lil Bengal, goes wherever he;
This abroad, very easily and often you see.

SELF ANNIHILATION

Yesterday, or a few  years  ago, vast skies and fields we could see;

Today there are concrete jungles, live where we , paying a heavy fee.

Just a glimpse of the sky we long for, clouds we can hardly see.

Grass there is little; even reclaimed we have the seas.

Flowers beautiful there were plenty,  with wasps and  bees;

Mountains n hills are inundated, bereft of greenery, no trees

But now cemented pavements,  lampposts,  advertisements we see

Polluted  air with less oxygen we breathe; gone is our energy n glee

Less of Sunshine, more of depression all around us we these  days see

That beautiful romantic Moon, that magical moonlight and me;

Were friends close, with stars twinkling as far as I could see !!!

Self annihilation,  depression, illnesses all around have we.

O humans, is this what  modernisation, advancement call we ?

પીળા પાંદડાની પીડા

શાખ કહે....

"પાંદડું લીલું ને રંગ રાતો", તું તો કંઈક એવું ગાતું હતું, શાખે કટાક્ષ કરતાં કહ્યું;

પણ તને તો માનો પીળ્યો ન થયો હોય, તેમ તું તો, આજે થર થર કાંપી રહ્યું છે

તેંતો નાની ઉંમરમાંજ વર્ષા, ઠંડી, ગરમીની ઋતુ અધિક માત્રામાં સહી છે".

પાનદડું કહે......

"હા, હતો મને પોતાના ઉપર અને તારી ઉપર ભરોસો, તું ઠીક કહી રહી છે"

"પણ સમજમાં આવી છે મને આં વાત, નદીનાં નીરની જેમ આયુષ્ય વહયું જાય છે"

હવે તારાથી બહુ દૂર મને હવા લઈ જશે ઉડાડીને, વાયરો આજે જોરમાં વાય છે;

જીવનમાં વસંત ટૂંકી અને પતઝડ લાંબી હોય છે; અને ખરી પડવાનું પણ નાક્કીજ હોય છે."

મુરઝાયલો છોડ

અરેરે, તું પણ મારી માફક મુરઝાઈ ગયો, અધ મુવો થઈ ગયો છે !

પાણી સિચ્યું, માટી ખણી, ખાતર પણ આપ્યું તને, તો પણ ક-વેળાએ મુરઝાઈ ગયો

તારાં પીળા, ખરતાં સૂકા પાન, જેવું જ છે, હવે ઝૂમાયલું મારુ પણ મન

તારી ઝૂકેલી ડાળીઓ જેમ જ છે ઝૂકેલું, મારું મન, દિલ, અને તન

નીરસ જીવન, હજી કેટલું જીવવું પડશે એની સતત ચિંતા સતાવે છે

બેસહાય રીતે, બીજાને આધીન જીવવું પડશે, સ્વીકારી લેવું મુશ્કિલ છે

સ્વાધીનતા આપોઆપ ખોવાઈ ગઈ; અચાનક જાણે ક્યાંક વહી ગઈ

આવી તે કેવી વિવશતા, આં તે કેવું અંધકારમય દિશાહીન ભાવિ

મારા મૃદુ, સંવેદનશીલ સ્વભાવ પાર મારુ ભવિષ્ય થઈ રહ્યું છે હાવી.

ઉખાડી તને પણ કદાચ પાછો રોપીયો હશે કોઈકે, એટલેજ બગાડ્યું તારું ભાવિ.

આપણા બંનેની દશા એક સરખી જ છે, પારકી જમીન આપણા નસીબે આવી.

Due to water scarcity, women go through trouble plenty; help them we could;

By planting trees, by rain harvest, achieve a lot we could

By canal n artificial lake constructions  possible become, this would.

In our own small way, switch off our gadgets,  lights immediately we should

Repair leaking taps n close all taps promptly after use, we should.

Reusing discarded water from ACs, ROs, washing machines save water could.

Seawater in coastal areas, for flushing toilets, be used easily could

If individual every, diligently does this, plenty of resources save we would.

ઘડપણ

ઘડપણ સિખવે છે માનવને, ઘણું બધું, જે સિખવતિ નથી એને જવાની;

કારણ, જવાની તો હોય છે તોફાની, મસ્તાની અને સાચું કહું તો, થોડી  દિવાનિ

આં ઘડપણની પીડા, કમજોરી, બેબસિ, તે અને  મે, ઘરડી  થઈને જ જાણી .

ઘડપણમાં, નાતવાન હાલતમાં લાગે છે આધિનતાનો, એક ભયાનક આભાસ

બે-ચાર ડગલાં ભરીએ, ત્યાં તો વધી જાય છે હૃદયના ધપકારા, ચઢી જાય છે શ્વાશ

કમજોર તન, કમજોર મનની સાથે ડગમગી જાય છે ઘણું બધું, ખાસ કરી, આત્મવિશ્વાસ.

ક્ષિન થઈ જાય છે જીવન ડોરી, માનવ થઈ જાય છે નિર્બળ, છોડી દે છે આશાની ડોર

આં ઘડપણ વીતે શાંતિથી , પ્રેમથી, રહે સ્વાસ્થ્ય બરકરાર, ઘટી જાય નહિ બધુ તન મન નું જોર

છોકરાઓ આપે પ્રેમ અને આદર, રાખે કાળજી, બસ નાચતો રહે મન-મોર.

એક લાશ

જીવન આખું છે એક કઠિન, સૌથી મુશ્કિલમાં મુશ્કિલ અભ્યાસ.

ખાસ કરીને, જીવન જીવવાની જ્યારે ન રહે કોઈ પ્યાસ;

ન રહે જ્યારે જીવનમાં કોઈ હેતુ, ઉમંગ કે કોઈ આશ;

ત્યારે જીવન બનીને રહી જાય છે, મહજ નદીમાં વહેતી એક લાશ.

નદીના વહેણ સાથે, બસ નીરસ રીતે વહેતી, એક જીવતી જાગતી લાશ.

છોડી જાય જ્યારે પોતાના, અથવા થઈ જાય એ પારકાં, ત્યારે ડગમગી જાય છે વિશ્વાસ

પહોંચે છે નાજુક દિલ ને ઠેસ, અને રૂંધાવા લાગે છે હર એક શ્વાસ.

સ્વજન ગુમાવીયાનો હોય છે એક ભયાનક આઘાત, એ સ્વીકાર કરવાનું હોતું નથી સહાસ;

ત્યારે બીજાં સ્નેહી- સંબંધીઓએ, આગળ આવી, ધ્યાન રાખવું જોઇએ ખાસ.

કદાચ આપણી અનુકંપાથી, સ્નેહથી, આપણા સાથથી, બચી જાય પેલી જીવતી લાશ.

જેમ જેમ થઈએ આપણે વૃદ્ધ, તેમ થાય આપણી વૃદ્ધિ.

દાદા દાદી, નાના નાની બનીએ એજ સાચી સમૃદ્ધિ.

સાચું સુખ એટલે, આં નાનાં ભૂલકાંઓ સાથે વિતાવે લો સમય અનમોલ.

પતઝડ માં ખડિયૂ રે પાન

વસંતએ પિરસિયા હતાં જેને જિવદાયક ખાનપાન

વર્ષા એ પ્રેમથી, અનેક વાર એને કરાવિયું હતું સ્નાન

ડાળીથી થઈ અલગ , પતઝડ માં ખડિયૂ રે, એ પાન

થોડા જ દિવસ પહેલા, સુંદર અને ચમકીલો હતો એનો વાણ

એના રૂપનું પણ હતું એને, થોડુ થોડુ ગુમાન, અભિમાન

MILES TO GO

Many, many more miles to go, trudge on dearie,  sometimes with tears, n sometimes with smiles.

Come in life ours will, many more difficulties,  tests, tribulations and trials

Rocks first, then hillocks perhaps, many hills n dales too. Oh, it's gonna be miles!

Face we will have to, hills n mountains too,  before our ravaans/souls, absolutely purified get

Many a deed, from our "Karma," bank-balance  fulfil we will have to, before we are all set.

Reincarnate to lessons learn many more, each time in a way different; it's not an easy bet!

Ahura  n our angels help n guide us will; n know I for sure, succeed one day, we definitely will

Prepare us O Daadaar Ahura Mazda; for cross we'll have to miles; it's gonna be a tough drill.

"Anar" pleads, help and guide us O Parverdegar, to successfully go through this grill

Even after I am gone,  may many people,  my work carefully read.

On understanding it, may parents n grandparents better kids breed.

With everyone growing trees n plants, the environment will be fresh indeed !

With my constant prodding, with this green, may pure air people breathe.

May peace and prosperity prevail n no one under terror  does seethe.

Wish I, every child loves and diligently practises our religion n increases our creed.

Parsipanu n the great values of our ancestors flourish abundantly may.

Write I, with all my heart, and with conviction full, I pray;

"Hope Every Parsi Puthra believes (n works too) that PARSIS ARE HERE TO STAY".

શું પ્યાર એક મુસીબત છે???

ક્યારેક તો લાગે છે કે બધી મુસીબતો નું એકમાત્ર જડ છે, પ્યાર

બહુ બધાં દુઃખોનું કારણ છે આં જ પ્યાર, એવો કરું છું આજે એકરાર

પ્યાર થતાંજ માનવ થઈ જાય છે બેબકલું, સાચેજ બેકરાર

બિચારાને  પતઝડની ઋતુમાં પણ, દેખાય છે બહાર

પ્યાર કારવવાળાઓની, દિલ આપી દેવવાળાઓની નિશ્ચિત જ છે હાર

ક્ષણભરમાં પ્યાર તો કરી બેસે છે, પણ પછી એમનાથી ઝેલાતો નથી એનો ભાર

બરબાદ કરી દે છે જીવન આખું, નષ્ટ-નાબૂદ કરી દે છે જીવન, આં પ્યાર

માટે પૂછું છું બધાં પ્રેમીઓને, શું પ્યાર એક મુસીબત છે, પોતાનીજ હાર???

HAPPY BIRTHDAY  SHASHNU

When I was a teenager, just a young girl;

Into my hands one  day, a cute little bundle did curl.

Into our lives this baby came; as if a splendid whirl;

Attracting us tremendously; all of us around her, would furl.

Rocking her in a bedsheet; or from our hand her hurl;

To me  she was like my first-born, this baby girl.

She  was  a darling,  to play with,  sheer joy;

For all five of us, she  was a walkie-talkie doll, our toy.

Started we speaking her baby-language, which we did actually enjoy.

Playing silly games with her,  we thoroughly did enjoy;

But to feed her we had to actually plan and ploy.

putting her off to sleep on our rocking chair, singing to her, was real joy.

Sharon,  darling  we wish you a very happy year,  not just a day.

May  God bless you n may you always happy stay ;

May  troubles,  illness  n worries from  you stay away .

May I be able to take you in my arms,  soon one day;

And for this day of reunion happy, to the  kind  Lord, I  pray.

એટલી જલદી તને બોલાવી લેવાની, રહેશે અહુરા સામે ફરિયાદ.

પણ પ્રેમ માત પિતાનો લખલૂંટ પામવા માટે, આપું છું હું, અહુરા ને દાદ

કદી ન તેં ધમકાવી હતી, શાંતિથી સમજાવતી હતી, એ છે યાદ

નિખાલસ પ્રેમ આપવા માટે માનુ છું હું તારો ખૂબ ખૂબ આભાર

ડેડ અને તેં આપીયો હતો હર ચીજ માં અમને, બેહદ સહારો અને આધાર

આજે ત્રીસ વર્ષ વીતી ગયાં, તારા વિયોગમાં, છતાં વહે છે, અશ્રુ ની ધાર

જ્યારે અશ્રુ ભરી આંખોથી તને આપી હતી વિદાય, વેદના થઈ હતી અપાર

યાદ છે એ દિવસ, જ્યારે  ડેડ એ કહ્યું હતું, "આજથી હું તમારો ડેડ અને મૌમ, તમારો આધાર."

દુઆ માંગુ છું હાથ ઉઠાવી, રાખે તમને બંન્નેને દાદાર એમની બાંહોમાં સદા.

યા જ્યારે ફુલો ના સુગંધ થી મહેક્યો બાગ

ઝરણાંના અવાજ માં સંભળાયો તારા ગીતનો રાગ

દિલે કરી ટકોર, તું એને ભૂલીજ ક્યારે; તે જ લગાવી છે આં આગ

હવે શા કાજ બુઝાવી છે તને એ; જાગ જરા જાગ;

બુઝાવી શકીશ નહીં તું હવે આં આગ, બચી છે અહીં ખાલી રાખ.
